Release New Track ‘Valentine’

Taken From Forthcoming Album ’10 Songs

Out October 9th on BMG

Following the announcement that their eagerly anticipated new album, ’10 Songs’, will be released on October 9thon BMG as well as the release of their well received emotionally charged single, ‘A Ghost’, Travis release dynamic new track, ‘Valentine’.

Written by Fran Healy and co-produced by Fran and Robin Baynton, ‘Valentine’ possesses a sizzling energy and a spark that burns bright in the contrast between Fran’s soft, soothing vocals and Andy Dunlop’s heavy guitar lines. Of the track Fran said, “Valentine was recorded as a predominately live performance in December 2019 at Rak studios in London. It’s the closest Travis have gotten sonically to our debut album, ‘Good Feeling’. Alex Harvey-esque.”

Listen to ‘Valentine’  HERE

A limited-edition 10’ vinyl of the song, with artwork etched on the flip side by the acclaimed artist Douglas Gordon, is available to pre-order exclusively on the band’s official store. Fans will also be in with a chance of receiving a specially numbered copy (limited to 300). These will be randomly allocated after purchase.

Co-produced by both Fran and Baynton (Coldplay, Florence & The Machine), and recorded at RAK Studios as 2019 turned into 2020, ’10 Songs’is an album about the way life comes at love and what love does to weather those challenges. It’s grown-up. There’s sizzling synergy in abundance, and many of its songs benefit from the almost psychic sense of mutual attunement that comes from being in a band whose line-up hasn’t changed in its entire collective lifetime.

It’s been twenty-five years since the four members of Travis – Fran Healy, AndyDunlop, Dougie Payne, Neil Primrose – first set foot in a Glaswegian rehearsalroom. At various points along the trajectory between then and now, the band have sold millions of albums, they’ve been the subject of the award-winning feature length documentary ‘Almost Fashionable’ and Fran has elicited acclaim from Paul McCartney, Elton John and Graham Nash – all songwriters whose ability to divine a timeless melody out of thin air has sustained them through the decades.

‘10 Songs’is yet another example of work that shows why Travis are one of the UK’s best. The album comes available as Standard CD, Heavyweight vinyl plus Deluxe 2CD and Deluxe 2LP (red and blue vinyl) including 10 Demos.  In addition to the limited edition 10” of ‘Valentine’, the band’s official store features exclusive album merch bundles with limited signed art prints.

The Make You Movement will provide monetary funds to organisations that focus on disenfranchised youth and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic abuse

make you’ release coincides with Global Forgiveness Day

Forthcoming album heart theory out August 14th

On Global Forgiveness Day, musician, vocalist and songwriter Lindsay Ell is opening up like never before with her new song make you’ – out now digitally and with any pre-order of her forthcoming album heart theory, which arrives August 14th. Watch the visualiser for the track HERE. ‘make you’ follows the release of two tracks on heart theory i don’t lovE you&wAnt me back’.

Lindsay Ell is a triple threat:  accomplished musician, unique vocalist and awe-inspiring songwriter – an impeccable cross between Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift. The Calgary native learned to play guitar while traveling with her father to camps as a young girl. Ell honed her craft as a musical stylist and songwriter after being discovered by BTO and The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman (“American Woman” / “Taking Care of Business”). The multi-instrumentalist was soon touring alongside the likes of Luke Bryan, Buddy Guy, and Keith Urban. She has amassed more than 123 million on demand streams to date.

Co-written by Ell and GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter Brandy Clark, make you’ is the first time Ell publicly addresses being a survivor of sexual violence. The song finds Ell intimately exploring the deeply personal effects on her life after being raped at 13 years old. On heart theory – which takes listeners through Ell’s personal experience of the seven stages of grief – ‘make you’ appears as the first song in the acceptance stage, a reflection of Ell’s determination to use her platform to help other sexual trauma survivors.

