First Taste of Forthcoming Album Out Now on BMG

Listen to ‘Trouble in Paradise’ HERE

Rufus Wainwright makes a most welcome return with the smart classic pop of brand new single ‘Trouble In Paradise’.

The song is full of firsts: his first with new producer Mitchell Froom on his new label BMG and his first new pop music since his 2012 ‘Out of the Game’ album produced by Mark Ronson.

Not that Rufus has been idle these last 7 years, in fact he’s never been busier. He’s been travelling the globe touring, writing and recording operas and an elegant disc full of Shakespeare Sonnets. Last Easter he celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut album with a sold out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall of biblical proportions that also featured most of his 2nd acclaimed record ‘Poses’. Similar US and European dates were warmly received.

That precocious debut was recorded in LA as has his forthcoming, eagerly anticipated new album. “As soon as I got to LA I realised I wanted to make another of those good, old-fashioned records,” Rufus says.

Meeting producer Mitchell Froom cemented the idea and the two set about creating what promises to be a highlight in a career full of them.

‘Trouble In Paradise’ is about the fashion world but also applies to the state of the planet. As for the music, Rufus says it has “a sense of sophistication and an animalistic instinct.”

He adds: “After the opera world and natural ageing, I can now sing at the full power of my abilities, and this record really shows that off.”

From a man who regularly makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up with the sheer range and power of his voice, that’s one scary thought.

You have been warned!

Forthcoming Album ‘High Road’ Due Out January 10

Today Kesha drops her new song “Raising Hell” ft. Big Freedia, further cementing the legacy of a modern pop icon who has always used her rebellious spirit, irreverent sense of humor, quick-witted songwriting and undeniable heart to reinvent herself and bring joy to her fans. It’s the first taste of what’s to come off her upcoming album ‘High Road’, which will be released January 10 on Kemosabe/RCA Records, available now for pre-order HERE.

The song begins soft with a piano and Kesha’s lush vocals before Big Freedia commands “Let’s go!” and a club-ready beat drops while Kesha unfurls fun-loving bars about embracing life’s wild moments. Co-written with Wrabel, Sean Douglas and Stint and produced by Stint and Omega, “Raising Hell” is a raucous celebration of the artist’s trademark IDGAF nature. As Kesha says during the chorus, “Mama raised me well, but I don’t wanna go to heaven without raising hell.”

Watch the video for “Raising Hell” (directed by Luke Gilford), where Kesha plays a televangelist converted to the playful church of partying HERE.

Following the monumental success of her GRAMMY-nominated album ‘Rainbow’, the release of ‘High Road’ finds an artist on a joyful musical journey of self-discovery. For ‘High Road’, Kesha enlisted an eclectic roster of collaborators/songwriters/producers including John Hill, Dan Reynolds, Stuart Crichton, Jeff Bhasker, Drew Pearson, Brian Wilson, Sturgill Simpson, Nate Ruess, Justin Tranter, Stint, Wrabel, and Pebe Sebert among others.

The emotional and stylistic range found on the album is a blend of heavenly highs and emotional depths. Kesha’s swagger is front & center, paired with brilliant kiss-off one-liners, dancefloor grooves, and reminders to pay the haters no mind. Frisky, rap-based tracks show-off her skills as a lyrical spitfire, while elsewhere on the album a folkier side emerges. With a dream-pop ode to a best friendship, a reflective ballad about growing up without a father, and plenty of lust and laughter, ‘High Road’ traverses the emotional spectrum.

Watch the album trailer for ‘High Road’ via Rolling Stone HERE.

It’s been an incredible two years since Kesha returned to the charts in 2017 with her critically acclaimed #1 album ‘Rainbow’ which earned the singer/songwriter her first GRAMMY nominations and was called “an artistic feat” by Entertainment Weekly and “the best music of her career” by Rolling Stone.

The singer/songwriter was also named one of Time Magazine’s Time 100, she released a behind-the-scenes Webby-winning documentary ‘Rainbow – The Film’ on Apple Music, performed “Praying” at the 2018 GRAMMYs which Vanity Fair called “the night’s most powerful performance”, set sail on her own festival cruise (“Kesha’s Weird & Wonderful Rainbow Ride”), headlined Dan Reynolds’ LoveLoud Festival, collaborated with Macklemore (“Good Old Days”) and The Struts (“Body Talks”), and contributed to the soundtracks for On the Basis of Sex (“Here Comes The Change”) and The Angry Birds Movie 2 (“Best Day”).

Kesha has sold more than 14 million total album equivalents worldwide, has approximately 6.9 billion audio streams and 1.7 billion video streams worldwide, and has had 9 Top 10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100, including four #1 singles at Top 40 Radio – “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug,” “Die Young,” and “Timber.”

Solstice II Saturday June 20th 2020

Special Guest Sam Fender

What promises to be one of the highlights of 2020, Kasabian have announced a massive hometown show at Leicester’s Victoria Park for June 20th, six years on from their triumphant first show at the venue. It’s their first outdoor UK show since their massive Isle of Wight headline set and their first UK show since a raucous Brixton Academy set in 2018.

