Recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the album includes ten new songs written by Prine along with co-writers Pat McLaughlin, Roger Cook, Dan Auerbach, Keith Sykes and Phil Spector. In addition to Prine (lead vocals and acoustic guitar) and Cobb (acoustic guitar, mellotron, claps, kazoo), the album features special guests Brandi Carlile (harmony vocals on tracks 2, 4, 8, 10), Jason Isbell (electric guitar on track 7, slide guitar and background vocals on track 9, 10) and Amanda Shires (fiddle and background vocals on track 9, background vocals on track 10).

The landmark album and tour follow a noteworthy 2017, which included an “Artist of the Year” award at the Americana Music Honors & Awards and a Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award for his “Chicago Voices” performance with Renée Fleming. Last year also saw the release of Prine’s debut book, John Prine Beyond Words, which includes a selection of favorites songs, photographs and stories from Prine’s beloved catalogue. More info is available here.

A two-time Grammy-winner, Prine is among the English language’s premier phrase-turners. Almost 50 years years into a remarkable career that has drawn effusive praise from Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Bonnie Raitt, Roger Waters, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and others who would know, Prine is a smiling, shuffling force for good. He is a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member and a PEN New England Lyrics Award recipient whose classic debut album, simply titled John Prine, is recognized as part of the Recording Academy’s Grammy Hall of Fame and whose songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Carly Simon, Bette Midler, Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown Band and many others.

Following the 2015 death of his dear friend and business partner Al Bunetta, Prine is now President and sole owner of Oh Boy Records. He lives in Nashville, TN with his wife, Fiona, and enjoys spending time with their three sons, a daughter-in-law and his grandchildren.

HANNIE, the songwriting duo of multi-instrumentalists Hannah Koppenburg and Annie Wagstaff release their debut single ‘Cosmic Bound’ today.

Listen to ‘Cosmic Bound’ HERE

‘Cosmic Bound’, featuring newcomer Carys Selvey on vocals, is a little gem pairing funk driven guitars and keys with pure pop melodies and showcases the girls’ ability to write a mean tune. Much like recent acts Disclosure and Clean Bandit, HANNIE write and co-produce their own tracks, handpicking different vocalists to collaborate with for each track.

Forming HANNIE in 2017, Hannah and Annie initially met at ACM University in Guildford, the only girls swimming in a male dominated sea of aspiring guitarists and keyboard players. Hannah, originally from South Germany plays keys and Annie, born in Surrey, guitar and it didn’t take them long to connect musically – going on to play in various bands before eventually forming HANNIE last year.

‘We’ve been doing these online videos for a while and it’s really exciting for us to have our own track out’ says Annie ‘It’s been a totally different experience from playing for other people and we love it!’ Following a stint of session work with other acts the pair moved to East London, turned their living room into a studio and have been writing prolifically ever since.

Within a year HANNIE have gone from putting up online videos filmed in their living room, to having over 160,000 followers, keenly awaiting their next move.

Their view is simple:

“Your gender should never get in the way of doing what you love and working hard. It’s weird but there doesn’t seem to be anyone doing what we are doing, which we find really exciting. We want to be a step towards putting more girls, as musicians, in the music industry. This is the most fun we’ve ever had, and can’t wait to share these tunes with everyone.”

PLAYS THE WAITING ROOM APRIL 12th

Mr. Jukebox, the highly anticipated debut album from Joshua Hedley, will be released April 20 on Third Man Records and is now available for pre-order. Watch the video for the title track today HERE.

Produced by Jordan Lehning and Skylar Wilson, the 10-track album features nine original songs as well as a version of “When You Wish Upon A Star.” In addition to Hedley on vocals and fiddle, the album features Eddie Lange on steel guitar/guitar, Jeremy Fetzer from Steelism on guitar/baritone guitar, Michael Rinne on bass, Jon Radford on drums/percussion and Micah Hulscher on piano/organ.

Hedley comments, “It’s not a throwback. It sounds new because it is new, and it sounds the way it sounds because it’s the only thing I know how to do. I can’t write a song that sounds different. Classic country is like a suit. Nothing about a men’s suit has changed in like 100 years. Classic never goes out of style.”

