Last year, The Hives released their first album in over a decade, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, which earned critical praise from The Guardian, NME, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Uncut, Stereogum and more.

In the twenty-five years since The Hives exploded around the world, they have sold out stadiums and shared stages with everyone from AC/DC to The Rolling Stones. They have sold millions of albums world-wide with multiple RIAA Gold-certifications. In the time since Lex Hives, the band has released 2019’s double A-side “I’m Alive”/“Good Samaritan” as well as a live album via Third Man Records, and embarked on a series of global tours. The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons marks a true renaissance.

World-renowned, and now UK Number 1-selling singer-songwriter Hozier has today released a second instalment of never-heard-before treats for fans in the shape of Unaired EP. It’s powerful lead single ‘Nobody’s Soldier’, a track highlighting the hugely problematic issues of global arms dealing, is out today – listen here.

The last few weeks has seen some cryptic, exciting teasing, with an initial snippet of ‘Nobody’s Soldier’ posted to setlist.fm, whipping fans into a whirlwind of intrigue, followed by it’s global live debut in full for a thrilled audience at Lollapalooza, during Hozier’s headline set on the Bud Light Stage in Chicago on August 1st.

Unaired EP will contain three unreleased songs, originally recorded during the sessions for latest chart-topping album Unreal Unearth. As well as ‘Nobody’s Soldier’, the EP will also include ‘July’, produced by Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman (Anderson .Paak, H.E.R.), and ‘That You Are’, produced by Gus Seyffert (Beck, Michael Kiwanuka) – featuring the enthralling Syrian-American folk artist Bedouine.

In a note to fans, Hozier says; “Dear Souls, I want to thank each and everyone of you for everything over this past year. It’s been a privilege to travel and play the music and be met with so much love and support. This has been a very special time for me, thank you all sincerely.

“Nobody’s Soldier,” which some of you may have heard live already, “July,” the sister song of “Wildflower and Barley,” written while awaiting the pandemic’s passing, and “That You Are,” a song that I was blessed to write with Bedouine in Los Angeles and record together shortly after.

I sincerely hope you enjoy these additional songs from this chapter. Thank you again for your support, I hope to see some of you at a show soon!”

Following a recent spate of career-affirming milestones that saw Hozier score his first ever UK number 1 album with Unreal Unearth, outselling the entire UK Top 5 combined in release week and also scored the top spot in Ireland, shortly followed by part 1’s release of Unheard EP and subsequent UK number 1 single Too Sweet’, beating both Beyoncé & Benson Boone. The track has currently clocked up a huge 1.6 billion global streams already, and its video has been nominated for Best Alternative Song at the upcoming VMA’s.

He also cemented himself within the upper echelons of musical greats, conquering a run of huge outdoor shows selling out London’s Finsbury Park to 45,000 adoring fans – as well as Dublin’s Marlay Park to the same capacity, plus Glasgow Green and Lytham Festival.

Hozier will continue to make his way through the US & Canada throughout August and September, before heading into Australia and New Zealand in November, as his world domination continues. Visit hozier.com for full worldwide dates and tickets.

‘Dancing At The Edge Of The World’

Out Now On Modern Sky Records

Announces Headline Date at The Arts Club in Liverpool on December 13th

“A future megastar” – The Guardian

“Scottish indie star-in-waiting already mingling with the greats” – NME

Following her breakout in 2023, which saw her debut mixtape Black Is The New Gold shortlisted at the Scottish Album Of The Year Awards, one of the UK’s most exciting artists Brooke Combe returns with her new single ‘Dancing At The Edge of The World’. Listen to ‘Dancing At The Edge Of The World’ HERE & watch a live version recorded at Nan’s House Studio in Liverpool HERE.

The latest taste of Brooke’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Dancing At The Edge Of The World’ sees Brooke’s beautifully captivating vocals take the front seat in this stunning, laid back soul jam.

