ON TOUR IN THE UK AND EUROPE WITH THE BLACK KEYS

‘Lucifer on the Sofa is hands down one of the best rock albums released in the last few years; deeply inspired by the place it was written and recorded in, and full of honest and relatable introspection.’ – Loud & Quiet 9/10

“An album of breath-taking intensity…an instant classic” UNCUT

“Lucifer On The Sofa puts nary a foot wrong, its rich songwriting enlivened by thrilling flourishes…Elvis Costello on the streets, ZZ Top between the sheets” – MOJO 4*

‘It’s an album fuelled by southern heat, with plenty of grit to boot.’ […] ‘Tension operates on a knife’s edge throughout the record. Its rootsy blues grit has you thinking of gun holsters and twitching fingers; the bass gives an eyelid’s tremor as it narrows towards its target.’ […] ‘By a band’s 10th album, you’d assume there’d have been at least a few misfires. Not from Spoon.’ – Independent 5*

Out digitally today, Memory Dust features three brand new Spoon recordings – the original songs “Sugar Babies” and “Silver Girl,” plus a cover of Bo Diddley’s “She’s Fine, She’s Mine.” Listen HERE

Tomorrow, the band will kick off a run of dates that include slots supporting The Black Keys in the UK, France, and Germany. In August, they’ll be back on the road in the US touring alongside Weezer on the west coast. And in December, Spoon will visit Australia and New Zealand as guests of The War on Drugs. Find a complete rundown below.

Spoon play the following UK dates. Further details HERE.

June

Tues 20th London, Islington Assembly Hall SOLD-OUT

Weds 21st London, The O2*

Thur 22nd Manchester, AO Arena*

Sat 24th Glasgow, OVO Hydro*

The songs on Memory Dust aren’t b-sides. The recordings began during sessions for Spoon’s Grammy-nominated album, Lucifer on the Sofa, but were left unfinished. Following the record’s release and at the tail end of a year-plus of intense touring, the band came back to the sketches with renewed energy and fresh perspective. The completed tracks retain a touch of Lucifer’s character – rock ’n roll music, played in real-time – but stretch out hypnotically.

Lucifer on the Sofa is Spoon’s 10th album and its purest rock and roll record to date. Texas-made, it is the first set of songs that the quintet has put to tape in its hometown of Austin in more than a decade. The album has since swept 2022 year-end lists and returned the band to No. 1 on Billboard’s AAA chart for the first time in five years.

Latest Album The Alchemist’s Euphoria Out Now

UK Summer Festival Headline Dates

Mesmerising Lyric Video In Collaboration with Uncanny Studio HERE

Ahead of a string of huge UK festival headline dates this summer, Kasabian today release their joyously poppy new single ’Algorithms’listen here. Arriving as a standalone, fresh new offering, the track follows the band’s 2022 chart topping, acclaimed album The Alchemist’s Euphoria, out now on Columbia Records.

‘Algorithms’, a fresh new sound steeped in Kasabian’s trademark anthemic glory, addresses the pitfalls of the recent emergence of artificial intelligence in today’s society. “They’ll never feel love like us”, denounces Serge as he contemplates a future void of empathy. The record is co- produced with Mark Ralph (Years & Years, Hot Chip and Bad Boy Chiller Crew).

Serge further explains; ‘Algorithms’ is a song that explores the idea that robots can’t experience emotion and being in the moment, whereas humans can, and that is the beauty that separates us…for now.”

In a fitting collaboration, Kasabian partnered up with digital designers Uncanny, for the mesmerising lyric video – watch here. Uncanny is the studio practice of Elliott Elder and George Muncey, with designer Ewan Leslie brought on-board specifically for this project.

“The track distinguishes the difference between human and machine thought/emotion, so we employed a design process that makes a point of both physical and digital techniques wherever possible. Typesetting the artwork, preparing the video on screen, and then physically scanning the artwork and re-filming the animation with hand drawn markings overlaid.” they explain.