Ell explains how meeting young survivors made her realize she couldn’t keep her own experience hidden any longer:

“Three years ago at a visit to help launch the music program at Youth For Tomorrow, I sat down in a conference room with a few girls aged 12-18 who had all been victims of rape or sex trafficking. I shared my story, they shared their stories, and I was so inspired. Walking out of that room that day I knew the time had come to share my story more widely, otherwise I would be denying myself an opportunity to connect and help other girls or boys, like those in that room. It’s a very difficult thing to do, but an incredibly necessary thing to talk about. We don’t realize how much this stuff is happening in our own community, and that is partly due to not discussing it.”

On enlisting Clark to help write the powerful track:

“Once I decided it was time to share my story, there was specifically one co-writer who came to mind. I called Brandy, an absolute wordsmith and songwriter genius, and asked her if she would write this song with me. She fearlessly and immediately said yes. The day we wrote ‘make you’ I knew we had written something special that will hopefully help others to not feel alone in their survival. And more personally, it was finally the moment in my life where I got to validate that little girl inside – letting her know that ‘I see her and I love her.’”

In conjunction with the release of ‘make you,’ Ell has launched the Make You Movement, a charitable fund whose mission is to help organisations that support at-risk youth, domestic abuse and sexual assault survivors by provided funds on an as-needed basis. For more information on the Make You Movement, please visit http://www.cfmt.org/makeyoumovement

Ell has committed to donate all her proceeds from ‘make you’ to the Make You Movement. The first partner organization receiving funds from Make You Movement will be The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), which is the United States’ largest anti-sexual violence organization.

“I believe music has the power to heal. The reason I decided to share my story at this point in my life is that I want it to be able to help a lot of people; and the best way to help people is to not only raise my voice, but to raise money in an effort to raise awareness and understanding. I want to support programs that help girls & boys who may have been victims and support safety and prevention programs that aim to keep potential victims safe. Finally writing ‘make you’ has given me the courage to not let my past decide my future, so I am taking action in order to do just that. My hope is that my actions and song will inspire the same in others.”

The release of ‘make you’ on Global Forgiveness Day further amplifies Ell’s belief that all types of forgiveness – including self-forgiveness – is vital to healing.

Written by Grammy Award®-winning singer/songwriter and longtime friend of Natasha’s Jonas Myrin, “Together in This” was not only inspired by the film’s themes of togetherness and friendship, but also the current state of the world today, reminding us that although we may be apart, we’re never alone.

“As a mother, I love being a part of a movie that will captivate my son with its positive messages about unity and friendship that the whole family can appreciate,” says Natasha. “The song ‘Together in This’ came about after my friend and acclaimed songwriter, Jonas Myrin, called me about a track he wrote for Jungle Beat: The Movie with my voice in mind.  When he told me what the song was about, I knew I wanted to be a part of the project.  I feel so much joy singing a song that promotes togetherness during this challenging time. It really tapped into the joy that my son gives me, and I hope it brings joy to other families as well,” she adds.

Myrin says of the song, “Music has the power to unite, heal and uplift us. So in these difficult times, I wanted to write an anthem of hope for the world. We are stronger together and with love and faith in our hearts, together, we can get through this.” The song was also co-produced by Myrin and Grammy®-nominated producer/songwriter Michael Fatkin, and mixed by five-time Grammy®-award winning mix engineer Josh Gudwin.

“‘Together in This’ is such a timely song, and we’re so grateful to Jonas who did an incredible job writing the song, and to Natasha who did a spectacular job performing it,” said Sandcastle Studios Producer Rita Mbanga. “In this time in our world we so desperately need voices and messages of hope, and we really believe our film and the song will inspire unconditional love and acceptance in a world which needs an abundance of both.”

“Together in This” is Natasha Bedingfield’s first release following her latest studio album, Roll With Me, which was produced by Grammy®-nominated, multi-platinum producer Linda Perry and released via We Are Hear in 2019. The LP showcases the power of Bedingfield’s unparalleled musicality heard in hits like her era-defining anthem “Unwritten,” a double-platinum hit that emerged as the most played song on US Top 40 radio the year of its release.