I wrote this after parting ways with a major label. After feeling like I wasn’t able to pursue creating music and lyrics that I felt strongly about, I ended up with a lot of self doubt and felt as though I was jumping through hoops for people that weren’t actually performing these songs themselves,” Brooke says of the single. “It was quite a crucial point in my career. I had to go through that to find my feet. I had to stay true to myself and when I finally had the freedom, my forthcoming debut album pretty much wrote itself. The title of the track came from a book my producer was reading at the time and I instantly resonated with the quote due to the feelings I had surrounding my situation.”

Known for her captivating live shows, Brooke will return to Liverpool for a very special date at The Arts Club in Liverpool on Friday December 13th. Tickets are on-sale HERE.

Tipped by Rolling Stone UK as ‘One of 2023’s defining artists’ in their ‘Ones To Watch’ and in Dork Magazine’s ‘Hype List 2023’ and already garnering support from the likes of The Guardian, NME, Clash, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Radio X, Brooke Combe continues to rise as one of the UK’s hottest talents. With more music coming imminently, Brooke is an artist you should not sleep on!

Taken From Her Brand New Studio Album
Slang Spirituals
Out September 13th on BMG

After recently making her welcomed return, which included a thrilling performance as part of Chaka Khan’s Meltdown Festival at London’s Southbank Centre last month, as well as a sold out residency at Los Angeles’ Sun Rose on Sunset Strip, Lady Blackbird releases her new single, the stunning psychedelic gospel hymn  ‘Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)’, taken from her brand new studio album Slang Spirituals, out September 13th on BMG.

The soulful orchestral fanfares of this beautiful new track, that has sprung out of the traps being premiered as Zoe Ball’s ‘New To 2’ on BBC Radio 2, and spun by Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music, were penned in hotel bars after exhilarating shows or in impromptu studio sessions, and is a remarkable work of soul-searching and self-acceptance. It sees Lady Blackbird repeating the freeing line, “Heaven is just a game not meant to last,” playfully casting off her previous religious shackles over ornate swells of choral harmony. Listen here and watch the stunning Christian Tirone-directed music video here.

“’Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)’ is a track that embodies the whole ‘Slang Spirituals’ journey, both lyrically and musically,” Lady Blackbird explains. “From the humble soul beginnings, to the psychedelic star bound after life, it’s the story of finding freedom within oneself and singing about it with the acid choir of love!”

Collaborating once again with Black Acid Soul producer Chris Seefried, the pair produce a second album that not only embodies the freewheeling, emotive Lady Blackbird sound, but that also taps into deeply vulnerable lyrics that recount the singer’s challenging ascent to musical stardom.

“Once I entered my teenage years, I started to realise that religion was something that was put on me and it never felt right,” she says. “As I also began to develop my own identity as a queer woman, I felt judged as an outcast and labelled as a sinner. It was burying who I really was and I needed to find a way out.”

In taking charge of her own life and her own sound, Lady Blackbird walks a new path, making each note on Slang Spirituals a step in a radically different direction. Across 11 tracks Lady Blackbird puts her sweeping, cinematic vocal power to use on everything from the finger-picking folk storytelling of ‘Man On A Boat’, euphoric gospel empowerment of ‘Like A Woman’ and the seven-minute avant soul instrumentation of ‘When The Game Is Played On You’.

Lady Blackbird’s debut album Black Acid Soul garnered 5* reviews and won unanimous praise across UK media. She’s dazzled the likes of London’s Union Chapel, The Barbican, KOKO, & Shepherds Bush Empire, as well as supported Gregory Porter on his UK tour and won ‘International Artist of the Year’ at the Jazz FM Awards. Without doubt, her appearance on a star studded Graham Norton show had the country captivated and Taylor Swift lost for superlatives, watch HERE.

Lady Blackbird will be supporting Moby in the UK & Europe on tour as part of his 25th Anniversary of ‘Play’, from September 16th-25th (including London, The O2 on Sep 19th), before heading into Europe for her own headline run from November 16th – December 7th.

“This is my journey of becoming,” she concludes. “It’s me rewriting the book to show the world who I truly am. From being labelled a sinner to finding my acceptance.”

PRAISE FOR LADY BLACKBIRD:
The Times “A captivating star in the making” / Guardian“Songs and performances that burn deep into you” / Metro“See her before she goes galactic” / NY Times“Enigmatic and arresting”

NINTH STUDIO ALBUM LONG WAY HOME
OUT AUGUST 16TH VIA LIULA RECORDS

Ray LaMontagne – the celebrated Grammy award winner – today shares a new single, ‘I Wouldn’t Change A Thing’ – listen/share here. The track, releasing via the highly independent artist’s newly created label Liula Records, is the third taken from LaMontagne’s forthcoming, highly anticipated studio album, Long Way Home, out August 16th – presave/preorder here.

Additionally, last week LaMontagne shared a new video for ‘Long Way Home’, the previous single and the album’s title track – watch here. A somber, bittersweet rumination on times past, the video features visuals from his son Tobias and collage art by his daughter-in-law Bella.

‘I Wouldn’t Change A Thing’ sees LaMontagne reflect on his journey traveled, accepting the downs with the ups. “If I had the chance to turn back time // I could tell you this my friend // I’d do it all over again // I’d get right back in the ring,” he sings. The track’s jangly guitar strums are complimented by the sorrowful wail of a slide guitar and an easy drumbeat.

The first single ‘Step Into Your Power’ released early June and is the fastest moving track of LaMontagne’s in the last ten years. Accompanied by a stop-motion music video animated by his son Tobias, the foot-tapping, nostalgia laden track features choral backing vocals from The Secret Sisters.

The core of Long Way Home reverberates deep into LaMontagne’s youth—at 21-years-old, in a small club in Minneapolis, he recalls seeing Townes Van Zandt perform live. A line from “To Live Is To Fly” has stuck with him ever since; Van Zandt sang, “When here you been is good an gone, all you keep is the getting there.”

Produced in tandem with Seth Kauffman (Floating Action, Angel Olsen, Lana Del Ray), Long Way Home’s nine moving tracks recall the folk-rock explosion of the early seventies, while aptly sitting among the modern Americana revival that LaMontagne was integral in fueling. Recorded over the course of a few weeks in his home studio, LaMontagne tapped both long-time and new collaborators across the record—The Secret Sisters provide backing vocals on the first three tracks, while the album was engineered and mixed by the team of LaMontagne, Kauffman, and Ariel Bernstein.

LaMontagne reflects, “Thirty years later it occurs to me that every song on Long Way Home is in one way or another honoring the journey. The languorous days of youth and innocence. The countless battles of adulthood, some won, more often lost. It’s been a long hard road, and I wouldn’t change a minute. It took me nine songs to express what Townes managed to say in one line. I guess I still got a lot to learn.”

Acclaimed folk singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne has released eight studio albums since his 2004 debut, Trouble, which is certified RIAA Platinum. 2006’s Till the Sun Turns Black and 2008’s Gossip in the Grain saw RIAA Gold certifications. LaMontagne received two Grammy nominations and won the award for Best Contemporary Folk Album for God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise. In 2010 he began recording as Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs. For his debut album, LaMontagne won four awards, including three Boston Music Awards (Best Male Singer/Songwriter, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year) and an XM Nation Music Award for Acoustic Rock Artist of the Year. LaMontagne has received a nomination from the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards for Best New Touring Artist, the BRIT Awards for International Breakthrough Act, the MOJO Awards for Best New Act, and was given the title of Best Voice in 2006 by Esquire.

Forthcoming Album Beneath The Neon Glow

Out August 9th on Cooking Vinyl Records

16 Date UK Autumn Headline Tour Announced
Includes London’s Islington Assembly Hall – November 2nd

August In-Store Release Dates Added – Tickets HERE

Elles Bailey releases her latest single, “1972,” from her upcoming album, Beneath The Neon Glow, out August 9th via Cooking Vinyl Records.

Co-written with Jess Grommet and Willie Morrison, “1972” is a lively country-funk track inspired by the desire to embrace the present moment. Elles explains, “We live in a world where so much time is spent looking down at our phones or trying to capture an occasion through the lens that sometimes we forget to live in the moment. 1972 is joyful, almost tongue in cheek celebration of doing our best to live in the moment, perhaps like they did in 1972”.

