Jack Savoretti Teams Up With Mika For Reimagined ‘Youth and Love’
Scores first #1 album with ‘Singing To Strangers’
Makes a special appearance at this year’s Soccer Aid
Performing at BBC Proms In The Park this Autumn
UK Winter Headline Tour
Off the back of scoring his first ever Number 1 album, as well as recent blistering arena performances, Jack Savoretti spends no time resting on his laurels and returns with ‘Youth and Love’, this time reimagined, with a guest appearance from international music star Mika.
Produced by Cam Blackwood, with Mika’s vocals recorded at his home studio in Florence, the track is an infectious 80’s-inspired disco track that features two stunning, contrasting vocalists producing melodies that won’t leave your consciousness. It received a worldwide exclusive play from Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Talking of the collaboration, Jack comments; “I have always admired the elegance and theatre of performers like Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. I think Mika has what they had, and I am honoured to have him performing on this track.”
Speaking further on the two’s partnership on the track, Mika says; “I’m delighted to be dueting with Jack on his song. I first heard his voice on the radio a few years ago. He is soulful and the texture of his voice is such a contrast to mine that it works. Added to that, he is a total gent. It’s not often that you get to collaborate with such a charming class act like him.”
After well and truly holding his own on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM earlier this year, Jack made a welcome appearance at this year’s Soccer Aid last weekend, coming on at Stamford Bridge in the second half for Piers Morgan’s victorious World XI team. He played alongside footballing legends and celebrities alike, including Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, Roberto Carlos, Eric Cantona, Didier Drogba and many more.
His latest album ‘Singing To Strangers’, his first UK Number 1, is Jack’s sixth LP, shifting just over 32,000 sales in the first week, his highest opening sales yet, and is well on its way to becoming his third Gold-certified album. Produced by Cam Blackwood (George Ezra), the BBC Radio 2 ‘Album Of The Week’ follows Jack’s last two gold discs ‘Written in Scars’ (2014) and ‘Sleep No More’ (2016).
After blowing the roof off a packed Wembley Arena, Jack just two weeks later sold 10,000 tickets for his Westonbirt Arboretum show in Gloucestershire, a move that further cements his place as one of the country’s live favourites. He will play a string of UK festivals this summer as well as a 12 date headline tour this November. For more info visit https://jacksavoretti.com/:
