2024 UK HEADLINE TOUR ALREADY CLOSE TO SELLING OUT!

“A collection of 12 high-energy punk-ish songs reminiscent of their best work” – Rolling Stone

After tearing up stadiums across the UK with Arctic Monkeys, as well as a monumental Other Stage performance at Glastonbury Festival last month, The Hives release their brand new single ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’ – the third off their highly anticipated album The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, which arrives August 11th via FUGA.

A sheer stomper, ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’ is nothing short of a swaggering singalong constantly shifting gears. It follows the sublime previous singles “Bogus Operandi” and “Countdown To Shutdown”. Listen to ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’ HERE.

The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons will be available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl. A special limited edition glow in the dark gatefold vinyl with poster will be available exclusively via the band’s own webstore.

In the twenty-five years since The Hives exploded around the world, they have sold out stadiums and shared stages with everyone from AC/DC to The Rolling Stones. SPIN calls The Hives “the best live band on the planet” and Howlin’ Pelle “the greatest frontman in rock,” and the BBC dubbed the band “a force of nature.” Rolling Stone named Veni Vidi Vicious one of the Top 100 Albums of the decade and “Hate To Say I Told You So” earned a spot on Pitchfork’s Top 500 Songs of the 2000’s. They have sold millions of albums world-wide with multiple RIAA Gold-certifications. In the time since Lex Hives, the band has released 2019’s double A-side “I’m Alive”/“Good Samaritan” as well as a live album via Third Man Records, and embarked on a series of global tours. The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons marks a true renaissance.

Kicking off at Leeds Academy on March 27th next year, The Hives take their famously frenzied show to 12 cities across the UK and Ireland, culminating with a date at London’s Eventim Apollo on April 13th. SINGLE ‘JUST THE ONCE’ OUT TODAY

LISTEN / WATCH HERE

Exactly one year after the release of Metric’s 2022 album Formentera, a record that the NME hailed as “one of our favorite albums of the year”, the band has surprised fans with an unannounced and unexpected part two companion album – Formentera II, set for release on October 13th via Metric Music International/Thirty Tigers

Formentera II was recorded primarily at the band’s own Main Street Studios in a rural hamlet outside Toronto from 2020-2022 and was completed at Motorbass Studios in Paris in 2023. From Main Street to Motorbass, this is Metric at their best.

Today they have revealed the first single, ‘Just The Once’- a shimmering and soulful banger featuring strings composed and arranged by Drew Jureka (Dua Lipa) and mixed by Stuart White (Beyoncé). Listen to ‘Just The Once’ here

“The only way I can describe “Just The Once”  is to call it regret disco,” says lead singer Emily Haines. “It’s a song for when you need to dance yourself clean. Beneath the sparkling surface, there’s a lyrical exploration of a simple word with many meanings. Once is a word that plays a game of opposites. Once can mean once-upon-a-time and refer to a moment in the past, or it can mean someday, once something happens. And as for doing something only once versus doing something once in a while, well, I think we all know how vast the difference is between the two.”

As was the case with Formentera, the songs of Formentera II were brought to life with Metric’s tried and true co-engineering & co-production trinity of Jimmy Shaw, Liam O’Neil, and Gus van Go, this time with the trio guiding the unpredictable process to completion from Main Street to Motorbass in Paris, the studio where some of the band’s favorite artists and sources of inspiration such as Air, Daft Punk and Sébastien Tellier have worked, in the very neighborhood Metric first visited with Olivier Assayas in 2004 when working with the director on his Cannes Palme D’Or award-winning film Clean.

The final touches that happened on Formentera II in Paris at the end of the European leg of Metric’s global Doomscroller Tour infused the album with fresh energy and made for a celebratory finish to the labyrinthine process of making these two ambitious albums during the pandemic.

Taken together, Formentera I & II embody an 18 song statement piece written and performed by a dedicated band of artists at the height of their sonic and songwriting powers. Solidifying their identity as genre-defying risk takers, as they did 20 years ago with their debut album, Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?, Metric’s ninth studio album Formentera II continues to build upon the body of work that drives the group’s urgent purpose, with Haines acting as a lighting rod at the helm, expressing and interpreting the turbulence of life in this world, giving our complex emotions a voice.