Elles releases a vibrant, nostalgia-filled video that takes us back to the simpler days. The video features appearances from her friends and musical peers. Elles says “This video is a celebration of living in the moment, looking up, marvelling at nature, enjoying friendships, and being present! It was an absolute pleasure to have guest appearances from the fabulous Greta from Beaux Gris Gris and the Apocalypse, blues man Thomas Heppel, Miss Sparkles herself Demi Marriner, and the Queen, Miss Alice Armstrong! I actually wrote a lyric in the song that was inspired by Alice (‘I’ma put on my JaJo Glasses’), so it meant the world that she could be in the video too! The hugest shout-outs to Robin and Greta from Grow Vision for pulling this whole video together in a day! It’s the perfect accompaniment to the song!” Listen to ‘1972’ HERE & watch the video HERE.

Beneath The Neon Glow, Elles’ fourth studio album. Produced by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari) and recorded with her exceptional live band, the album delves into the many facets of love with lyrically vulnerable and brutally honest songwriting. Songwriting that GRTR say “transcends all genres” and “an excellent album that deserves to push Elles Bailey into the higher echelons of contemporary singer-songwriters.”

Early reviews have been glowing. “Brilliant” say Daily Star. “She’s hit a new hooky sweet spot” Classic Rock Magazine proclaimed, the album is awarded 5/5 from Music News and RNR said “Perhaps a Career Best”.

Elles and her top-tier band will tour with the new album in Autumn 2024, including a show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on November 2nd. Following a jam-packed festival season in the UK and Europe.  Elles will also be doing a UK In-Store tour to celebrate the album’s release in August. Tickets on sale HERE.

Elles is poised for her next big step. Her recent debut on Glastonbury’s Avalon stage highlights her upward momentum. This album marks the perfect point for her continued ascent. As MOJO Magazine put it “Her rise and rise is inevitable”

New Album Meltdown

Out August 9th On Staple Diet Records

November UK Headline Tour Announced
London, Brixton Electric – Nov 14th

Following a raucous, intimate hometown show at Glasgow’s Garage earlier this week, Twin Atlantic have released the title-track from their forthcoming new album Meltdown. The album will be released on the band’s own label, Staple Diet Records, on August 9th. The band, who play another sold-out underplay in Stirling this evening, will perform a special headline date at Belladrum Festival on Saturday 27th July.

A euphoric, pop-rock anthem ‘Meltdown’ taps into the more emotional side to the record. “This was one of the easiest songs we’ve ever written as a band. It was the last song we added to the album after we felt like a certain flavour was missing, so we wrote this with a real purpose and I think that comes across in the simple nature of all the musical parts that Ross put together,” lead singer Sam McTrusty said of the track. “The track feels really raw and honest, which has always been our mission as a band. With Ross and I being dads of two we are very very familiar with the word meltdown of late. All of that being said after a meltdown you have to step back and learn from it and rebuild. Culturally it feels like we are all experiencing that right now so the word and meaning really resonated with the bigger picture of life going on around us when we made the album.Listen to ‘Meltdown’ HERE.

Produced by McTrusty and bassist Ross McNae and mixed by longtime collaborator Romesh Dodangoda, from top to bottom Meltdown is a return to form for the band. Eleven slices of infectious, masterful pop-rock, Meltdown is equal parts guitar heavy bangers and emotionally driven heartfelt anthems. With one foot firmly in nostalgia, while wholeheartedly looking to the future, Twin Atlantic are back to their very best.

Following a headline show at Belladrum Festival this weekend, the band return to the road this winter for a run of UK dates in November. Kicking off at Boilershop in Newcastle, the tour culminates with a show at London’s Brixton Electric on November 14th. Tickets for all shows on sale HERE.

Twin Atlantic play the following UK dates:

July

Fri 26th Stirling, Tolbooth

Sat 27th Kiltarlity, Belladrum Festival

November
Thu 7th Newcastle, Boilershop

Fri 8th Leeds, Wardrobe

Sun 10th Manchester, Academy 2

Thu 14th London, Electric Brixton

Sat 16th Norwich, The Waterfront

Taken From Forthcoming New Album A Modern Day Distraction

Out September 20th

Winter 2024 UK & EU Headline Tour

Plays London’s Roundhouse – November 19th

Jake Bugg today releases his superb new offering ‘All Kinds Of People’ – taken from his forthcoming sixth album A Modern Day Distraction, out September 20th on RCA Records.