Named one of VH1’s “100 Greatest Women in Music,” Bedingfield has sold over 10 million albums and earned a Grammy Award®nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and multiple Brit Award nominations for Best British Female Artist. Her illustrious career also includes collaborations with icons like Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars and Sheryl Crow.

heart theory

Out August 14

New single “wAnt me back” Out Now

U.S. chart topping musician, vocalist and songwriter Lindsay Ell has announced her new album heart theory, out August 14th. Lindsay premiered new single “wAnt me back”,which was co-written with Kane Brown, Matt McGinn & Lindsay Rimes, on BBC Radio 2. Pre-save, add and order heart theory on digital platforms HERE.

Lindsay Ell is a triple threat:  accomplished musician, unique vocalist and awe-inspiring songwriter – an impeccable cross between Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift. The Calgary native learned to play guitar while traveling with her father to camps as a young girl. Ell honed her craft as a musical stylist and songwriter after being discovered by BTO and The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman (“American Woman” / “Taking Care of Business”) who discovered her at the age of 13. The multi-instrumentalist was soon touring alongside the likes of Luke Bryan, Buddy Guy, and Keith Urban.

heart theory is an incredibly personal concept album comprised of 12 tracks that journey through each stage of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance. Ell co-wrote 11 of the songs, enlisting help from acclaimed writers & artists including Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line and Brandy Clark among others on the project.

While heart theory stemmed from Ell’s personal experience, its arc serves as a source of solace for the universal process of experiencing any type of hardship. “If theory is the science of music, heart theory is the science of a heart,” Ell says of the record. “I hope this roadmap can be a comfort if you need it, reassurance when you need to remember to believe in yourself or maybe just a glimpse into a memory that’s made you who you are.”

The concept of heart theory extends to every aspect of the album – its cover art features the spectrum of corresponding colors to each stage, mirroring the music’s movement itself from dark to light, while its track list subtly reveals the album title through use of seemingly random capitalisation.

Due to quarantine, Ell completed heart theory with legendary producer Dann Huff from a distance and two different locations. Ell takes the unique challenge posed by the pandemic to almost every element of album completion in stride: “If my last record was called The Project, this could be called The Process.”

Ell has amassed more than 123 million on demand streams to date.

“Once Upon A Mind is by far James’ most personal and raw (album) since
his debut.”
– The Sun

“If Back To Bedlam was his songs of innocence then Once Upon A Mind is his songs
of experience.”
– EVENT (Mail On Sunday)

To celebrate the release of the ‘Time Suspended’ deluxe edition of his stunning Top 3 album ‘Once Upon A Mind’, James Blunt has released a nostalgic video for previously unheard track, ‘Should I Give It All Up (Demo)’.

Shot by James himself in lockdown and directed/edited by Jacob Wise, the video for ‘Should I Give It All Up (Demo)’ features highlights from James’ official videos across the years and is a fitting celebration of a momentous career. Of the track James said, “It’s about insecurities. We all have them.”

Watch the video for ‘Should I Give It All Up (Demo)’ HERE

The release of the deluxe version comes as ‘Once Upon A Mind’ fast approaches Gold status, smashing 100,000 UK sales, and features two brand new, original demos, and five stunning, acoustic versions of songs from the album.

His classic 2004 debut album ‘Back To Bedlam’, was recently named as one of the top ten best selling albums of that decade, and with ‘Once Upon A Mind’, James Blunt has reinforced his reputation for writing honest, emotional songs that people can easily relate to.

‘Once Upon A Mind’ has marked a return to what James Blunt does best – writing classic songs that touch both the heart and the head. Amongst the string of six hit singles, the album includes the breezy first single ‘Cold’, the heartbreaking ballad for his father ‘Monsters’, and the latest smash ‘The Greatest’ – of which the video applauds the NHS and health workers in the frontlines, battling the coronavirus.

