ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM LONG LOST
Out May 21st on Whispering Pines Studios Inc./Republic Records

New Single ‘Mine Forever’ Out Now With Official Music Video

Who is Tubbs Tarbell?

After causing a whole lot of chatter amongst audiences and critics alike, Lord Huron have begun to unwind the little riddle they’ve been spinning over the past few months and announce their fourth full-length album, LONG LOST, out May 21st via Whispering Pines Studios Inc./Republic Records featuring new single ‘MINE FOREVER’ – watch the video HERE.

At the same time, the news only raises more questions. What can fans expect? What did the band lose and how long has it been lost? And who the hell is WBUB’s Mr. Tubbs Tarbell? All these questions (and more) have been brewing as easter eggs from the upcoming album have been revealed during Lord Huron’s Alive from Whispering Pines series.

During its first episode, viewers were introduced to Mr. Tubbs Tarbell, fell under the spell of commercials that may very well be lost tapes from the past, and were treated to some incredible performances by Lord Huron. The band played some old songs including “Meet Me In The Woods” and provided a sneak peek at some new songs. The episode also featured a hotline where fans could call in and ask Mr. Tarbell questions and request songs from the band. Episode 2 included additional cryptic clues, more beautiful performances from Lord Huron (including  “The World Ender” and  “Frozen Pines”) and even the secret world premiere of “Mine Forever.” Last night on Alive From Whispering Pines, Lord Huron performed their triple-platinum single “The Night We Met” as well as fan favorites “Ghost on The Shore” and “Never Ever.”

To help answer all these lingering questions, Tubbs has put out an official letter into the multiverse from Whispering Pines Studios describing the mythical tale of recording Long Lost with Lord Huron and the origins of its cosmic music. Read the full letter HERE.

Long Lost will also include the previously released track “Not Dead Yet.” The single has already racked up 1.5 million Spotify streams and 500K video views. Additionally, the guys hit the stage at Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! for a show-stopping television debut performance of “Not Dead Yet.Watch it HERE. Spin claimed, “they sharpened their teeth, while UPROXX described the track as “driving. In addition to plugs from Stereogum and more, Brooklyn Vegan touted it among “Our Favorite Songs of the Week.See full track list for Long Lost below.

Lord Huron first made a name for themselves with their debut album Lonesome Dreams and shortly after Stranger Tales, which featured the triple-platinum single “The Night We Met.” In 2018, Lord Huron earned widespread critical acclaim with their first Top 5 debut on the Billboard Top 2—with their third album, Vide Noir. A cinematic collection of pensive provocative, and powerful rock, the record garnered praise from The Guardian, Uncut, NME & The Line Of Best Fit, as well as NPR, Time, Los Angeles Times, Spin, Stereogum, Refinery29, UPROXX,  and more as singles such as “Wait by the River” and “When the Night is Over” generated tens of millions of streams. The band’s extensive touring includes headline shows at some of the most storied venues in the both the US & UK, including the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, Camden Roundhouse) and prime slots at festivals ranging from Coachella to Lollapalooza to Bonnaroo.

What could be in store for the band next? Only time will tell…As Tubbs says: “As ever, friends, may you live until you die”

Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood & Jason Isbell have announced a special indie exclusive 4 LP box set release of their memorable Live At The Shoals Theatre performance – out June 4th, 2021. Pre-order here.

Nearly seven years ago, Jason Isbell reunited onstage with former Drive-By Truckers bandmates Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley for a special round-style night in Muscle Shoals Music. The setlist includes acoustic versions of Isbell-era Truckers gems including ‘Heathens’ and ‘Zip City’, as well as post-Isbell Truckers tracks like ‘Space City’ and solo Isbell favourites such as ‘Cover Me Up’.

This special event was recorded live at the Shoals Theatre in Florence, AL on June 15th, 2014 by Dennis Crosby, mixed by Gena Johnson and mastered by Pete Lyman.

The 4 LP Box Set (Blue & Red) comes in a high quality matte finish and also includes liner notes from Patterson Hood. All pre-orders of ‘Live At Shoals Theatre’ receive an INSTANT DOWNLOAD of the entire LP.

The release comes off the back of Isbell’s incredible melody packed latest album ‘Reunions’ – out last year – recorded with the 400 Unit and produced by celebrated producer and long time collaborator Dave Cobb – shooting into the UK Top 20 album chart. The result was a seamless collection of ten new songs that delve into relationships with lovers, friends, children, parents, and one’s self.