A Clash and Jam-indebted mod rock burst, Jake’s new single addresses the need to open up and talk about the everyday hardships of ordinary people’s lives. “We all have our struggles,” says Jake. “In British culture, we don’t really talk to anyone about that. You need to talk about these things with the people you love. We have to try and help each other, because there’s not much help out there.” Listen to ‘All Kinds Of People’ HERE & watch the Michael Holyk-directed video, shot in Nottingham, HERE.

Produced by Metrophonic at Metrophonic Studios in London, Jake returns to his roots on the rock-driven A Modern Day Distraction – a record that turns up the noise while shining a light on the injustice he’s seen dealt to the family and friends he grew up with. Fiery and engaged, the record was born out of a frustration of societal inequality. Bugg found that a time had come when he just couldn’t look away. “People might say ‘What do you know?’ or ‘Just stick to music’. I’ve got a bit of money, but we all know the people this affects. I was just writing it because it was the way I felt. It pisses me off – especially in a country like ours where we have the means and funds to take care of the people suffering the most, but we choose not to.

Now 12 years and six albums since he emerged with his streetwise and spritely, Mercury-nominated, chart-topping, self-titled debut, one might forget he was just 18 at the time. He’s put in the hours and achieved so much, but he’s only 30 and still seeing the front rows of his shows getting younger.

With a string of shows already happening this summer, Jake will return to the road in November this year for a run of UK and EU dates, including a date at London’s Roundhouse on November 19th. Tickets on sale HERE.

“A strong melodic grasp and a way with a knockout chorus”Guardian (Album Of The Week)

“Pizzorno brings both a warmer energy and a proud ownership of his own material that has put fresh (rechargeable) batteries in Kasabian’s mood” The Independent 4*

“It feels as though you’re caught in a snow-globe, being shaken up and down, from side to side – watching the pieces fall is a thrilling experience.” Clash

“Kasabian stay on top form with Serge Pizzorno in the driving seat once again”
Press Association

Following a wild, triumphant week that saw the release of their brand new studio album Happenings, a truly euphoric secret set at Glastonbury’s Woodsies Stage, and a celebratory hometown headliner at Leicester’s Victoria Park this Saturday, today sees yet another installment of the band’s incredible run as Kasabian announce four huge November UK arena shows with special guests The Streets.

The four shows will see them visit Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London’s O2 Arena. Pre Sale tickets are available HERE, with general sale tickets from Wednesday, 10th July @ 9.30am. See full dates below.

It’s been a truly welcome return with Happenings being praised across the board, with The Guardian making it their Album Of The Week, The Independent describing it Serge Pizzorno as bringing “both a warmer energy and a proud ownership of his own material that has put fresh (rechargeable) batteries in Kasabian’s mood”, alongside more great reviews and a stellar performance of ‘Algorithms’ on The One Show.

Co-produced by Serge and Mark Ralph (Zara Larsson, Clean Bandit, Rudimental), the follow up to 2022’s #1 album The Alchemist’s Euphoria, Happenings is 10 quick, sharp, visceral doses of fresh heavy hitters, drawing inspiration from the anything-goes art performance late-1950s. Veering between the dance floor to the mosh pit, tracks over three minutes were outlawed (well nearly), and with those 10 tracks clocking up to 28 minutes and 51 seconds (“A minute shorter than the Ramones debut”), Happenings is not only an album that never overstays its welcome, but leaves listeners craving more.

Acclaimed vocalist, songwriter Madeleine Peyroux has released her first album in six years with Let’s Walk (Thirty Tigers). This record marks her first collection of original material co-written with longtime collaborator Jon Herington.

The album represents Peyroux’s most eclectic, introspective, and daring work yet as she bravely addresses personal and societal themes. Let’s Walk is a melting pot of genres, including jazz, folk, gospel blues, Americana, chamber pop, and Latin rhythms, peppered with moments of light-hearted humor.

