‘A Not So Silent Night’ back to London for the first time in ten years for what promises to be one of the concert highlights of the year. These special shows have become a holiday tradition for the Wainwright and McGarrigle families.

Madonna gives an intimate, behind-the-scenes look of how her recent #1 album came together in the documentary short “World of Madame X,” which is available now globally in over 100 countries and territories on Amazon Prime Video. In “World of Madame X,” she tells the story of how she was given the name Madame X when she was 19 and newly arrived in New York City as she took dance classes at the Martha Graham School and how the album was born while living in Lisbon, Portugal for the past several years.

A longtime fan of Fado (a form of Portuguese singing done in social environments) and Morna (widely considered the national music of Cape Verde), Madonna formed a bond with Dino d’Santiago, a Portuguese singer of Cape Verdean descent, who invited her to join local musicians to living-room sessions, where singers and instrumentalists gather in someone’s home to play music. “What struck me most was this organic, authentic feeling of people being there because they just love music,” she recalls. “Money had nothing to do with it. Off the back of the incredible latest album ‘I Trawl The Megahertz‘, Prefab Sprout have announced exciting release plans for remastered vinyl versions of three of the band’s classic albums along with their incredible greatest hits collection ‘A Life of Surprises: The Best Of’ – out September 27th. From the remastering and artwork, to sourcing new images, the project has been fully orchestrated by both Paddy and Martin McAloon.

The releases include Prefab Sprout’s debut album ‘Swoon’ – a complex collection of songs that announced the band’s idiosyncratic style in an explosive way, as well as their third album ‘From Langley Park To Memphis’, containing their biggest hit “The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” along with one of the best pop anthems of the 1980s – “Cars And Girls”. 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of The Cult’s seminal album Sonic Temple. To celebrate the anniversary, Beggars Arkive will release The Cult: Sonic Temple 30 on September 13th. It will be released as a deluxe box set and a 5-CD set, as well as reissuing Sonic Temple on Double LP, which has been out of print for over 20 years. Originally released in 1989, Sonic Temple proved to be a pivotal moment for both band and the wider rock scene.  Produced by the legendary Bob Rock, Sonic Temple had four chart-topping singles; “Fire Woman”, “Edie (Ciao Baby)”, “Sun King” and “Sweet Soul Sister”.

In a recent interview about the album, Ian Astbury explained how the band brought together hard rock and indie rock to create the unique, game-changing sounds on Sonic Temple. “We wanted to retain our core DNA as we went deeper into psych and hard rock influences. It was a complete immersion for me into art, film, music, poetry and literature, weaving those influences into what was to become Sonic Temple. The band was becoming more popular. We were in uncharted waters. Most of the bands we had come up with had split up or fallen off. We were accelerating. There was no real time to breathe. We were forming new allegiances and breaking the glass ceiling of ‘the indie outsider.’”

The album catapulted The Cult into superstar status and remains their most commercially successful release. It has sold over 1.5 million copies in the US alone, and was declared platinum in 1990. It made it to #10 on the Billboard charts, and the aforementioned songs all remain rock-radio staples to this day.

The set list for the “A Sonic Temple” tour draws from The Cult’s 10 studio albums with the centerpiece being a super set that’s focused on the core songs from Sonic Temple; some of these songs have not been performed since the album was originally released. Each show will be a gathering and celebration for Cult fans–an opportunity to come together for one night–an event that will be memorable for all who attend. As Billy Duffy stated about the tour in a recent interview, “I’d like fans to not only allow themselves a little indulgence into maybe simpler happier times of the late 80s for a few hours at a ST19 show, but also be happy that the music is now really their possession, not ours, and to do with it what they will.”

The BOX SET contains three pieces of vinyl and a cassette plus tour memorabilia and ephemera (replica of original laminate, backstage pass, original press releases, label copy and more). It’s numbered and limited to 3000 pieces worldwide and contains 40 tracks, four of which are previously unreleased. LP1+2 contain the album as originally released. LP3 contains Live At Wembley recorded by the BBC, and the included cassette contains limited-release demos. Four of the live tracks are previously unreleased.

The FIVE-CD SET contains 53 tracks (including 6 previously unreleased) with the original album on disc 1, alternate edits, mixes, extended versions and acoustic versions on disc 2, limited-release demos on discs 3 & 4 and Live at Wembley recorded by the BBC on disc 5. Six of the live tracks are previously unreleased. It is beautifully packaged in book form with rare photographs and interviews with the band by esteemed UK journalist James Brown.

The DOUBLE LP is a revamped reissue of the original album. Now cut onto two pieces of black vinyl, the audio is improved and contains 16 tracks total, which comprise the original album plus 6 B-sides. It’s been out of print for over 20 years.

The DIGITAL version will replicate the CD-set but excludes the original album for a total of 43 tracks.

Following a sold-out headline show at The Lexington, two phenomenal Country2Country shows at London’s O2 Arena and the release of her debut EP earlier this year, rising artist Twinnie has revealed her new single ‘Social Babies’ impacting August 16^th on BMG. The track is taken from her debut album, set for release in early 2020 and has been added as a New To 2 featured record on BBC Radio 2.