Formentera II will be released physically on CD and on limited edition marble blue vinyl as well as sea glass blue vinyl. Metric are also releasing a complete double vinyl set of both Formentera I & II on opaque white vinyl. It’s all available for pre-order now in the Metric store. Digital pre-orders are available HERE. Indie retailers will carry a limited edition clear pink version of the Formentera II  LP.

Metric is Emily Haines( vocals, keys), Jimmy Shaw( guitar), Joshua Winstead (bass guitar) and Joules Scott Key(drums). They have spent over 20 years together in creative partnership – a rare feat for any band. This September marks the 20th anniversary of Metric’s debut album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? The band resisted major label offers in favor of starting their own label and retaining control of their own material and career, and for the last two decades have found themselves on an unusual trajectory of increasing success while continuing to push their own artistic boundaries past conventional expectations.

Metric has been nominated for numerous Polaris Prizes and JUNO Awards, including five wins. Metric has appeared on The Tonight Show, The Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Later…With Jools Holland and have toured extensively, playing headline shows and festivals around the world.

Metric is currently on tour with Garbage and Noel Gallagher.

New Single ‘Woman’ – Out Now

EU / UK Headline Tour 2023
Plays London’s Brixton Electric – November 24th

Once tipped for the future, Zak Abel is now on the cusp of something special as he announces his eagerly anticipated new album Love Over Fear – out August 25th on BMG.

Zak has already had a spellbinding 2023, playing the King’s Coronation along with releasing a string of impeccable singles. Possessing one of the most impressive British male singing voices of his generation, his music emanates an instinctively soulful, funky feel, with an ability to fast-track an insatiable chorus.

Zak explains; “This new album is an expression of where I’ve been at over the last couple of years. Trying to follow optimistic, loving, positive perspectives over the ones which come from a place of fear. It’s been a slightly terrifying process of looking inwards and finding the topics that are uncomfortable to explore but evoke an emotional reaction in me. Hopefully they do the same for other people.”

The album’s latest offering, ‘Woman’, co-written with the illustrious Jamie Hartmann (Lewis Capaldi, Celeste, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man), pairs classic dance beats with unforgettable lyrics – listen HERE. “Woman is a tribute to a woman I love. She’s been an anchor that’s kept me grounded and a mirror to show me when I’m on the wrong path. Life is a lot richer with her by my side.”

Zak will take on a big UK & EU headline tour that kicks off in Aberdeen at the end of October, and will also see a date in the capital on November 24th at Brixton Electric – tickets here.

London born Zak rose to fame after providing a host of guest appearances. Freedom with Kygo (202 million streams), Beautiful Escape with Tom Misch (92 million), Ten More Days with Avicii (30 million), Bad with Don Diablo (93 million) and The Power with Duke Dumont (54 million).

After finding a love for singing aged 14, Zak started playing piano and recording himself. He was also so gifted at Table Tennis, that for a period in his mid-teens he lived in France, alone, training full-time, on the cusp of making the Team GB Olympic squad. Also having Olympic-grade melodic skills, though, meant he kept going back to music.

Many more songs followed, eventually landing him a deal with Atlantic while he was still in his teens. He could still hear what made a hit, but the brutal truth was: he was losing his hearing in his right ear.

Aged 21, before he’d had a chance to release his debut album, he was diagnosed with Otosclerosis – the overgrowth and brittleness of the stapes bone, which befell both Beethoven and Frankie Valli. That means it can’t vibrate, which means you can’t hear… anything in that ear.

He decided to go for an operation to replace the bone with an artificial implant – a high risk bet for anyone, far less a musician. The outcome was great. “About 95 per cent of my hearing on my right ear came back, in terms of volume. But music isn’t just about volume. The actual retraining of pitch, that took a while.”

Fresh and ready to conquer, enter album two: a set of flawless songs that channel his life, loves and influences like John Legend, Sam Smith and Paulo Nutini.

Zak Abel is a reborn star for 2023, and hearing is believing.

New Single: Max Richter’s ‘On The Nature Of Daylight’
Out NowLISTEN HERE

“She is much more than a gifted organist, choral conductor and social media sensation…
she’s a star on a mission” – The Sunday Times

“She had rightly become “the world’s most visible organist” – New York Times

“Imaginative, open-minded and a brilliant musician, the organist and conductor Anna Lapwood is the dream ambassador for classical music.” – Gramophone

Marking an exciting new chapter in her career, organ sensation Anna Lapwood, stands on the cusp of something special as she announces her eagerly anticipated new album Luna – out September 29th on Sony Classical.