Drive-By Truckers released two critically acclaimed albums in 2020. THE NEW OK was the band’s 13th studio album and was released in the fall, arriving mere months after the release of THE UNRAVELING. Originally conceived as a quarantine EP collecting material recorded in Memphis during sessions for THE UNRAVELING, THE NEW OK project quickly grew to include provocative new songs written and recorded over what Hood calls “this endless summer of protests, riots, political shenanigans and pandemic horrors.” THE UNRAVELING was released in January of 2020 and was the band’s first new LP in more than three years – the longest-ever gap between new DBT albums. It was recorded at the legendary Sam Phillips Recording Service in Memphis, TN by Grammy Award-winning engineer Matt Ross-Spang and longtime DBT producer David Barbe.

With every new release, we are offered an artist at the height of his powers, fully charged with creativity and confidence. This special 4 LP box set is yet another impeccable addition to his already impressive discography.

65th Eurovision Song Contest To Be Held In Rotterdam – May 22nd

James Newman is back and looking forward to representing the United Kingdom at this year’s 65th Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands – May 22nd, with his blistering new track ‘Embers’, after the competition was postponed in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first installment, in a year that will see plenty more exciting new music from James, ‘Embers’ is a joyous concoction of explosive dance beats, blended with its gospel-inspired vocals, melodic piano lines and horn sections, coming at the right time as the perfect pick me up in a year that’s now loaded with some much needed hope. The track was recorded last year, and written by and produced by Danny Shah and Connor Blake, as well as Tom Hollings and Samuel Brennan (Melanie C, Zak Abel, 220 Kid).

Shot at RAF Greenham Common in Newbury, the video, directed by Charlie Lightening (Oasis, Pink, Robbie Williams), captures every inch of the song’s euphoria and provides the perfect backdrop for a song that is set to capture the nation. Watch here

James comments; “I wanted to write an upbeat and positive song that people could have a party to,” says James Newman. “ It’s about the spark between people who love each other. Just because you don’t see the people you care about all the time, doesn’t mean that spark isn’t there.”

Last year James co-wrote ‘My Last Breath’ with acclaimed British songwriters Ed Drewett, Iain James and Adam Argyle which was the song entered by the UK in last year’s competition before it was postponed. James released his debut EP ‘The Things We Do’ in Summer 2020 and ended the year with another new collaboration with Armin Van Buuren, ‘Slow Lane’. Whilst in lockdown, James contracted Coronavirus, but is through the other side and has recovered, focusing now on this year’s Eurovision and looking forward to more offerings of new music in 2021.

James is a hugely successful Brit Award winning and Grammy nominated songwriter. He won a Brit for British Single of the Year (2014) for ‘Waiting All Night’, performed by Rudimental and Ella Eyre. He has also written hit singles ‘Lay It All On Me’ performed by Rudimental ft Ed Sheeran, ‘Blame’ performed by Calvin Harris ft. John Newman, and ‘Therapy, performed by Armin Van Buuren and James Newman.

Now that ‘Embers’ has arrived, expect more new music this year from James as he steps out into the spotlight in his own right as one of the UK’s finest songwriters.

DADDY’S HOME

Out May 14, 2021 on Loma Vista Recordings

SEE or HEAR “Pay Your Way in Pain”

“Daddy’s Home collects stories of being down and out in downtown NYC.  Last night’s heels on the morning train. Glamour that’s been up for three days straight.”—St. Vincent

Daddy’s Home, the sixth album from Annie Clark a/k/a St. Vincent, is the latest facet of an ever-evolving artist regarded by many as the most consistently innovative and intriguing presence in modern music.

Annie Clark made her recorded debut as St. Vincent in 2007 with Marry Me. Her subsequent albums would grow in stature and complexity, including Actor (2009), Strange Mercy (2011), and the self-titled fourth album that won the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album, making her only the second female artist ever to win in that category. In addition to these solo works, St. Vincent plays nice with others: Her collaborations have included an album with David Byrne (2012’s Love This Giant), a performance as singer and lead guitarist of Nirvana at the band’s 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, and a 2019 GRAMMY Awards duet with Dua Lipa.