Facial animations were created by feeding a neural network imagery of Kasabian themselves, asking it to dream up beings that exist latently between the band. The final file was then re-filmed on a bespoke display, not illuminated by RGB pixels but instead magnets, physically moving coloured particles around the screen.”

Known for their blistering live shows, Kasabian head out on a run of UK festival headline dates this summer, including an Eden Sessions show, Sounds Of The City, Y Not Festival and Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival.

AI may be taking over, but as ‘Algorithms’ so eloquently describes, it will never beat the human heart.

SEPTEMBER UK & IRELAND HEADLINE DATES
PLAY LONDON’S PALLADIUM SEPTEMBER 20TH 2023

UK IN STORE SIGNINGS & PERFORMANCES ANNOUNCED

Dexys today release their superb new track ‘Coming Home’ – the next installment, and lead single, from their eagerly anticipated new album The Feminine Divine – out July 28th on 100% Records.

Capping off the first half of the new record, ‘Coming Home’ is yet another song written in the early ‘90s with Big Jim Paterson, and is a triumphant declaration of frontman Kevin Rowland’s return to his true self.

“Coming Home is about rising up out of a slump. In the album narrative, the protagonist has passed through some very dark times but he is now enjoying positivity and peace. He’s embracing a new-found connectedness: to the universe, to other people, and to his true self.” Listen to ‘Coming Home’ HERE.

The track follows the album’s glorious first two singles, ‘I’m Going To Get Free’ & title track ‘The Feminine Divine’.

The Feminine Divine is Dexys fifth album of original material produced once again by Pete Schwier, along with acclaimed session musician and producer Toby Chapman. After taking some time out to refocus his energy, Kevin Rowland came back to music with a fresh perspective and new-found positivity. A personal, if not strictly autobiographical, record portraying a man whose views have evolved over time. Not just on women, but the whole concept of masculinity he had been raised with: an education and an un-learning that is traced across the arc of The Feminine Divine with dizzying effect.

The record’s first act is full of music hall-esque swagger, much of it written with original Dexys’ trombonist Big Jim Paterson. The second half of the musical narrative is like nothing Dexys have done before. A saucy, synth-heavy cabaret, written in collaboration with Sean Read and Mike Timothy. It’s steamy, fizzing and sultry, at times heavy and at other times raunchy and funky. Quite a heady mix.

With over a billion worldwide streams, three top 10 albums in the UK, two number 1 singles, a Brit Award and a multi-platinum selling album with their sophomore release Too-Rye-Ay (as Dexys Midnight Runners), Dexys are as vital and exciting today as ever. The Feminine Divine marks a new chapter in a book that just keeps getting better and better.

Dexys recently announced a full UK and European tour for September / October. They’ve now added a special run of in-stores signings and performances where Kevin Rowland and Mike Timothy will perform tracks from the new album plus some old favourites. Full dates below and tickets on-sale HERE

Debut Album, When Horses Would Run, Out July 14th on Bayonet

‘A brilliant slice of psyche garage rock.’1883 Magazine

Austin, Texas-based Trio Being Dead present new single/video, ‘Last Living Buffalo,’ from their forthcoming debut album, When Horses Would Run, out July 14th on Bayonet.

Being Dead is here to create worlds where we can soak in stories of carefree shoplifters, wayward cowboys, and — today — the final moments of a lonely Buffalo on the range. ‘Last Living Buffalo’ continues exploring the electric alchemy of Being Dead’s signature blend of surf rock, frantic punk, and freak pop. It is, in founding member Gumball’s words, “about the universal human fear of being alone and/or being skinned alive.” Listen to ‘Last Living Buffalo’ HERE.

When Horses Would Run — the debut album from best friends Falcon B*tch, Gumball, and Ricky Moto — propels listeners into vivid landscapes: desert planes, dirty basements, and lush rolling hills.  They began writing what would eventually become When Horses Would Run back in 2017, with Falcon B*tch likening the album to a kind of collage of Being Dead so far. “This is definitely a collection of songs from different versions of ourselves,” she says. Recorded at Radio Milk with producer/engineer Jim Vollentine (Spoon, White Denim), When Horses Would Run spit-shines Being Dead’s sound without diminishing their weirdo-best-friend vibes.

“Our music is really a slice of our friendship,” says Falcon B*tch. “We’ve lived together and we’re always together and I feel like it’s a palpable thing.” The nurturing foundation of these platonic soulmates urges Being Dead to be their full, freaky selves, prodding at the absurdity of the world with slick n’ dreamy strums, gritty percussion, and kaleidoscopic harmonies. At their renowned live shows, Falcon B*tch and Gumball both sing and swap duties on baritone guitar and drums, commanding the attention of even the most passive concert-goers. Underlined by bassist Ricky Moto, the band prances merrily into the hearts of everyone from the roughest and toughest barbarians to the most angelic little babies.

This spontaneous, gung-ho approach marks a refreshing originality in Being Dead. When Horses Would Run celebrates the nourishing merriment of friendship, the importance of enjoying the here and now, and creating simply for the hell of it. Here we have a reminder that we can not only move through the burdens of our past, but we can have company —and fun —while doing it.

THE SECOND SINGLE OFF THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS (OUT AUGUST 11TH)

VIDEO PREMIERES TODAY AT 18:00 BST HERE & LISTEN HERE

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS HERE

CURRENTLY ON UK STADIUM TOUR WITH ARCTIC MONKEYS

PLAY OTHER STAGE AT GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL JUNE 23RD

“A collection of 12 high-energy punk-ish songs reminiscent of their best work” – Rolling Stone

Currently tearing up stadiums across the UK with Arctic Monkeys, The Hives have released brand new single ‘Countdown to Shutdown,’ the second off their highly anticipated album The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, which arrives August 11 via FUGA.

‘Countdown To Shutdown’ is a fiery track with menacing guitar riffs and electric vocals from frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist. It follows “good old-fashioned rock stomper” (Vulture) “Bogus Operandi,” which earned widespread critical acclaim. The band performed both songs live via a special for Howard Stern’s Sirius XM channel last week. Listen to ‘Countdown To Shutdown’ HERE.

Of the track, Howlin’ Pelle says, “The countdown to the financial collapse? The countdown to the weekend bender you’ve been waiting for? The countdown to your favourite sports competition? The Hives have you covered with Countdown To Shutdown. A versatile banger for all your summer rock needs. Approximately 37% more effective than the closest competitor and sure to help your Q2 and Q3 results. Buy now and watch the stock rise!”

The new single’s release is accompanied by a raucous video directed by SNASK (Viagra Boys), where The Hives peer in from outside the floor-to-ceiling glass doors of a stifling corporate office. As the suited-up executives perform the track, the band bursts in and hijacks the show, taking complete, explosive control. Watch the video at 18:00 BST June 13th HERE.

Last month, the band arrived Stateside for a series of incredible NYC and LA underplays that sold out in less than 60 seconds, as well as a set at Just Like Heaven festival. The band is currently on a UK/European tour supporting Arctic Monkeys, which will be followed by a string of headline European dates.

The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons will be available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl. A special limited edition glow in the dark gatefold vinyl with poster will be available exclusively via the band’s own webstore.

In the twenty-five years since The Hives exploded around the world, they have sold out stadiums and shared stages with everyone from AC/DC to The Rolling Stones. SPIN calls The Hives “the best live band on the planet” and Howlin’ Pelle “the greatest frontman in rock,” and the BBC dubbed the band “a force of nature.” Rolling Stone named Veni Vidi Vicious one of the Top 100 Albums of the decade and “Hate To Say I Told You So” earned a spot on Pitchfork’s Top 500 Songs of the 2000’s. They have sold millions of albums world-wide with multiple RIAA Gold-certifications. In the time since Lex Hives, the band has released 2019’s double A-side “I’m Alive”/“Good Samaritan” as well as a live album via Third Man Records, and embarked on a series of global tours. The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons marks a true renaissance.

The Hives are Chris Dangerous, Vigilante Carlstroem, Nicholaus Arson, Howlin’ Pelle, and The Johan And Only.

Out 4th August 2023

Sony Music Entertainment will continue the Depeche Mode 12″ vinyl singles project with the release of Sounds Of The Universe | The 12″ Singles on 4 August 2023.

Sounds Of The Universe | The 12″ Singles, a deluxe collector’s edition box set, contains seven 12″ vinyl discs presenting singles–including Wrong, Peace, the double A-side Fragile Tension/Hole To Feed–alongside B-sides, remixes, dub versions and other recordings contemporaneous to Depeche Mode’s 12th studio album, Sounds Of The Universe, originally released by Mute Records in April 2009.

Sounds Of The Universe | The 12″ Singles offers a full range of ear-grabbing mixes–radio, club, dub and more–of Depeche Mode originals with three discs (Discs Two, Four and Seven) newly compiled for this collection, bringing together B-sides and mixes first released across CD and maxi-singles contemporaneous to the album’s release.

When it came time to record the Sounds Of The Universe album, DM’s classic core (Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher) returned to the studio to make their second album with producer Ben Hillier, whose intuitive contributions to their previous studio album, 2005’s Playing The Angel, had created new sonic possibilities for the band. Sounds Of The Universe expanded Depeche Mode’s vision and repertoire while continuing their tradition of issuing monumental 12″ singles to supplement and compliment their album releases.

From their earliest days as a band, Depeche Mode have championed 12″ vinyl, embracing the format’s singular power and potential for innovation. The 12″ single allowed the band to explore new sonic possibilities while the tactile real-world beauty of physical packaging gave Depeche Mode room to develop their consistently sophisticated and commanding design aesthetic. Depeche Mode have used their singles discography as a means of offering fans the opportunity to enjoy left field remixes, rare B-sides, standout concert performances and other exclusive delights.

Sony Music Entertainment released the first two box sets in the Depeche Mode 12″ singles series–Speak & Spell | The Singles and A Broken Frame | The Singles–in August 2018 with the second batch–Construction Time Again | The 12″ Singles and Some Great Reward | The 12″ Singles–arriving in December 2018. SME released Depeche Mode’s Black Celebration | The 12″ Singles and Music For The Masses | The 12″ Singles on 31 May 2019. 2020 saw the release of Violator | The 12″ Singles in July and Songs Of Faith And Devotion | The 12″ Singles in October. The ninth collection in the series, Ultra | The 12″ Singles was released on 27 September 2021 with the tenth volume, Exciter | The 12″ Singles, arriving on 10 June 2022. The 11th volume in the series, Playing The Angel | The 12″ Singles, was released in November 2022.

Each box set in the series contains the singles from an individual Depeche Mode album pressed on audiophile-quality 12″ vinyl. The artwork for the exterior of each of the box sets draws on iconography inspired by the original releases, while the vinyl sleeves themselves feature the original single artwork.

Sounds Of The Universe | The 12″ Singles is the chronological 12th volume in SME’s Depeche Mode 12″ Singles Series with plans to release Delta Machine and Spirit box sets in similar deluxe audio-grade collector’s editions over the next 12 months.

First Single ‘Last One On My Mind’ – Out Now
LISTEN
HERE

Biggest Ever UK Headline Tour – October / November 2023
Includes London Palladium – November 14th

Crowning her 50th birthday celebrations in style, the undoubted Queen of British Soul Beverley Knight releases a new studio album, The Fifth Chapter – September 29th on Tag8/BMG.

No stranger to the spotlight, Beverley can do it all. An Olivier award-winning star of the West End stage, Saturday night TV regular on the latest series of Starstruck, and an astounding singer with a prolific music career. She finds herself aged 50, bigger than ever.

Partnering with a wealth of songwriting talent including Diane Warren, Seb Coe, Ollie Green and Andrew Roachford, as well as being co-produced with the likes of Jimmy Hogarth, AC Burrell, Mitch Allen & Josh Cohen/DJ Waldie, Beverley’s first collection of new music in seven years is a spectacular journey through the inspirations that have defined her incredible career.

Beverley explains; “My new album covers the kaleidoscope of my soul influences from disco, R&B, funk, gospel through to northern soul and big ballades. Maintaining a dual career in acting meant that for the first time I stepped back from my usual songwriting to allow some of the world’s greatest songwriters to scribe my thoughts. This album is a true team effort of incredible talents for which I am truly grateful.

The album’s first offering, ‘Last One On My Mind’ is a slice of stunning contemporary soul-pop – listen HERE. “Last One On My Mind is a sassy no nonsense but joyous sounding song with a big nod to modern disco,” Beverley notes. “It’s about taking your power back from a former lover and striding into the future. It gets in you and stays there.”

Beverley will take on her biggest ever UK tour to date, which has almost sold out already, performing twenty very special headline dates across the UK throughout October & November, to over 30,000 people. This past weekend she kicked off festival season headlining The Mighty Hoopla’s second stage. Back together with her live band, expect fun-filled nights where she will perform all of her classic hits, fan favourites along with brand new songs.

Beverley has had several Top 10 albums and sold over a million albums in the UK, with four gold-certified. Her most recent studio album Soulsville went straight into the UK Top 10.

In recent years, Wolverhampton born Knight has forged a formidable parallel career in theatre. Her West End debut was the starring role in The Bodyguard followed by leading the Tony winning Memphis The Musical. At the request of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber she joined the cast of Cats, playing the iconic role of Grizabella. 2021 saw Beverley lead The Drifters Girl at the Garrick Theatre as the formidable manager of soul group The Drifters, which was Olivier nominated Best New Musical, and Beverley for Best Actress.

Starring to huge acclaim as Emmeline Pankhurst in Sylvia at The Old Vic, Beverley won Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the Olivier Awards in April. The show also received nominations for Best New Musical and Best Choreographer.

A British treasure, Beverley was awarded an MBE in 2007 for services to British music and charity, has won three MOBO Awards, been nominated for Best Female at the Brit Awards 3 times, Best Actress at the Olivier Awards twice, and Best Female at the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

Beverley was also recently on screen Saturday nights as a panel judge in ITV’s talent series Starstruck. Broadcasting work beyond this hit show include presenting 4 series of Radio 2 show ‘Beverley’s Gospel Nights’ and two series of the BBC1 show Just the Two of Us. She recently appeared in the all star cast of Amazon’s new live action movie Cinderella (2021) with Camilla Cabello in the title role.

“I feel as though I am about to step into a whole new level of wonder because I have come into my power”, concludes Beverley. “My career is not a big shiny billboard poster that gets replaced with the next star in waiting. Mine is a novel, and I just entered the Fifth and most exciting chapter of it.”

Epic 10-minute Fourth Track From Upcoming Album Now Available

Short Film Directed by Tony Oursler Live Now

But Here We Are Out June 2nd

“Hey kid, what’s the plan for tomorrow?

Where will I wake up?”

Foo Fighters introduce you to ‘The Teacher’, the epic 10-minute fourth track to be released in advance of the band’s 11th album, But Here We Are, out June 2 on Roswell Records/Columbia Records.

‘The Teacher’ complements the primal scream of ‘Rescued’, the bittersweet punk/pop-tinged rock of ‘Under You’ and the serene dream pop of ‘Show Me How’ with a bold new dimension of Foo Fighters’ sonic identity.

Both the longest song the band has ever recorded and arguably the shortest 10 minutes in rock history, ‘The Teacher’ builds from an understated Dave Grohl and guitar intro, layering impressionistic lyrical refrains onto a series of crescendos, peaks and valleys, before saying goodbye in a blaze of audio overload. A rock epic in the truest sense, ‘The Teacher’ is like nothing the band has done before, yet instantly identifiable as Foo Fighters.

In other previously unexplored territory for Foo Fighters, ‘The Teacher’ scores a short film directed by multimedia artist Tony Oursler. Known since the late 1970s for his body of work spanning video, sculpture, installation, performance, and painting, Oursler came to Foo Fighters’ attention via his work with David Bowie, specifically his video for Bowie’s landmark January 2013 single ‘Where Are We Now?’.