A Florida native, Hedley felt inexplicably drawn toward the fiddle as a child. He first asked for one at age 3. His mom listened to Neil Diamond and his dad listened to Otis Redding––they didn’t see the request coming––but when he asked again five years later, they were struck by the longing’s staying power and, at 8 years-old, he finally got his wish.

He went on to perform at the local VFW and American Legion and, at 12, joined his first band. His bandmates were in their 40s. Around the same time, Hedley visited Nashville with his parents and immediately knew that he belonged. At 19, he made the move and began sneaking into Robert’s Western World––too young to drink legally and too wild to care.

Joshua Hedley went on to become a featured performer and in-demand sideman at the now legendary spot and, ultimately, a well-respected frontman. Armed with an easy croon and prodigious fiddle playing, he became known by peers as the Mayor of Lower Broad. In the years since, he’s performed with artists including Jonny Fritz, Justin Townes Earle and was featured prominently in the 2015 documentary, Heartworn Highways Revisited.

Hedley will tour throughout 2018 in support of the record, including stops at SXSW and a date at London’s The Waiting Room on April 12th.

Album ‘Sir’ Out February 16th

Watch The Video HERE

Fischerspooner share their new single “TopBrazil” off their upcoming album, Sir, out February 16 via Ultra Records.  The stunning companion video was directed by Tom C J Brown and features frontman Casey Spooner interwoven into a collage of male bodies becoming one, all the while blurring the lines of masculinity and femininity paired with overt sexuality. Spooner explains, “The video celebrates a pop aesthetic typically reserved for the female archetype and liberates the male form to be sexual, expressive and fearless.” It embodies the album’s resistant narrative as an overtly queer and celebratory body of work in response to the current atmosphere in America.

Sir is the group’s first album in nearly a decade. Entirely produced by Michael Stipe, it features additional production by BOOTS (Beyonce, Run The Jewels, FKA Twigs) and mixing by both Stuart White (Beyonce’s Lemonade) and Andy LeMaster. The collection of erotically-charged, yet profound songs was crafted by Spooner and Stipe at Michael’s home in Athens, GA, alongside Michael’s longtime collaborator Andy LeMaster. The album also features contributions by Spooner’s longtime collaborator Le Chev, as well as Thomas Haskett.

Fischerspooner started as a DIY art project with their very first performance at a Manhattan Starbucks, which ultimately transformed into a spectacle that ushered in the electroclash pop revolution. They pushed the boundaries of music and art in unparalleled ways that laid the foundations for many of today’s biggest artists. Long known for their spectacular live performances, they returned to the stage and played their first show in almost a decade in October at Brooklyn Steel, with West Coast shows lined up for March this year.

Today, Above & Beyond release ‘Always’, the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Common Ground’, out January 26th on Anjunabeats.

The new album, the follow up to 2015’s Grammy nominated “We Are All We Need”, will feature the recently released anthem ‘Northern Soul’ featuring another classic Above & Beyond collaborator in Richard Bedford, and the infectious single ‘My Own Hymn’. The two tracks between them have already been streamed well over 3 million times alongside summer festival anthem ‘Tightrope’.

2017 saw Above & Beyond host a sold-out ABGT250 weekender at The Gorge Amphitheatre, Seattle, playing to a sold out crowd of 25,000, as well as topping off the year with another sold-out show at The O2, London in November. 2018 will see Jono, Tony and Paavo play their biggest ever London show, at Creamfields Steel Yard in Finsbury Park on May 26th. The award-winning Steel Yard superstructure is the largest of its kind in Europe with capacity for 15,000 fans.

Over their six critically acclaimed studio albums, including their acoustic and OceanLab projects, Above & Beyond’s songs and lyrics have been sung back to them at the world’s biggest stadia and stages – from Alexandra Palace, to Madison Square Garden, to the Hollywood Bowl, to their famed one million people gig at Barra Beach in Rio de Janeiro in 2007.

On November 29, 2002, one year after the passing of George Harrison, Olivia Harrison and longtime friend Eric Clapton organized a performance tribute in his honor. Held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the momentous evening featured George’s songs, and music he loved, performed by a lineup that included Clapton, Joe Brown, Dhani Harrison, Jools Holland, Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Monty Python, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, Ringo Starr and many more.

