Jack Savoretti today unveils an exciting collaboration with Natalie Imbruglia, who lends her impeccable vocals to his stunning new single Ultime Parole, taken from his new, first-ever-all-Italian-speaking album Miss Italia – out May 17th.

Today’s new single follows the beautiful collaboration between Jack and Italian superstar singer-songwriter Zucchero on the renowned track Senza una Donna (Without A Woman)’, as well as album opener Come Posso Raccontare.

Natalie says of the collaboration; “I had so much fun recording ‘Ultime Parole’ with Jack. I’m thrilled he invited me to collaborate on this beautiful song that’s reconnected me with my Italian heritage. My dad will be so proud! Jack and I have known each other since the early days of our career. He is an incredible artist and I think our voices really complement each other.”

Jack adds; “This song is a very important song to me, and I wanted someone very important to sing it with. Natalie and I always had these 6 degrees of separation since the day I started making music, but having known each other over the years not only do I have the utmost love and respect for her but we both have the utmost love and respect for all things Italian, mostly for our Italian heritage.”

The album came at an important moment in Jack’s life, as his Italian father had recently passed away. Jack explains; My father was the anchor that tied me to Italy, the connection to my roots that I felt I was at risk of losing without him. So I went back to school. I didn’t want to imitate Italian music, I wanted to make it my own, combining everything I had learned over almost 20 years of experience from working in America, England, and Italy, merging Anglo-Saxon singer-songwriting with Italian to create something unique. I first had to learn to write in Italian before making MY album in Italian.”

Jack’s reputation as a singer-songwriter is perfectly epitomised by the kinds of collaborators he attracts, previously including cultural icons the likes of Bob Dylan, Kylie Minogue, Shania Twain, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Nile Rodgers among many others. However, and albeit being bi-lingual from birth, writing in Italian was uncharted territory for an artist who has been making and sold millions of albums for over sixteen years, releasing seven over this period, two of which have reached #1 in the UK album charts – Singing To Strangers in 2019 and his most recent release, Europiana, in 2021.

Natalie Imbruglia was propelled into the limelight in 1997 with her breakthrough debut album Left Of The Middle. She first stole hearts with her chart-topping smash hit, ‘Torn’, and the song became an immediate international hit in November 1997 reaching #2 on the UK Singles Chart, #1 airplay around the world and with more than a million copies sold in the UK alone. Following the release of five subsequent albums, Natalie made a triumphant return with her critically acclaimed sixth studio album, Firebird, released in 2021, which shot straight to No.10 in the chart. Natalie has won 2 Brit Awards and received 3 Grammy Nominations, as well as winning the third series of UK Version of The Masked Singer.

For Miss Italia Jack went on a journey that saw him hone his craft even further and in a completely different language. He sourced a who’s who from the contemporary songwriting scene in Italy. A group of fellow craftsmen and women including further special collaborations with the likes of Miles Kane, Carla Morrison, Delilah Montagu, as well as Natalie Imbruglia & Zucchero, who he could collaborate with and learn from. In doing so, he didn’t make an album in Italian, he made the new Jack Savoretti record which happens to be in Italian, and a perfect tribute to his late father.

The beautiful results are Miss Italia – an album that sounds every bit Jack Savoretti whilst also being a first.