James Blunt has sold over 23 million albums, had a global smash hit with ‘You’re Beautiful’ and has showcased his wit and charm more recently with his always engaging twitter account.

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT’s UNFOLLOW THE RULES: THE PARAMOUR SESSION

Today GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright announces Unfollow the Rules: The Paramour Session, a concert that will be livestreamed on Saturday, June 27th at 2pm EST / 8pm CET / 7pm BST.

The livestream will premiere in Germany and France on ARTE Concert and ARTE Concert’s Facebook and ALL ARTS’ Facebook for the U.S. and all other territories. ARTE’s stream of the concert will be available as VOD for 90 days. The livestream will also be accessible via Rufus Wainwright’s Official Facebook

Rufus will perform acoustically, with a socially distanced string section, piano and guitar to accompany him, in the ballroom of LA’s Paramour Mansion, former home of silent film star Antonio Moreno. The concert will feature Rufus’ upcoming album Unfollow the Rules in its entirety plus some additional songs from Wainwright’s existing repertoire and some new compositions, one of them written during and reflecting on the lockdown period reflecting.

Rufus Wainwright has released this statement regarding the concert:

“The Paramour Session will show a completely different side of Unfollow the Rules. Acoustic, stripped back, sparser, but. in a Rufus Wainwrightian sense of course. Good songs can survive in many different environments. I want my fans to have an opportunity to hear the music live when the album comes out. The only way we can do this responsibly during these times is with acoustic instruments, and fewer musicians in a large space, where everyone can be 6 feet or more apart, with a super small crew. Rather than attempting to imitate the sound of the album I think it’s both more responsible and more creatively interesting to try something new. There are no drums, no effects, no bass, no horns, no flutes, no back-up vocals — only strings that are bowed, picked, hammered, or strummed, and my voice. Let’s hope less is more. Of course, it helps that we are filming and live streaming this from the gorgeous ballroom of the Paramour Estate, a 1920s Hollywood silent film star’s mansion.”

UNFOLLOW THE RULES has already been met with remarkable praise from some of Wainwright’s friends, fans, and fellow artists. “This is pop music on a grand scale; sweeping, symphonic, unabashedly emotional and fearlessly agnostic in style and delivery,” says Sting, while Cyndi Lauper described the album as “Rufus’ PET SOUNDS. It sounds like a culmination of everything he has done. It’s a great album, catchy and intelligent.”

The band will consist of:

Brian Green, guitar and music director

Jacob Mann, piano and celeste

Rebecca Schlappich Charles, violin

Eliza James, violin

Jayna Chou, viola

Danica Pinner, cello

Uploads New Track To Social Media

Listen To ‘River In The Sky’ HERE

Duffy uploads a moving new track, ‘River In the Sky’. The deeply personal and emotive piano-driven song will only be made available across Duffy’s social media channels, which Duffy captions with the words: “For the better days to come.”

Duffy, who recently shared her harrowing story explaining her disappearance from the public eye, first took the brave step of sharing new music by sending Jo Whiley an “only for radio” track, called ‘Something Beautiful’, in March. The beautifully raw and poignant ‘River In The Sky’ is another step for Duffy, as she becomes a little more confident to “sing again.”

Listen to ‘River In the Sky’ HERE

In a personal account, on her blog (http://duffywords.com/), Duffy wrote, “I never knew if I would get to the place of being able to do this, I am grateful to get here. Not everyone has the privilege of being able to talk, such as I am doing today,” as she explained in detail the account of a rape and kidnap ordeal that would steal “thousands of days from her life.”

She further explains, “Finally, the realisation that the very thing that hurt me, will become the very thing that heals me. I faced a deeply inhumane experience; only humanity can heal that.” ‘River in the sky’ discusses sorrow and the desire to be unburdened; she sings, “As I walk this life, doubt on my mind, I pray to fly, burden free.”