Directed by David Leland (whose credits include the feature Wish You Were Here, HBO’s Band Of Brothers and the Traveling Wilburys video “Handle With Care”), CONCERT FOR GEORGE captures stunning renditions of some of the most significant music of the 20th century, including “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (featuring Clapton on guitar, McCartney on piano and Starr on drums), “Taxman” (performed by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and “The Inner Light” (covered by Jeff Lynne and Anoushka Shankar). Lynne, Harrison’s longtime friend and collaborator, produced the audio elements of the concert, while Clapton oversaw the entire proceedings as Musical Director.

CONCERT FOR GEORGE has been certified 8-times platinum by the RIAA since its initial release as a 2-DVD set in November 2003 and earned a 2004 Grammy® Award for Best Long Form Music Video.

“The sweet, solemn music of George Harrison… has rarely sounded more majestic than in the sweeping performances of the enlarged star-studded band that gathered in London at Royal Albert Hall on Nov. 29” – The New York Times

“The event’s warmth sweeps the audience along.” **** Guardian

“The fondness that everyone in Eric Clapton’s all-star band has for the former Fab shines throughout a tribute that retains the sincerity and simplicity of Harrison’s music.” **** Empire

“It’s hard to think of a more fitting tribute to a man who, despite being in the world’s biggest band, spent so much of that time in the shadows of his fellow players. George’s songs take centre-stage here, lovingly arranged by musical director Eric Clapton to accommodate as many famous friends as possible.” **** Record Collector

After seeing her fourth album ‘The Architect’ hit Number 1, Brit Award winning Paloma Faith releases her new single ‘Til I’m Done’, impacting 16th February on RCA Records.

Following the radio favourites ‘Guilty’ and ‘Crybaby’ and produced by TMS, ‘Til I’m Done’ is a disco-funk driven track impossible not to dance to as Paloma sings about her independence and strength. “I wanted to write something more modern,” she says. “On previous albums, I’ve been more concerned with the past but now I’m looking forward because of motherhood and wanting to change things for a better future. It’s a marriage of old and new.”

After three years away Paloma has made a stunning comeback which has not only seen her garner her first Number 1 album (already gold, and fast on its way to platinum), but also seen her perform and host Sounds Like Friday Night, sing a duet with finalist Grace on the X Factor Finals show, and give a stand out performance at the Royal Variety Show.

Watch the stunning Fischer video edit for new single “Togetherness” featuring Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek here and the equally stunning Spooner edit here

The iconic group Fischerspooner return with their first album in almost a decade, ‘Sir’, released February 16, on Ultra Records. Produced by Michael Stipe, it also features additional production by BOOTS (Beyonce, Run The Jewels) and mixing by Stuart White (Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’) and Andy LeMaster. Long known for their spectacular live performances, they returned to the stage and played their first show in almost a decade on October 27 at Brooklyn Steel.

The highly personal album chronicles a tumultuous and emotionally fraught period of Casey Spooner’s life. It’s a collection of erotically charged, yet profound songs that Casey and Michael crafted at Michael’s home in Athens, GA, alongside Michael’s longtime collaborator Andy LeMaster. Together they delved into the emotional and sexual turbulence that had defined Casey’s life for the past few years, resulting in intensely explicit and honest songs of not only the physical aspects of sex, as Casey made his re-entry into the sexual playground now defined by technology, but also the muddled ways that feelings and self-image are present in that experience.

‘Michael Stipe encouraged me to be more emotionally connected and to trust my voice’ says Casey. ‘He also fought for a more raw vocal in the final production. He taught me new ways of creating melody and lyric. He was more than a producer. He was a mentor and a great friend who guided me through troubled times and captured my experience. He lifted me up at my lowest. This album is a document of that experience.’

After the songwriting was finished, Warren Fischer meticulously created a sonic landscape that perfectly supported Casey’s raw, intimate work. In the process, Warren established his own creative partnership with rising producer BOOTS, who has crafted innovative records for Beyonce and Run The Jewels among others, which led to the birth of the single “Have Fun Tonight”. The album was also aided by the contributions of Fischerspooner’s longtime collaborator Le Chev, as well as Thomas Haskett and guest vocalists Caroline Polachek, Johnny Magee, Andy LeMaster and Holly Miranda. Warren’s sonic work on this album further cements his undeniable role in shaping the sound of modern pop.