In 2017, working with co-producer Jack Antonoff, St. Vincent created a defining statement with MASSEDUCTION. As ambitious as it was accessible, the album broke St. Vincent into the U.S. and UK top 10s while landing at #1 on the Best of 2017 lists of The New York Times and The Guardian—and placing high in the year-end rankings of The AV Club, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, Mashable, The New York Daily News, the NME, Paste, Pitchfork, Q, Stereogum, USA Today, and more.

St. Vincent’s 2018 album, MassEducation, revealed another dimension of MASSEDUCTION. Recorded live in the studio by Annie on vocals and Thomas Bartlett on piano over two nights in August 2017, the album lays bare the exquisite songcraft of its other half, rendering songs like “Slow Disco” and “Savior” and their subjects in vivid, vulnerable new light.

In the winter of 2019, as MASSEDUCTION’s title track won the GRAMMY for Best Rock Song and the album won Best Recording Package, St. Vincent’s father was released from prison. She began writing the songs that would become Daddy’s Home, closing the loop on a journey that began with his incarceration in 2010, and ultimately led her back to the vinyl her dad had introduced her to during her childhood.  The records she has probably listened to more than any other music in her entire life. Music made in sepia-toned downtown New York from 1971-1975.

Gritty.

Grimy.

Sleazy.

Preceded by a foreboding teaser, the first full broadcast from St. Vincent’s synthesis of this era reaches us in the form of “Pay Your Way In Pain,” a slinky slab of sweaty funk—punctuated by a few examples of Clark’s ability to shred vocal cords rivaling her shredding on her signature Ernie Ball Music Man guitar. The song plays like the result of time travelers from the future having booked a session Electric Lady in the early 70s. The video for “Pay Your Way In Pain,” directed by Bill Benz (director of the forthcoming The Nowhere Inn, co-written by and starring St. Vincent), opens up Daddy’s Home’s visual world—a world in which the most forward-looking artist of an era throws herself willingly into a network TV variety hour rabbit hole.

Daddy’s Home is out May 14, 2021 on Loma Vista Recordings. Pre-Save the album now, or pre-order your choice of 8-track (if you know, you know…), CD, Vinyl, Deluxe Vinyl, and Cassette. Or visit https://lnk.ilovestvincent.com/Shop to pre-order exclusive picture disc, merchandise and more.

The album was produced by Annie Clark and Jack Antonoff, recorded by Laura Sisk, mixed by Cian Riordan, and mastered by Chris Gehringer. The music was performed by Annie, Jack, Cian, Thomas, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhard, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.

And Candy Darling lived within and presided over it all.

“And your wig, blonde, rolls home waving from the latest uptown train

I never wanna leave your perfect candy dream

So candy darling I brought bodega roses for your feet and candy my sweet I hope you will be coming home to me”

… Daddy’s Home.

New Single ‘Forever After All’

BBC Radio 2 House Music Session for Ken Bruce

Luke to perform ‘Forever After All’ & ‘Refrigerator Door’ with BBC Concert Orchestra
March 12th, 2021

After making its radio 2 debut this morning with Ken Bruce, currently the best-selling country artist in the UK, Luke Combs, today announces his new single ‘Forever After All’, taken from his US chart topping, record breaking, deluxe album What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. Listen here.

Luke will be taking part in BBC Radio 2’s House Music Sessions for Ken Bruce on March 12th, where he will perform ‘Forever After All’ & ‘Refrigerator Door’ alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra. All of this activity marks a year since what would have been a hands down rapturous headline slot at 2020’s C2C Festival.

As well as being the biggest US country artist in the UK, his debut album This One’s For You has smashed 100,000 UK sales, and What You See Is What You Get (including the deluxe version) is fast approaching 75,000 sales. The releases have also spawned five tracks featured on the BBC Radio 2 playlist, and it was recently announced that Luke has been nominated in three categories at the 56th ACM Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year (“Does To Me” feat. Eric Church).

It continues to be a groundbreaking time for Luke Combs, whose global No. 1 record, What You See Is What You Get, is newly certified RIAA double Platinum. The award-winning album’s 18 tracks along with five new songs are also featured on Combs’ new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, which debuted No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well as Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

Additionally, the deluxe album’s song, “Forever After All,” landed at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart—the highest entrance ever for a male country solo artist. With the release, Combs also reached No. 1 on Rolling Stone ’s Top 200 Albums chart, Top 100 Songs chart and Artists 500 chart—the first country artist ever to lead all three charts in the same week and first to top the Artists 500.