This is something simply for people to enjoy “for the better days to come”.

Releases Enchanting New Single ‘Philadelphia’

Taken From The Stunning Forthcoming Debut Album

‘Saudade’ Out August 21st

Nashville, TN – Saudade’, the impressive debut album from Juni Ata is set for independent release on August 21st via Flying On Fire Records.

‘Saudade’is a deeply emotional collection of 11 songs brimming with poetic lyrics, rich melodies and arrangements that are as lush and elevating at times as they are sparse and captivating elsewhere. The album serves as an introduction to an artist who has been writing songs for himself for years with no intention of ever recording or releasing them. Thanks to the provocation of a dear friend, and the unfortunate circumstances dictated by a global pandemic, the music of Juni Ata will finally see the light of day this summer, starting with the sweeping new track “Philadelphia”.

Listen to ‘Philadelphia’ HERE

‘Saudade’ (sow-da-day), a Portuguese word loosely translated as “a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing”, is the work of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Jesse Daniel Edwards, who records under the moniker Juni Ata. Edwards was raised in a small mountain town in Southern California in a loving and deeply religious home, with minimal exposure to secular music. Edwards didn’t hear his first Dylan song until his early 20’s, yet music was all around the house. As he grew older, he performed in a duo with his brother both in clubs and busking, but that eventually ended followed by a stint in the Los Angeles area. Edwards decided to relocate to Nashville, where John Prine’s late manager Al Bunetta took him under his wing and became a friend and mentor before his untimely passing in 2015.

After losing his mother and a crushing breakup, Edwards’ drive was diminished, he also felt his music didn’t fit with current trends, so he pulled back and chose to only write for himself. With the change of direction, he joined up with his friend Jake Rosswog taking a job in tour management for Morrissey for some time as well as Lucinda Williams, while still furtively writing. He had no intention of ever recording or releasing the music he was creating.

Then, one night in 2018 after some drinking in West Virginia, Rosswog coaxed Edwards into a studio where he convinced him to record one of his songs, which sparked some momentum. Rosswog became both a creative and motivating force as producer, arranger and even co-writer on four tracks. He enlisted revered musicians such a Steve Cropper and recorded at the legendary RCA Studio C. The result was a set of mesmerizing, heartfelt songs with a decade of heartbreak and loss behind them featuring Edward’s aching vocals, stellar musicianship, lush horn and string arrangements, soaring background vocals. With no set plan to put them out into world, Rosswog and Edwards went back to their day jobs and regular lives. Then, a year later COVID-19 happened. The touring industry came to an indefinite halt, which got Rosswog’s wheels turning, which brings everything to the present and plans to finally release this music.

‘Saudade’ opens with “Philadelphia” followed by the epic passion of “Fight Hard, Run Fast”. Tracks such as “Good Enough Ain’t Bad”, When It Rains In LA” and “I’ll Try Anything Twice” feature driving rhythms and infectious pop sensibilities that are refreshing and could have found their way into a mid-90’s FM playlist. “Hard Letting You Down Easy” is a breathtaking solo performance with just vocal and piano. The album closes with the inspirational, gospel-infused “Not Going Anywhere”, a song of indomitable desire about owning the choices we make.

While it took something as extreme as the current global situation for Saudade to see the light of day, maybe this is the right time for Juni Ata. The album is the result of a cathartic process. The songs are spirited, full of love, loss, growth and the strength to move forward. Is there ever really a wrong time for that?

– EVENT (Mail On Sunday)

James Blunt is back to his best and at the top of his game, in a year that has seen him go from strength to strength. He today announces the ‘Time Suspended’deluxe edition of his stunning Top 3 album ‘Once Upon A Mind’ – out June 26th on Atlantic Records.

The deluxe version comes as ‘Once Upon A Mind’ fast approaches Gold status, smashing 100,000 UK sales, and features two brand new, original demos, and five stunning, acoustic versions of songs from the album.
