Out January 31st, 2025 On Modern Sky Records

Includes Brand New Single ‘The Last Time’ – Out Now

Headline Date at The Arts Club, Liverpool – December 13th

“A future megastar” – The Guardian

“Scottish indie star-in-waiting already mingling with the greats” – NME
“A stunning slice of soul”Telegraph
“Megastar in-the-making” The Line Of Best Fit

Following her breakout in 2023, which saw debut mixtape Black Is The New Gold shortlisted at the Scottish Album Of The Year Awards, one of Scotland’s most exciting artists Brooke Combe announces her debut album Dancing At The Edge Of The World – due for release January 31st, 2025 on Modern Sky Records.

Today also sees the release of brand new track ‘The Last Time’. Following its premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music from Craig Charles, the track is an impactful final goodbye that strikes with every chord and cutting lyric, brilliantly capturing that widespread experience of coming to terms with the fact a relationship in terminal decline cannot be salvaged – listen HERE & watch the lyric video HERE.

Fans got a first taste of new music when Brooke dropped the album’s title track last month, with her beautifully captivating vocals taking the front seat in this stunning, laid back soul jam – listen HERE.

Collaborating with musician and producer James Skelly, best known as the frontman of The Coral, Dancing At The Edge Of The World is the perfect opening statement, showing a tantalising first look at the artist she will become. Redolent of those first offerings from Michael Kiwanuka, Duffy and Corinne Bailey Rae, it revels in lush, orchestral arrangements, irresistible rhythms and a voice that could have come right out of Motown.

Brooke explains; “This album is the most authentic piece of work I’ve done so far. After experimenting with a few different styles and working with different song writers, I decided to go back to my roots and work with my original team and created something that I genuinely love. We’ve created a real summer soul album. Recorded live to tape, it captures similar vibes to all my favourite old soul records, and delves into themes relating to love, toxic relationships (no surprises there), as well as exploring escapism. Overall this album is raw, mean, groovy & emotional.”

Around the time Brooke was leaving her first label, she wrote the title track, born from a quote Skelly shared with her, embodying hope, freedom, and new beginnings. Returning to her roots, she recorded the album live to tape with her original team, aiming to capture the spirit of her favourite records.

The project, completed in just six months, showcases vocal prowess and emotional depth in tracks like ‘Pieces’ – a dignified yet devastating condemnation of an ex-lover. Her songwriting is deeply personal, ranging from the hypnotic ‘Butterfly’ to the soulful ‘If I Could Only Be Yours’. She explores themes of love and loss with a raw candour in ‘Guilt’, writing from her father’s perspective during a rocky relationship. Her empathy and emotional depth are further highlighted in the direct lyrics of ‘L.M.T.F.A.’.

Tipped by Rolling Stone UK as ‘One of 2023’s defining artists’ in their ‘Ones To Watch’ and in Dork Magazine’s ‘Hype List 2023’ and already garnering support from the likes of The Guardian, NME, Clash, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Radio X, Brooke Combe continues to rise as one of the UK’s hottest talents.

Throughout the record, Brooke offers listeners a sense of closure but, with it, possibilities –  as though with the closing of one door, myriad others are opening to the sound of her voice. Dancing At The Edge Of The World is a resounding, indisputable opening salvo from Britain’s newest and brightest star.

Brooke will return to Liverpool for a very special date at The Arts Club in Liverpool on Friday December 13th. Tickets are on-sale HERE.

New Studio Album I AmOut September 20th

Sep/Oct UK In-Store Dates
2 Week November UK Arena Tour Supporting The Script

Coming off the back of a stellar UK & European festival run, lighting up the UK airwaves and his rowdiest ‘Tom’s Town’ pop up appearance to date, Tom Walker today unveils the beautiful title track to his highly-anticipated new album I Am out September 20th.

A stunning, subdued beats and keys-led track, ‘I Am’ gallops in and out of Tom’s delicate, honest vocals before absolutely exploding into life with aplomb – listen HERE.

As Tom explains on the album and song title, with typically forceful passion and honesty: “I’ve called it ‘I Am’ because it’s the culmination of me trying to figure out who I am for the last four years. This record is a snapshot of what’s been going on in my life, and what’s been happening around me – what’s made me happy or sad, ecstatic or miserable.”

The album has already seen impeccable releases in ‘Burn’, ‘Freaking Out’, ‘Head Underwater’ and ‘Holy Ghost’. Tom performed ‘Burn’ & ‘Freaking Out’ with aplomb on Later…With Jools Holland. Watch HERE & HERE.

Where previously, Tom became known for powerful accounts of other people’s stories, including a friend’s battle with drugs (‘Leave A Light On’), and articulating his own relatable feelings for his now wife (‘Just You & I’); on his new album he now finds himself writing about his own personal struggles and anxieties, creative challenges, sadness and moments of despair. It is a sometimes visceral account of who Tom Walker is in 2024, hence the title: I Am.