Combs also recently made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks. The achievement comes as What You See Is What You Get topped the chart for the 25th time earlier this summer, while his 2017 debut, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1—tying the record for the longest reign atop the chart with Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997.

Additional notable achievements and recognitions:

  • Winner of two awards at the 54th Annual CMA Awards: Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get)
  • Winner of two awards at the 55th ACM Awards: Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get) and Male Artist of the Year
  • Won three awards at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards: Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album (What You See Is What You Get)
  • Recent winner of three iHeartRadio Music Awards: Country Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get) and Country Song of the Year (“Beautiful Crazy”)
  • Only country artist to perform on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” Season 45

  • This One’s For You is certified RIAA Triple Platinum and was also the most-streamed country album of 2019.
  • All five songs on his The Prequel EP charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Top 25—a feat not accomplished by any artist in 60 years since Johnny Cash in 1959.

Release ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ ft. Grammy-Nominated Country Star Cam

New Album ‘Invitation’ Out Now

Rescheduled UK Tour This November

Everyone’s favourite sisters, Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, release a cracking new mix of album highlight ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’, featuring Grammy-nominated US country star Cam. The track originally appeared on their acclaimed recent album ‘Invitation’.

Mixed by Dan Grech (George Ezra, The Killers, Halsey), Ward Thomas’ new take on ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ is strikingly rhythmic. Cam adds a further touch of country class to proceedings as her voice effortlessly blends with Catherine and Lizzy.

“We’ve always loved the idea of having another vocalist on ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’,” Ward Thomas said. “We love Cam’s music and songwriting skills, but also admire her attitude as a Nashville artist on many issues close to our hearts. To have her sing on one of our songs is a real treat.”

Listen to ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ ft. Cam HERE and watch the lyric video HERE

Cam, who has written songs for Sam Smith and Miley Cyrus, released her third album, ‘The Otherside’, last year to critical acclaim. Her double-platinum GRAMMY, CMA and ACM-nominated single, ‘Burning House’, remains the bestselling country song by a female solo artist since its release in 2015.

Of the track Cam said, “I love and miss the UK country community so much! I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with Lizzy & Catherine over the years and I just adore them and their killer harmonies. So of course I couldn’t say no when they asked me to join them on this addictive tune.”

‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ was co-written by Catherine and Lizzy with British writers Fiona Bevan and Hight. The track was also produced by Hight who has recently had significant Top10 airplay and sales success in Germany and co-wrote the latest offering from rising star Zoe Wees. The rest of “Invitation” was largely produced by Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi, Tom Walker, Finley Quaye), and mostly recorded in lockdown from Catherine and Lizzy’s Hampshire cottage; ’Invitation’ represents an exciting new chapter for Ward Thomas.

Ward Thomas will embark on an intimate “Invitation” acoustic tour, which has been rescheduled for November 2021. The 16-date run includes two nights at London’s Union Chapel on the 29th & 30th.

Sets Sail In Video For Moving New Single

 ‘You Don’t Feel Like Home’

Following the release of his empowering single ‘Just Smile’ late last year, rising artist Jack In Water returns with his first taste of new music in 2021 with the poignant ‘You Don’t Feel Like Home’. The track is another preview of his forthcoming debut album, due later this year on Nettwerk Records.

Produced by Oli Bayston (Sorry, Loyle Carner, Kelly Lee Owens) and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Parquet Courts, Johnny Marr, Weezer) at Flesh and Bone Studios in East London, ‘You Don’t Feel Like Home’ is a heart-rending song directly drawn from the lust and dread of leaving home. Listen to ’You Don’t Feel Like Home’ HERE.

“I grew up in a little village where I learned how the comfort of knowing everyone and everything around you can quickly become claustrophobic. Though the fear of leaving was as big as the desire to leave I eventually did,” Will said of the track. “And it’s been only after putting some time and distance between us that I have been able to cherish my hometown again and the memories that its corners bring back every time I go there.”