This is the only UK show Kasabian will play next year

Currently working on new music, the UK’s best and biggest rock band, are eager to return to Leicester next summer. Kasabian main man Serge Pizzorno recently released his critically acclaimed trippy solo record under the moniker The S.L.P. Newly revitalized, he is looking forward to making studio magic once again with Kasabian: singer Tom Meighan, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter.

Tickets go on-sale at 9am on October 25th and are available from HERE

Kasabian have five UK #1 albums to their name and have sold over 5.5 million albums worldwide. They’ve won a Brit, seven NME awards, four Q Awards and have headlined Glastonbury Festival, as well as V Festival, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds Festival and numerous festivals worldwide.

Serge said: ‘We’re absolutely buzzing to be able to put on Solstice II in our home town of Leicester. Anyone who came last time would know how special it was and to get the opportunity to do it again is beyond a dream’.

Play London’s Scala, October 22nd
November UK Support Dates With Lewis Capaldi

Currently out on their sold-out UK headline tour, Scottish upstarts and rising band of the moment, The Snuts unleash their pulsating, riff heavy new single ‘Juan Belmonte’ – out now on Parlophone Records.

Drenched with the band’s alt-indie sound and brimming with riffs, ‘Juan Belmonte’ was recorded across sessions with Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Biffy Clyro) in London & Inflo (Karen O / Danger Mouse, Michael Kiwanuka, Little Simz) in LA. Named after the legendary Spanish bullfighter, the track was written in the band’s practise space & quickly became known as ‘the big one’, before becoming ‘Big Juan’ and eventually, following a little research into famous Juans ‘Juan Belmonte’ after one of the most iconic matadors that ever lived.

Speaking of the track Jack said ‘Juan Belmonte is vibe in itself. With a modern take on our early Matador EP demos there is a slight progression and risk we are keen to showcase. It’s entirely up to yourself whether you dance or sulk to this track’.

Listen to ‘Juan Belmonte’ HERE

The Snuts lay waste to festival crowds across the summer, including the Edinburgh Summer Sessions with UK chart-topper Lewis Capaldi, as well as memorable sets at Reading & Leeds, Victorious Festival and their triumphant main stage performance at TRNSMT to 20,000 people which was dubbed by BBC News as “Snuts Day”.

Extensive UK Tour Announced

First Single ‘Novocaine’ Out Now

Twin Atlantic return with aplomb on new album ‘POWER’ – their scorching, charged-up fourth LP and their first release on Virgin EMI – out January 24th. The record’s first taste arrives in the shape of the addictive ‘Novocaine’ – a racing, adrenalised synth-rock anthem.

Listen to ‘Novocaine’ HERE

Speaking of the single, McTrusty comments; “I wanted to force myself to be more honest and open. The song tells the story of the most intimate connection I’ve ever felt with someone else – when I first met my wife. That feeling of obsession taking over every thought and reason was almost like an addiction at the time. It embarasses us in some ways that we fell victim to such a cliched movie script love story, but equally amazes us that it ever happened.”

Tapping into their LCD Soundsystem fandom, and acknowledging the influence of Depeche Mode, POWER is eight punchy tracks and two compelling interludes. No fat, no fuss, all fire, made by a band plugging in, turning it up and taking charge. The message: here are their new songs, take them – and the band – as you find them.

After ten years, Twin Atlantic got their Glasgow studio fully up-and-running. They gigged for thrills, and used the money to fund the album they wanted to make. They took charge of production. And only then, when all that was done and dusted, did they sign a new record deal. Yes, they had to do everything themselves – and they’d have had it no other way.

“There’s not a single other thing we could have done to be back in control of our own futures,” states bassist Ross McNae of exactly the outcome they dreamt of two long years ago.

Diving into the themes of the record, McTrusty explains; “The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level – we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. POWER is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power,” concludes Sam McTrusty. “And that’s what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”

Following a blistering main stage performance at Reading & Leeds Festival, as well as supporting The 1975 in Glasgow, Twin make their full live return with the announcement of a March underplay tour, including an intimate night at London’s Electric Ballroom. The band will play the following UK shows:

One of the most epic shows of their lives

– Kerrang!

A must see

– Metal Hammer

The group proved that anything was possible by teaming up with the Symphony… you could practically hear Beethoven roll over
– Rolling Stone

Following last week’s international release of Metallica and San Francisco Symphony: S&M2, the film has cemented itself as the largest ever global rock event cinema release having earned $5.5m at the box office across 95+ countries in 3,700+ cinemas worldwide. Trafalgar Releasing are now pleased to announce that due to the success and continued fan demand, the film will be returning for one more night worldwide on October 30.

2019’s S&M2 concerts featured Metallica reuniting with San Francisco Symphony for the first time since the original S&M performances in 1999 documented by the Grammy-winning live album S&M –plus the first-ever Metallica/SF Symphony renditions of songs written and released since those shows.

Filmed over the two sold-out Metallica shows that opened the Chase Center—the new 18,064-seat arena in San Francisco–Metallica and San Francisco Symphony: S&M2 captures more than two and a half hours of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo joining forces with the nearly 80-strong SF Symphony, with a special appearance by legendary conductor Michael Tilson Thomas.

Following the initial run of screenings worldwide, the film achieved a significant global screen average of $1,500 with 460,000 admissions. The box office in North America saw the film reach $1.2m. On the first day of release, the film reached number four at the North American box office and number three at the UK box office.

THE BEATLES: THE SINGLES COLLECTION

Collectible Boxed Set Presents 23 180-Gram Vinyl Singles in Faithfully Reproduced International Picture Sleeves, Exclusive New Double A-Side Single for

“Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” Plus 39-Page Book

London – October 16, 2019 – From 1962 to 1970, The Beatles released 22 UK singles; of those 44 A and B-side tracks, 29 were not included on the group’s British albums at that time. These singles, plus an exclusive new double A-side single for the mid-1990s-issued tracks “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” are newly cut for vinyl from their original mono and stereo master tapes by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios for a new limited edition boxed set. The Beatles: The Singles Collection presents 46 tracks on 23 180-gram seven-inch vinyl singles in faithfully reproduced international picture sleeves, accompanied by a 40-page booklet with photos, ephemera, and detailed essays by Beatles historian Kevin Howlett. The collectible set will be released worldwide on November 22 by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe.

The Singles Collection offers a fascinating view of the creative trajectory of The Beatles’ John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr across their relatively brief recording tenure together. Just three and a half years divide 1963’s “She Loves You” and 1967’s “Strawberry Fields Forever,” a remarkable, illustrative example of the band’s rapid, groundbreaking evolution. From the band’s star-making 1962 debut single, “Love Me Do” with its B-side “P.S. I Love You,” to their 1970 finale of “Let It Be” / “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number),” the new collection underscores The Beatles’ breathtaking creative arc.

Because it was rare in the 1960s for UK singles to be released in picture sleeves, the collection’s seven-inches are presented in reproduced picture sleeves from their original releases in several countries around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Denmark, France, Greece, Holland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK, USA, and West Germany.

The Singles Collection follows the September 27 release of The Beatles’ Abbey Road album in a suite of Anniversary Edition packages. The acclaimed new edition’s Super Deluxe set features new stereo, 5.1 surround, and Dolby Atmos mixes by producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell, plus 23 session and demo recordings, most of which were previously unreleased. Abbey Road’s Anniversary Edition releases returned the iconic album to the top of charts around the world. In the UK, Abbey Road reclaimed the No. 1 position on the official albums chart after 49 years and 252 days, breaking The Beatles’ own Guinness World Record previously held by Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which revisited the chart’s No. 1 spot in June 2017 with its celebrated Anniversary Edition after 49 years and 125 days.

Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, Get The Money follows Taylor’s 2016 six-song mini-LP KOTA by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than KOTA’s takes on suburbia’s bizarro underbelly. Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997’s sophomore opus The Colour and the Shape, he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band.  He’s played on Grammy-winning FF albums including There Is Nothing Left To Lose, One by One and Wasting Light, and contributed lead vocals to Concrete and Gold’s “Sunday Rain,” as well as “Cold Day In The Sun” from 2005’s In Your Honor.

Taylor’s previous extracurricular output includes two albums from Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, one with The Birds of Satan, the above-mentioned KOTA mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

UK Top 5 Album ‘Office Politics’ Out Now

Play London Eventim Apollo October 17th

In the lead up to his highly anticipated UK tour, Neil Hannon, aka The Divine Comedy, unveils a stunning combined animated video for new double A side ‘Infernal Machines’ and ‘You’ll Never Work In This Town Again’. The tracks come from the acclaimed ‘Office Politics’, Hannon’s highest charting album (#5) that was released earlier this year, spawning appearances on shows across BBC Radio 2, 6Music, Radio 4, ITV & BBC Breakfast amongst others.

The two tracks illustrate Neil Hannon’s diversity as a songwriter. The industrial glam of ‘Infernal Machines’ and the murky Latin syncopations of ‘You’ll Never Work This Town Again’ both expertly comment on the reluctance to fully place our lives in the hands of technology.

Talking of the tracks, Hannon comments; “These two songs really are at the very heart of what I was trying to do and say on ‘Office Politics’. Lyrically; that I’m not greatly enamoured of our rush to hand over our world and our lives to technology, and musically; that I would use all means at my disposal to properly frame these ideas.”

The double A side comes accompanied by a superb animated video directed by Mathieu Persan, who says; “Between the lyrics and the versatility of the music style, there was so much to be inspired by. The themes involved have really fascinated me for a long time, and despite being rather pessimistic about the future, I wanted to carry a message of hope. I think the whole movie is just a praise for a more simple life, a bit further from technology and closest to nature.”

The single will be released digitally and as a limited edition 7” and arrives ahead of an 11-date UK and Ireland tour this month which includes a must-see show at London’s Eventim Apollo on October 17th. Ticket links can be found at www.thedivinecomedy.com/live