The album follows a flurry of exciting activity this year. She picked up the prestigious RPS Gamechanger Award at The Royal Philharmonic Society Awards, celebrated the release of her stunning 5 track EP Midnight Sessions At The Royal Albert Hall, and is about to perform a solo recital as part of this year’s BBC Proms season.
An album that represents a rounded reflection of her highly impressive career to date, Luna is a fifteen-track collection of traditional classical repertoire alongside contemporary composers and new film music transcriptions. The album predominantly features Anna as an organist, but the other side of her life is showcased too, conducting the Pembroke College Chapel Choir for two of the tracks.
Anna explains: “One of the highlights of my year is the time I spend teaching music in Zambia. I love it for the people, the music & the laughter, but I also always look forward to the first time I see the Zambian night sky again. You look up and it’s just completely full of stars. Bright stars, dull stars; some twinkling, some static; some glowing orbs and others dots smaller than pinpricks. With this album, I’m imagining we’re standing there, gazing at the sky, overwhelmed by the magnitude of what we can see. I’m imagining that as we stare upwards, our minds can almost take us there, travelling through the night sky and exploring individual stars with their unique personalities and characteristics.”

Originally written by Max Richter, the album’s new offering ‘On the Nature of Daylight’, is a thought-provoking re-imagining that gives the piece an other-worldly dimension. Listen here.

“This was a piece I’ve been wanting to try on the organ for such a long time,” comments Anna. “When I started running through ideas with our producer, Jonathan Allen, he suggested adding a choir, and the moment we tried it the piece seemed to take on new life. It feels very special to be releasing this as the first single from the album as it brings together the two sides of who I am as a musician: playing the organ but also working with the amazing choirs at Pembroke.”

The 27-year-old from a small Oxfordshire village has been making waves with her exciting approach to organ playing, awakening the senses of young and old alike, opening the gateways to classical music and shining a light on an often under-appreciated instrument.

In 2022, only 8% of organ recitals in the UK were given by women. To try and encourage more women to try the organ, Anna initiated the #playlikeagirl social media hashtag, not to divide but to unite and remind women to own themselves, be themselves and find themselves through music.

Anna has spent 7 years as Director of Music at Cambridge University’s Pembroke College, running the choirs and teaching academic music. After work and as night falls, her role as Associate Artist of the Royal Albert Hall sees her granted special access to the majestic instrument while most of us are fast asleep. This has led to some spectacular spontaneous collaborations, the most famous being with electronic musician Bonobo – one late-night practice session was interrupted by a request shouted up from the stage, which turned out to come from a couple of members of Bonobo’s band. 18 hours later, she was helping them close their show to an unsuspecting audience of 5,000.

Anna continues to relive the magic of that event through her videos to her 550,000+ TikTok followers – a tool she is using with exciting results having now passed 1 million social media followers across all platforms. The power of social media gives the ability to demystify the outdated baggage the organ once carried along with it, throwing open the doors to new music, new possibilities, and new audiences.

Oscar® and Grammy®-winning singer/songwriter and Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham has announced today’s premiere of “Where My Wild Things Are,” a hauntingly beautiful and evocative new track written and recorded by Bingham in the desolate Montana wilderness, and the first release from his highly anticipated forthcoming EP, Watch Out For The Wolf.

“Where My Wild Things Are” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services here. Watch the accompanying lyric video here

Watch Out For The Wolf will arrive on August 11th via Bingham’s own label The Bingham Recording Company and partner Thirty Tigers. His first project in four years, the seven-song EP marks the acclaimed artist’s most raw and intimate work to date, serving as the follow-up to his critically acclaimed sixth studio release American Love Song

Fans can pre-order or pre-save Watch Out For The Wolf ahead of its debut here.

Ryan comments; “This collection of songs is a snapshot of a moment; a photograph capturing a time spent in the mountains of the Montana wilderness. While making this album, I went through a definite personal evolution or spiritual transformation that I can’t really explain. I know about free will, but this thing was completely out of my control. I just felt like a conduit most of the time. Creating this album in solitude was other worldly, spiritual, and sometimes just downright fucking terrifying. I recorded this album in a cabin in Montana with the equipment listed below. As my friend Terry Allen says ‘sometimes ya gotta go north, to get south.’