Directed by award-winning film maker Chuchie Hill (Anthony and the Johnsons), the accompanying video is the next chapter in the story following ‘Just Smile’. “The video is a cinematic representation of the journey from my childhood to where I am now,” William says of the video. “You start somewhere that feels very small and you go through all the confusion and darkness trying to figure out who you are and where you belong. Then you essentially realise no one has any idea what they are doing and you find some kind of humbling warmth and acceptance in the unknown!”

Brought up in a little village in Essex, Jack In Water is the alias of singer-songwriter William Clapson. Growing up listening to the diverse musical influences of his parents, it was this mix of art-rock melancholy instrumentation partnered with the emotional soulful voices of the greats, which really drove him to make the music he makes today. With a string of releases under his belt, Jack In Water is definitely one not to let pass you by in 2021.

RELEASE SECOND EPISODE OF ALIVE FROM WHISPERING PINES

Lord Huron have revealed a new single and official music video for ‘Not Dead Yet’ – out now on Polydor. The video finds the band performing in the Whispering Pines studio, where time seems to blur and the long-lost musicians who previously occupied the studio merge with present day. Watch the video here.

A mysterious figure WBUB host Mr. Tubbs Tarbell commented on the video and new track with excitement: “On “Not Dead Yet”, the boys channel the spirits of Whispering Pines for 3 minutes of rip roarin’ euphony. Dang!”

The song and music video arrived in tandem with the second installment of their four-part series—Alive From Whispering Pines.

During its first episode, viewers were introduced to Mr. Tubbs Tarbell, fell under the spell of commercials that may very well be lost tapes from the past, and were treated to some incredible performances by Lord Huron.

The band played some old songs including “Meet Me In The Woods” (view video here) and provided a sneak peak at some new songs. The episode also featured a hotline where fans could call in and ask Mr. Tarbell questions and request songs from the band for Episode 2. Last night’s performance included some fan favorites and even an unreleased song called “Mine Forever.”

The next Alive From Whispering Pines will take place on March 18th. Fans can purchase tickets to each livestream, a season pass to all four shows, and exclusive merch at http://www.lordhuron.com. Two more installments will premiere monthly, with the last episode airing on April 15th.

In 2018, Lord Huron earned widespread critical acclaim and their first Top 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200 with their third album, Vide Noir. A cinematic collection of pensive, provocative, and powerful rock, the record garnered praise from The Guardian, Uncut, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, as well as NPR, Time, Los Angeles Times, Spin, Stereogum, Refinery29, UPROXX, and more, as singles such as “Wait by the River and “When the Night is Over” generated tens of millions of streams and were performed to a sold out London Roundhouse.

“Not Dead Yet” marks the band’s first new music since their 2018. What could be in store for the band next? Only time will tell…

Luke Royalty

Rising Darlington Artist Releases New Single ‘I Do’

In a year that needs more than a glimmer of hope, we introduce you to one of the UK’s finest rising young artists, Luke Royalty. Luke, who burst onto the scene with his single ‘I Could Get Used To This’ ft. Sweets last year, releases his brand-new track ‘I Do’ today via Soul Kitchen Recordings. The trackis the first taste of what Luke has to come in 2021.

Produced by friend and long time collaborator Bob Mackenzie at Motor Museum studios in Liverpool, ‘I Do’ is Luke Royalty at his most vulnerable. Written about the pains and struggles ofbeing stuck in a repetitive lifestyle, the trackis a raw and honest look into Luke’s life in Darlington and being stuck in an endless cycle. With his lyrics flowing at easeover neo-soul guitars and a laid back beat, ‘I Do’ is a trackmade for late nights and early mornings.

Speaking of the song Luke said, “I wrote the lyrics for ‘I do’, ironically, before lockdown. My northern heritage is something that’s so important to me and I’m proud of where I come from, so I took influence from lyricists like Mike Skinner and slowthai in not being ashamed of your lifestyle, accent or slang and tried to stay as authentic as I could.”

Hailing from Darlington in the North East of England, Luke came from a creative family of artistsand musicians. He, however, avoided dabbling in music until his late teens, preferring to spend his time playing Sunday League football and following his beloved Darlington FC. Upon finding influence in the likes of Mike Skinner, Mac Miller and Frank Ocean, Luke got drawn into the culture of turning his words to music and the rest is history in the making.

Having already garnered support from key players including BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio (‘I Could Get Used To This’ ft. Sweets was added straight to the B list), Luke looks set to be one of the breakout acts of 2021.
