Celebrate An Impeccable 34 Year Legacy
with Special New 2LP & 2CD Compilation
Out June 16th on [PIAS] Recordings
Intimate Acoustic Out-Stores Announced
Following the announcement of their stunning new compilation album The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023, Texas have released a brand new cover of ‘Keep On Talking.’ The track is the second unreleased song to be taken from the compilation.
A foot-shuffling cover of the 1965 Northern Soul deep-cut, written by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham – and produced by Oldham in Muscle Shoals, the band’s rendition of ‘Keep On Talking’ has the Texas stamp. It’s packed to the brim with attitude, vibe and coated in Sharleen Spiteri’s undeniable tones. “It was a dream to work with Spooner on this northern soul classic that he and Dan Penn wrote,” Sharleen said of the track. “The records that Spooner has played on alone made working with this legend very, very special.” Listen to ‘Keep On Talking’ HERE.
34 years since they recorded ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, then watched, gobsmacked, as it reached Number Eight in the charts, Texas, one of the UK’s most loved bands, have gone on to produce ten studio albums, selling over 40 million records worldwide. So let the fireworks begin with a special 2LP & 2CD compilation The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023 – out June 16th on [PIAS] Recordings, ahead of an appearance on the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
The band will also head out on a run of very special intimate acoustic performances to celebrate the release of The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023 in July. Kicking off on July 10th at Coventry’s HMV Empire, the dates will also see the band visit Kingston, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds and Dundee. Each show will be followed by a Q&A session with Sharleen Spiteri to delve into the stories behind the album. Full details can be found HERE.
