2019 was a hugely successful year for Chris and Steph, the extremely talented duo that are Ida Mae. As well as releasing their debut album in June, Ida Mae played 80 US shows and 35 UK/EU shows supporting the likes of Josh Ritter, Greta Van Fleet, Alison Krauss, Nikki Lane and Willie Nelson to name a few. Their success on the road made it possible to go on a headline tour less than 6 months after the album release, a remarkable feat for a British Band launching in UK and US simultaneously.

The band also recently hung out with Ditty TV; check out their incredibly upbeat live version of ‘Boom Boom Boom’ HERE.

As well as being nominated for Americana Music UK’s ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Chasing Lights’ reached #1 on the Itunes Singer/Songwriter Album Charts and #8 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Album sales. With a ton of shows planned for this year and new music in the works, 2020 is set to look even brighter for the pair.

‘And It’s Still Alright’ out Feb 14th on Stax Records

2020 UK & EU Tour Includes Show at Royal Albert Hall 29th April

Today, Nathaniel Rateliff unveils a Danny Clinch-directed video for his new track, “What A Drag,” the second song he’s shared from his forthcoming solo album, And It’s Still Alright, which is set for release on February 14 via Stax Records. Watch the video HERE.

The acclaimed director and photographer comments, “I was excited to work on this tune the moment I heard its moody cinematic opening. I felt we could make a strange little film that would allow the viewer to make their own interpretation of what the song and video means to them.”

And It’s Still Alright’s lead single and title track was the #1 most added song at Triple A Radio in its first week of release. TIME noted, “…his new solo work takes him in a gentler acoustic direction, which is echoed across his upcoming album. His baritone has a lovely ragged edge, the sort of lived-in voice that seems suited for a campfire and a country lullaby.” In addition, Rolling Stone featured the album on their list of the “Most Anticipated Albums of 2020,” while Rateliff returned to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to perform “And It’s Still Alright.” Watch the performance here: http://bit.ly/2FP2759

When Rateliff began writing for the new album, the songs initially centered on the pain of his unraveling relationship, but the theme of the album took a different direction when Richard Swift, his longtime friend and producer of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ two acclaimed albums, passed away in July 2018. Across the 10 tracks on And It’s Still Alright, you can feel Rateliff faltering but never losing hope—hope that it’s all part of a bigger plan. While the songs are quieter and more reflective than the exuberant soul The Night Sweats have become famous for, they are no less urgent and indelible, as he pushes the boundaries and finds new depths in his songwriting—a singular voice embarking on a personal exploration of love, loss and perseverance.

To record And It’s Still Alright, Rateliff returned to Swift’s studio, National Freedom, in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He was joined by co-producers Patrick Meese (longtime collaborator and The Night Sweats drummer) and James Barone (Beach House drummer), who both also engineered and mixed the record. The album features additional contributions from Tom Hagerman (DeVotchKa violinist), Luke Mossman (The Night Sweats guitarist), Elijah Thomson (Everest bassist), Daniel Creamer (The Texas Gentlemen keyboardist) and Eric Swanson (steel guitarist).

And It’s Still Alright is available for pre-order HERE while vinyl and CD packages can be purchased HERE.

April UK & Ireland Tour Announced

Play Biggest UK Headline show at London’s Kentish Town Forum April 30th

With a slew of floor-stomping hits and sold-out shows, 2019 saw The Snuts cement their place as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands. The band continue their rapid rise in 2020 with their dance-pit anthem ‘Fatboy Slim’ and the announcement of their brand-new ‘Mixtape EP’ out 13th March on Parlophone Records.

Packed with hooks and a groove that will drive even the most reluctant to the dancefloor, ‘Fatboy Slim’ is set to be the anthem across the nation’s fields this summer. Speaking of the track lead singer Jack Cochrane said, ‘The song is a nod to the nostalgic subculture of live music across the UK in the 90s and similar decades. Toying with the idea of sampled drum loops and an electronic music styled structure the track is intended to pay homage to Fatboy Slims notorious set at Brighton beach almost 15 years ago’.