Let’s Walk has been warmly received at press with both MOJO and The Times giving the album 4*. The Mail On Sunday accurately described  it ‘crisply crafted’, whilst The Sun’s Something For The Weekend painted  it as ‘a beautifully crafted song cycle’.

The title track “Let’s Walk” draws its inspiration from the global movements of 2020 where people came together to advocate for civil rights and a just society. It embodies a call to action, rejecting the notion of simply walking away from societal challenges and instead promoting standing up for unity and purpose. The lyric video for “Let’s Walk” skillfully integrates marching visuals with the song’s lyrics, intensifying its message and focus. This synergy enhances the narrative’s impact, delivering a clear and resonant message to viewers. As the full images appear, the emotional depth of the song is further amplified, creating a captivating and thought-provoking experience. You can watch “Let’s Walk” HERE.

The songs within Let’s Walk are interwoven around contemplative, observational and confessional narratives, making it the deepest and most substantive album of her illustrious catalog. With Let’s Walk, Peyroux invites listeners on a journey of contemplation, observation, and confession, crafting an album that stands as her most profound and meaningful to date.

FOR A SELF-LOVE CELEBRATION

“LOVER” HERE

Today, New York electronic duo The Knocks and UK duo Dolores Forever release their collaboration “LOVER”, celebrating Pride and general self-love and empowerment. Listen to “LOVER”: There’s a new horizon I’ll be riding up without you…”

Dolores Forever explain: “Lover is really an expression of confidence, for when you’re done crying on the dancefloor and just want to have a great time. We wanted it to sound as if Fleetwood Mac and glitter had a baby, and The Knocks really brought that. We’re so excited to be releasing this song together – hope it’s a soundtrack to someone’s summer of fun.“

The Knocks add: “We are fans of Dolores Forever and have loved their vibe for a while now. As with lots of The Knocks collaborations, we try to bring alternative-leaning artists into a different space and we were thrilled that they were down to experiment with us.  We are so happy with how the song turned out and think it’s the perfect blend of both of our sounds. We hope the warm, retro feel is the soundtrack to all of our fans’ summers.”

About The Knocks:

The prolific GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum selling NYC dance music luminaries deliver a carefree electronic sound that draws from disco, house, hip hop, soul, indie, and pop.

Comprised of James Patterson and Ben Ruttner, the duo produce a dizzying array of danceable, New York inspired music, bringing their DJ sets and live electronic performances around the world alongside industry heavyweights including The 1975, Ellie Goulding, and Justin Bieber, among others.

With more than 2 billion streams across platforms, The Knocks have released 3 full length albums, 5 EP’s, and performed their hit singles on US late night TV shows including Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Seth Meyers.  Known for their collaborative prowess, the guys have worked with artists across the musical spectrum, ranging from indie [Foster The People, MGMT, MUNA], hiphop [Cam’ron, Wyclef, Method Man], dance [Purple Disco Machine, ODESZA, SOFI TUKKER], and pop [Billie Eilish, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX].

About Dolores Forever:

When alt-pop duo Dolores Forever perform their 2024 single ‘Someday Best’, a spirited anthem about living your best, carefree life, their fans go wild for one lyric in particular: “Shut up and eat the pasta!” Now emblazoned across Dolores Forever T-Shirts, it’s a line that perfectly captures the infectiously playful, unapologetic feminist energy at the heart of the London-based band, made up of songwriters Hannah Wilson and Julia Fabrin, who met at a house party in 2018 and instantly became friends.

This friendship has underpinned the band’s whirlwind rise since releasing their first single, Kilimanjaro, in 2021. In 2022 they released two back-to-back EPs (Baby Teeth and Conversations With Strangers), and, despite having played just three live shows, were invited to perform at Glastonbury. By 2023 Rolling Stone UK and NME had marked them as ‘ones to watch’, they sold out their first headline show at Omeara and released a third EP, I Love You But You’re Making Me Sad.

Now, they’re ready to release their hotly anticipated debut album, It’s Nothing on September 27th.