Produced by Pete Hammerton (Little Mix, One Direction, Britney Spears) and written about the current social world of people living through social media and spending too much time on their phones, ‘Social Babies’ is another catchy country-pop gem from Twinnie. Speaking of the track Twinnie said “I wrote this song from the perspective of my friends and family about me. We live in this social media age which is very different to the one I grew up in. It can be a dangerous place.” She continues “There is pressure to look a certain way, act a certain way and portray “a life of riley” when sometimes it’s not a true representation. I think we can all be victims of this online culture. I certainly experience it, from the effects on my relationships to my self esteem.”

Named by Rolling Stone as one of the stand-out acts at the 2018 Country2Country festival and in Billboard’s Hotly Tipped ‘Ones To Watch For 2019, Twinnie was always destined to be a performer. Spending her formative years in Yorkshire singing, writing, acting and travelling to her beloved Nashville to soak up the knowledge and learn the craft she is definitely one not to be missed in 2019.

An amazing journey ushered Twinnie from humble beginnings in York, England to Nashville, TN. Produced by Cam Blackwood, with Mika’s vocals recorded at his home studio in Florence, the track is an infectious 80’s-inspired disco track that features two stunning, contrasting vocalists producing melodies that won’t leave your consciousness. It received a worldwide exclusive play from Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Talking of the collaboration, Jack comments; “I have always admired the elegance and theatre of performers like Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. I think Mika has what they had, and I am honoured to have him performing on this track.”

Speaking further on the two’s partnership on the track, Mika says; “I’m delighted to be dueting with Jack on his song. I first heard his voice on the radio a few years ago. He is soulful and the texture of his voice is such a contrast to mine that it works. Added to that, he is a total gent. It’s not often that you get to collaborate with such a charming class act like him.”

After well and truly holding his own on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM earlier this year, Jack made a welcome appearance at this year’s Soccer Aid last weekend, coming on at Stamford Bridge in the second half for Piers Morgan’s victorious World XI team. He played alongside footballing legends and celebrities alike, including Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, Roberto Carlos, Eric Cantona, Didier Drogba and many more.

Beloved singer-songwriter, Pete Yorn, announces Caretakers, his first solo album in three years and his most spontaneous collection to date out August 9^th via his new label Shelly Music. Produced with Jackson Phillips of the celebrated indie rock band Day Wave, the album finds Yorn trusting his gut and working from instinct more than ever before. Alongside the announcement, Pete has also released the mesmerising single ‘Calm Down’ with companion track ‘Can’t Stop You’. Premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 radio show, ‘Calm Down’ combines Pete’s soft vocal tones with beautiful synths perfectly.

“These songs are designed to grow with you,” explains Yorn. “They’re all anchored in particular moments, but they blast off from there, so what they mean to you on any given day might evolve. They’re built to have that flexibility.”

Yorn is equally indebted to Bruce Springsteen’s blue-collar introspection as Lou Reed’s deadpan stream-of-consciousness. He first broke out in 2001 with his extraordinary Columbia Records debut, ‘Musicforthemorningafter’, which was hailed by NPR as one of the year’s finest and Rolling Stone praised it as “atmospheric, gently lit by sunlight and regret.” In the decades that followed, Yorn solidified his status as a songwriters’ songwriter, releasing five more solo albums and collaborating in the studio with everyone from Frank Black and Peter Buck to Liz Phair and Scarlett Johansson (Yorn and Johansson’s joint 2009 release, ‘Break Up,’ went Platinum in France). Yorn has performed on a plethora of TV shows including Letterman, Fallon, Kimmel, Ellen and more; as well as sharing the stage on tours with artists as varied as R.E.M., Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, Foo Fighters and The Dixie Chicks, and festival slots from Coachella and Bonnaroo to Glastonbury and Austin City Limits.

Following the release of his acclaimed track ‘Favourites’ featuring Little Simz, Kasabian mastermind Serge Pizzorno aka The S.L.P. has revealed he will release his debut solo record ‘The S.L.P.’ on 30th August on Columbia Records. Serge will also play a string of headline dates across the UK and Europe this September including two shows at London’s EartH on the 9th and 10th September.

Recorded and produced by Serge at his Leicester studio The Sergery ‘The S.L.P.’ is an 11-track trip across hip-hop influence, richly melodic moments, psychedelic-funk, new-wave and euphoric scenes. Second single ‘Nobody Else’ is piano ballad turned sun soaked house banger follows first taste ‘Favourites’ featuring Little Simz. Other album highlights include ‘Meanwhile… At The Welcome Break’ a collaboration with man of the moment slowthai, the euphoric ‘Trance’, and psychedelic funk outs ‘The Wu’and ‘Youngest Gary’.

Serge says of the project Serge says “Moving forward, I’d like to collaborate more and open that door more. The S.L.P. project will become this sort of place I can go and just do whatever. It’s so important to have that” continuing “My life in the band and my boys, that’s part of me that will be there forever, but then there’s something else I have to get that out or I won’t be able to move forward.”