Listen to ‘Fatboy Slim’ HERE

Recorded in LA with Inflo (Karen O / Danger Mouse, Michael Kiwanuka, Little Simz) and Tony Hoffer (Beck, Goldfrapp, M83) the track is the second to be taken from ‘Mixtape EP’. The release also includes the band’s explosive hymn ‘All Your Friends’, the four-to-the-floor indie banger ‘Coffee & Cigarettes’, ‘Don’t Forget It (Punk)’ and the heart wrenching ‘Broadwalk’, which shows a more vulnerable side to Jack’s writing and bares the depth of the band’s sound.

The band have been garnering a massive following in Scotland and across the UK with support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Radio 1, Radio X, Absolute Radio, Independent, Clash, Notion and Dork Magazine.

Following their racuas sold-out UK tour last year and a run of dates with friend Lewis Capaldi between recording, The Snuts return to the live circuit in 2020, with a spring UK and Ireland tour, including a massive show at London’s Kentish Town Forum on 30th April. ‘Hotel Song’ leads the way, a potent, lyrical, literate display that traces Diana DeMuth’s path of self-realisation. It’s a dose of heaven” Clash Magazine

Following the emotionally charged anthem, ‘Hotel Song’, rising star Diana DeMuth returns with the devastatingly beautiful ‘Rose of Nantucket’.  The release comes after a pair of very special London shows with producer and collaborator Simone Felice (Bat For Lashes, The Lumineers, Jade Bird) at The Slaughtered Lamb.

With ‘Rose of Nantucket,’ Diana returns to the restlessness of ‘Hotel Song’, her smoky vocals chanting the chorus: “If you get lost in the howling rain / Cause some fucker changed that sign post to lead you astray.” Speaking of the track Diana said, “I feel ‘Rose Of Nantucket’ touches on the human experience of being alone and how powerful it is when we’re able to connect with another person.”

Directed by Nicholas Sutton Bell, Diana commented on the video, “The living portraits we incorporated are a big part of what brings this song to life. Each portrait has a loneliness to it but when strung together there’s also a feeling of camaraderie and a reminder that we’re not really ever truly alone, which is exactly what ‘Rose Of Nantucket’ is about.”

Watch ‘Rose of Nantucket’ HERE

Growing up on the coast of Massachusetts, Diana was immersed in a bohemian upbringing where she moved from place to place with hippie parents. That same restless spirit inhabited Diana: she always had a sense that there was something out there beyond where she grew up and that existence. At 19, after going to college for one week, Diana left because she was certain music was her path. For the past five years, she’s focused on just that, spending her time traveling and playing small gigs around America, while waitressing and honing her craft.

Diana and Simone teamed up with Simone’s long-time collaborator David Baron at a Catskill Mountain house overlooking the Shokan Reservoir outside Woodstock where the music flowed quickly and freely, and together they began to record.

Margo Price has released “Stone Me,” her first new song in over two years, out now on Loma Vista Recordings. She performed the song last night on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, capping a special episode of the show with a bold proclamation:

Love me, hate me

Desecrate me

Call me a bitch

then call me baby

You don’t know me

You don’t own me

Yeah that’s no way

To stone me

Listen to ‘Stone Me’ HERE

Watch the Samantha Bee performance here, and Margo’s interview with correspondent Sasheer Zamata here.

Margo says, “After what feels like an eternity, I’m releasing a new song into the wild today. It’s been hard to keep everything I’ve been working on for the last year to myself and I’m so excited to share it.”

“Stone Me” follows what was a busy 2019 for Margo. She started the year with a Best New Artist Grammy nomination, toured with Chris Stapleton, performed at concert tributes to Loretta Lynn, Mavis Staples, and Dolly Parton – the latter of which aired on the NBC special Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Opry – and released her own cannabis strain via Willie’s Reserve. In December, Esquire, Billboard, and Pitchfork all named Margo’s last record, 2017’s All American Made, one of the top albums of the decade, with Esquire observing that “Price cemented her status as this generation’s Young or Nelson; a stark truth-teller of the finest degree.

4 Date UK April Tour Includes London Roundhouse

Hotly Tipped For 2020

As they gear up for a huge 2020, the band have kicked off the year being hotly tipped by media across the board. Sea Girls unleash their dynamic new anthem ‘Ready For More’, taken from their forthcoming new EP ‘Under Exit Lights’ – out March 6th on Polydor and available on limited edition 12’’ vinyl, CD and all DSPs – here.

On the themes of the new single, charismatic lead singer Henry Camamile explains; “‘Ready For More’ is the bad apple of the EP. It looks and sounds sweet, but it’s basically staring into this abyss of nihilistic behaviour and being scared that I couldn’t change it. This song practically embraces the slippery slope I was on.”

‘Under Exit Lights’ EP Track Listing:

              1. Ready For More
              2. Why Won’t You Admit
              3. Closer
              4. Violet
              5. Timeless
              6. Soldier On

2019 was quite a year for Sea Girls, one of the UK’s most exciting new bands, named after a misheard lyric from a Nick Cave song. They signed a major record deal with Polydor, are touring the globe, triumphed at Reading and played their biggest UK show to date when they sold out London’s Forum to 2,300 fans.

Sea Girls are a band aiming first and foremost at being the singalong torch bearers for a whole new generation. Much of their success is driven by their essential energetic live performances and uncanny ability to write songs like ‘Violet’ and ‘Damage Done’ that enjoy heavy Radio 1 support.

In March they release the brand new EP, ‘Under Exit Lights’, featuring more infectious jagged life songs and in April play their biggest UK tour yet. “The lyrics for these songs draw their soul from my life of late nights and the mornings after – about being young and going out a lot,” Henry explains.  “It involves dark thoughts, anxiety, but ends in hope, positivity and optimism.”

Sea Girls are spreading their wings around the globe and continue to lyrically look their generation in the eye, singing to their era and embracing their silent crisis of confidence.

The band play the following dates:

2020 UK Headline Tour
London, Royal Albert Hall – April 7th

James Blunt has made one of the most compelling videos of his career for his new song ‘Monsters’, one of the highlights from his acclaimed UK Top 3 album ‘Once Upon A Mind’ – out now on Atlantic Records. Watch HERE.

Filmed in Oxfordshire and directed by Vaughn Arnell – who has previously worked with James, Robbie Williams, The Spice Girls, George Michael and One DIrection among many others – the stark, emotive video was conceived by James personally. “Monsters is for my father who has Stage 4 Chronic Kidney disease, so I asked if he’d like to be in the video with me.”

The simple, minimal and stirring track is one of the most personal songs James has ever written. A heartbreaking ode from a son to his father, the track showcases James’ emotional vocal line at its strongest and is certain to reduce even the most resilient to tears. Without question, it will certainly be one of the most talked about videos of the year. The centuries old, Gothic house where the video was filmed was also home to James Bond in the film ‘Quantum of Solace’.

Since playing the song live on Chris Evans’ Virgin Radio show last month and then performing it on this year’s BBC Festival of Remembrance TV program, the song has gained a life of its own, driven by James generously donating all royalties to Help for Heroes and the British Legion.

The chorus of ‘Monsters’ strikes a chord with us all:

‘I’m not your son. You’re not my father,

We’re just two grown men saying goodbye.

No need to forgive. No need to forget.

I know your mistakes and you know mine.

And while you’re sleeping, I’ll try to make you proud.

So daddy, won’t you close your eyes.

Don’t be afraid. It’s my turn to chase the monsters away.’

James will head out on a major UK and European tour including a must-see show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 7th. He plays the following UK shows.

North American Spring Tour Dates Announced

Pearl Jam will release their much-anticipated eleventh studio album, Gigaton, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on March 27, 2020 in the US. Internationally, the album will be released and distributed by Universal Music Group. Produced by Josh Evans and Pearl Jam, Gigaton marks the band’s first studio album since GRAMMY award-winning Lightning Bolt, which was released on October 15, 2013. Gigaton is available for pre-order now at www.pearljam.com. The first single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants”, will be released in the coming weeks.

“Making this record was a long journey,” explains Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

Gigaton’s cover features Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist Paul Nicklen’s photo “Ice Waterfall.” Taken in Svalbard, Norway, this image features the Nordaustlandet ice cap gushing high volumes of meltwater.

In support of Gigaton, Pearl Jam will embark on their first leg of North American tour dates in March and April. The 16-date tour kicks-off on March 18 in Toronto and wraps with a two-date stint in Oakland April 18-19. Pearl Jam’s North American tour is in addition to the band’s previously announced European summer tour, which kicks off in Frankfurt, Gemany on June 23rd. Full details at: pearljam.com/tour.