The resultant collaboration is a beautifully disorienting array of emotive non-linear imagery that transcends boundaries of time and space in its telling of the enigmatic tale of ‘The Teacher’. If ‘The Teacher’ is Foo Fighters as you’ve never heard them, Oursler’s visual interpretation is certainly Foo Fighters as they’ve never been seen before – learn for yourself at https://foofighters.lnk.to/TheTeacher/youtube

Goodbye.”

NEW MEMOIR DON’T TELL ANYONE THE SECRETS I TOLD YOU

RECEIVES CRITICAL PRAISE AND DEBUTS AT

#5 ON NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERS

Acclaimed, pioneering artist Lucinda Williams has released the stunning new song ‘Where the Song Will Find Me’ from her triumphant album Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart (out June 30th via Highway 20 Records/Thirty Tigers).

In November 2020, William suffered a stroke that partially impaired some of her motor skills on the left side of her body. Through hard work and sheer determination, she learned to walk again, but her ability to play the guitar has not yet returned, which is how the multi-Grammy Award-winner wrote the beloved songs in her revered canon.

Complete with a beautiful orchestral arrangement by Lawrence Rothman, ‘Where the Song Will Find Me’ offers an emotional and inspirational message from Williams that despite any setbacks, she will always continue to make music, by any means necessary. Listen to “Where the Song Will Find Me” HERE.

Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart was produced by Williams, Tom Overby and Ray Kennedy, who also engineered. The album includes guest backing vocals by Jeremy Ivey, Jesse Malin, Buddy Miller, Angel Olsen, Margo Price, Patti Scialfa, Bruce Springsteen and Tommy Stinson.

In April, Williams released her long-awaited memoir Don’t Tell Anybody The Secrets I Told You (Crown, a division of Penguin Random House LLC) to wide critical acclaim. The memoir debuted at #5 on the New York Times Bestsellers and was was featured on the cover of the New York Times Sunday Styles. Williams was featured at Vanity Fair, NPR All Things Considered, The Associated Press, Esquire, The Nation and much more including a recent sit down on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Williams will be the subject of an upcoming feature segment on CBS Sunday Morning.

About Swedish House Mafia:
In 2008, a trio of individual artists, DJs, and producers united to unassumingly break every rule in electronic music. Ensconced in flames, Swedish House Mafia—Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell—infused house music with swaggering hip-hop beat-craft, rock ‘n’ roll attitude, and big screen-worthy grandeur brought to life on stage with one legendary live show after another. Ushering dance music culture out of the warehouses and clubs and into arenas and stadiums on an unrivaled scale, it would be nearly impossible to imagine how the genre might’ve shaken out without them. They became the first electronic act to headline (and sell out) Madison Square Garden in 2011 and the first to grace the main stage at Coachella in 2012. They garnered two consecutive GRAMMY® nominations in the category of “Best Dance Recording” for the platinum “Save the World” in 2012 and quintuple-platinum Hot 100 Top 10 hit “Don’t You Worry Child” in 2013. Rolling Stone described their meteoric rise as “redefining rave culture, and NME christened them “the rockstars of the dance music world. The marathon record-breaking One Last Tour paved the way for a five-year break before they returned as surprise headliners of Ultra Music Festival’s 20th anniversary in 2018. Following the Save The World Reunion Tour a year later, this holy trinity of electronic music gods focused on the one thing they hadn’t done yet, making their 2022 full-length debut album Paradise Again [Republic Records]. Their return was announced with the cover of Billboard and garnered immediate press and a late-night television performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon followed with a trending hit “A Moth To A Flame” featuring The Weeknd. Upon arrival, it bowed in the Top 10 of seven global charts, seizing #1 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and #1 on the UK Dance Albums Chart. Moreover, it attracted some of the highest critical praise of the group’s storied career thus far from Pitchfork, NME, and more. It only hints at more to come.