Guided by his signature poetic lyricism and soulful delivery, Watch Out For The Wolf is the first project produced, performed, and mixed entirely by Bingham – carving a distinctive space in the singer-songwriter’s ever-evolving catalog. Written and recorded by Bingham in the wilderness of Montana, the haunting and evocative collection of songs seamlessly intertwine to capture a moment suspended in time, filtered through the stillness and echoes of the desolate surroundings in which they were created.

Bingham is currently gearing up for a series of festival appearances including Montana’s Under The Big Sky on July 14th, Born and Raised Festival on September 15th, and Bourbon & Beyond on September 17th. He is also set to return to the set of Yellowstone to conclude the remainder of Season 5.

THIRD STUDIO ALBUM UNREAL UNEARTH DUE AUGUST 18TH

PRE-ORDER HERE

BRAND NEW WINTER 2023 UK ARENA TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

SOLD OUT UK TOUR THIS SUMMER INCLUDING DATE AT LONDON’S ALEXANDRA PALACE PARK
JULY 21ST

Today, due to overwhelming fan-demand since first teasing the song in September of last year, Hozier has shared “Unknown / Nth” from his forthcoming album Unreal Unearth.

Featuring dreamy blues guitar thread over a sparse, icy soundscape, the track explores heartbreak at the hands of someone you trusted and the cycle of repeating the same mistakes. Touching on the project’s playful exploration of the structure of Dante’s Inferno, “Unknown / Nth” reflects on the sin of the ninth circle of hell: treachery. Listen HERE and watch the accompanying lyric video HERE.

In speaking about the track, Hozier says: “The title comes from the expression of an unknown but large number, i.e. ‘Nth.’ The song reflects on having your heartbroken by someone you trusted. You think you learned, and it happens again. It also recalls ‘Ninth’ or the 9th circle of treachery. The song throws away the old premise of angelhood. None of us are angels. We are all going to break someone else’s heart or hurt another person. Musically, there was a minimalist approach. In that cold empty place, something else happened.”

Unreal Unearth, due August 18, marks Hozier’s third studio album. The 16-track LP is available for pre-order HERE and features “Unknown / Nth,” “Francesca,” “All Things End,” and “Eat Your Young”. The album will be offered digitally as well as in various physical configurations including standard black LP, raw ochre D2C exclusive LP, burnt clay Amazon exclusive LP, light umber indie retail exclusive LP, CD, and cassette. See the exclusive vinyl pack shots below.

Fresh off the heels of his sold-out run of intimate pop-up shows in the U.S. last month, Hozier is currently on tour in Europe with a secret set at Glastonbury tonight at 7:30pm on the Woodsies stage. He will then bring his massive international ‘Unreal Unearth Tour’ to the UK this summer, including a show at London’s Alexandra Palace Park on Friday July 21st. He’ll then return in the winter for a run of spectacular arena shows which will see him play London’s OVO Arena Wembley on December 15th.

NEW ALBUM THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS OUT AUGUST 11TH

“A collection of 12 high-energy punk-ish songs reminiscent of their best work” – Rolling Stone

With the final show of their blistering run of stadium dates with Arctic Monkeys later this week, The Hives have announced a UK and Ireland tour in spring 2024. The band will also release their highly anticipated new album The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons August 11th via FUGA.

Kicking off at Leeds Academy on March 27th, The Hives take their famously frenzied show to 12 cities across the UK and Ireland, culminating with a date at London’s Eventim Apollo on April 13th. Artist pre-sale goes live June 28th and general tickets will be available Friday June 30th HERE

As the album’s macabre title hints, the band’s extended absence from the studio has been no hiatus but rather a horror story. The Hives now admit they have not seen nor spoken to their founder, mentor and songwriter, the perpetual limelight-shunning Randy Fitzsimmons, since the release of 2012’s Lex Hives. Following the recent discovery of a hidden away obituary and cryptic poem in the local paper of the Northern Vastmanland town where The Hives are from, the band members were led to Fitzsimmons’ tombstone. Upon digging the freshly interred ground, the band found not a body but instead several tapes, suits, and a piece of paper bearing the words “The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons” typed up as if a title. Whether a hoax or Fitzsimmons’ opening gambit, remains to be seen. The uncovered tapes included the demos that would become the twelve new songs on The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons.

The Hives are Chris Dangerous, Vigilante Carlstroem, Nicholaus Arson, Howlin’ Pelle, and The Johan And Only.

2023 just keeps getting bigger and better for rising duo Dolores Forever. After kicking off a run of summer festival dates, the band today announce their superb new single ‘I Love You But You’re Making Me Sad’, out now on Sweat Entertainment – listen HERE.

Produced by Askjell Solstrand (Sigrid, Aurora), ‘I Love You But You’re Making Me Sad’ sees the band take a more melancholic approach, embracing their descriptor of ‘indie ABBA’. The results speak for themselves, with a summer sad banger that’s set to confirm the duo as one of the most exciting acts around.

The band explain; “This song is about being lonely beside the one you love. Those maddening irritations that appear when a relationship has run its course. If you’ve ever been heartbroken about not being more heartbroken I Love You But You’re Making Me Sad is for you.”

Following the success of previous singles ‘Good Time All The Time’‘When I Say So’ & ‘Conversations With Strangers’, Dolores Forever have been tipped across media and radio alike and are living up to their tags as one of the most exciting new acts to make an impact this year.

Formed by close friends and songwriters Hannah Wilson (from Yorkshire) and Julia Fabrin (from Copenhagen), Dolores Forever met at a house party in London, connecting over their love of Mitski, Sharon Van Etten, Stevie Nicks and the Spice Girls.

Having already wowed at Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds Festivals last summer and with acclaim across the board from the likes of BBC Introducing, Radio 1, NME, The i, i-D Magazine, The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, Dummy, Mahogany and more for their breakthrough debut EP ‘Baby Teeth’ and infectious single ‘Rothko’, the duo look set for a huge career.

The band kicked off a summer of festival and support dates last month with impeccable sets at The Great Escape, Live At Leeds and Manchester’s Neighbourhood Weekend. The coming months will see further slots at Latitude, Boardmasters, Barn On The Farm, huge outdoor support dates with Bastille and more!

New Album One Man Band Out August 4th

Plays Run Of Sold-Out Summer Out Store Dates

Ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated new album One Man Band, Miles Kane has dropped new single ‘The Wonder.’ The track is the third to be taken from the album, which comes out August 4th on Modern Sky Records. Listen to ‘The Wonder’ HERE & Watch a stunning live version HERE.

Emotionally charged and relentlessly infectious, ‘The Wonder’ is Miles on his best form, writing guitar driven hits built for festival stages. “‘The Wonder’ is about those moments in time when the mind wanders over a past relationship, and you feel the presence of that person again,” Miles said of the track. “The waves come and go as you sit alone and think about what has been.”

Miles also recently went on a mission to Italy in the hope of meeting his hero Roberto Baggio. He documented the journey to finally meet the man himself and show Baggio the song dedicated to him from the album with a beautiful short film. Watch HERE & Listen to ‘Baggio’ HERE.

“I was eight years old when I first saw Baggio on TV,  it was during the 1994 World Cup,” Miles said of Baggio. “I was taken back by his presence, his look and his talent. It was the first time I’d seen a man look so different and unique. Seeing Baggio led me to be obsessed with that Italian football team for many years. They made me want to grow my hair and I think that was the start of me getting obsessed with clothes, fashion and all things Italian. It was the start of me wanting to grow into who I am today.”

Miles returns to his guitar hero best on One Man Band as he focuses on big hooks and even bigger anthems. Sharp, infectious, urgent and packed to the brim with singalong moments, it’s Miles on the top of his game. A deeply personal record, Miles returned to Liverpool to work on the album, finding himself reflecting on his journey.

Making the album back in Liverpool with my family really helped to bring this out of me,” Miles said of the writing process. “We left no stone unturned. Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, and this album helped me rediscover why I picked up a guitar in the first place. This album is like a brand new, yet somehow familiar leather jacket. A comforting melting pot of all the music that has inspired and continues to inspire me every day.”

Recorded at the brand new Kempston Street Studios, Miles teamed up with longtime collaborator James Skelly of The Coral for production duties. Taking shape after Miles wrote the album’s infectious title-track and the hazy ‘Ransom’, he hooked up with BlossomsTom Ogden and Keiran Shudall of Circa Waves, as well as Andy Burrow and regular writing partner Jamie Biles to put the tracks together.

One Man Band is a career defining album, sonically brilliant, heartfelt and filled with music he was destined to make since the very beginning of an action packed career.