After writing, and binning, a plethora of new tracks, an exhausted Tom subsequently headed out to Los Angeles to write with the McDonough brothers, Toby Gadd, Ryan Daly & Castle, who’s credits between them include Beyonce, Joji, Khalid, Benson Boone, Mimi Webb and John Legend. The trip reignited the excitement and love of trying brand new things.

The results speak for themselves with ‘Freaking Out’, ‘Lifeline’, ‘Burn’, ‘Head Underwater’ and now ‘Holy Ghost’. Looking ahead, Tom plays an intimate run of UK in-stores dates before heading out to the US and Europe for his own headline tour. He then returns to the UK & Europe for an arena tour with The Script across November & December.

As Tom succinctly puts it; I will die for these songs. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt like that. You’ve got to ignore what everyone else wants from you, and you’ve got to back yourself.”

Honesty and confession, anger and agitation, frustration and relief, succour and support – this is I Am all over, and this Tom Walker, all in.

Tom will next head out on a run of UK in-store performances to support the release of I Am, then to Europe & the US for headline tours, before returning to the UK & Europe for an arena tour with The Script across November & December:

Out OCTOBER 18TH

THE ERA DEFINING 80s CLASSIC FEATURES “YOU GOT LUCKY,” “CHANGE OF HEART” AND SONGS PETTY WISHED WERE INCLUDED ON THE ORIGINAL ALBUM

FEATURING 12 RE-DISCOVERED TRACKS INCLUDING 7 PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED

NEW VIDEO FOR “STRAIGHT INTO DARKNESS” OUT NOW

Over four decades after its debut, a deluxe edition of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ groundbreaking but often overlooked 1982 album, Long After Dark, will be released via Geffen/UMe on October 18th. Pre-order/pre-save here.

The Petty Legacy archives will share previously unseen newly remastered film and audio from 1982 to 1983 this year, beginning with a new video for the French TV version of “Straight Into Darkness” featuring footage of the band performing at the Record Plant by award-winning director Alan Bibby – watch here and listen here.

“There was some music recorded for Long After Dark that didn’t get on the record, that I thought would’ve made it a better album,” said Tom Petty. “I left off…four things that I liked quite a bit. And probably a few more written that never even got in the door.”

Looking back on their third and final album together, legendary rock music producer Jimmy Iovine reflects, “Long After Dark, we thought we had it. Sounded like Positively Fourth Street, sounded like one of those records, you know. By the way, I think it is!”

Despite it being a golden era of The Heartbreakers playing at the height of their powers, it is widely known as the band’s most misunderstood and underrated success. The album features an edgy collection of rock ballads and guitar anthems backed by the unmistakable sound of The Heartbreakers, including founding members Mike Campbell (lead guitar), Benmont Tench (keyboards), Stan Lynch (drums), plus the new addition of Howie Epstein on bass and backing vocals.

Long After Dark (Deluxe Edition) will feature the songs that were lost in the debate over the album’s original direction. Notable highlights include finding Petty’s version of “Never Be You” – which was a #1 country hit for Rosanne Cash – pop anomaly “Don’t Make Me Walk the Line,” and an up-tempo version of “Ways To Be Wicked,” which was previously covered by Lone Justice, recorded at Applewood Studios in Denver, Colorado.

Many of the additional tracks are taken from the French TV sessions, including acoustic gems, “Turning Point” and the Everly Brothers influenced “Keeping Me Alive.”

Long After Dark was a smash by the usual standards – Top 10 in Billboard, certified gold – and spawned three fan favourites, “You Got Lucky,” “Change of Heart” and “Straight Into Darkness.” Though it remains an unsung gem amongst its predecessors, Damn the Torpedoes and Hard Promises. “It’s a good little rock & roll record” but also “a tough record because I never knew if we were making the right decisions about songs,” Petty shared in Paul Zollo’s interview anthology, Conversations With Tom Petty.

Long After Dark (Deluxe Edition) features the newly remastered original album from the original analog master tapes, plus 12 rediscovered bonus tracks newly mixed by Petty’s longtime engineer Ryan Ulyate and boasts packaging designed by Grammy Award-winning designer Jeri Heiden, liner notes by legendary rock journalist and Tom Petty Radio host David Fricke, with commentary from Jimmy Iovine and Cameron Crowe and iconic archival photographs by Dennis Callahan, Neal Preston and Aaron Rapoport. The set will be released in a variety of configurations, highlighted by a limited edition TomPetty.com 2LP pressing on 180-gram red with black splatter colour vinyl, housed in a numbered foil tip-on jacket with an exclusive lithograph; a 3-disc set featuring 2 CDs, and a Blu-ray audio disc with additional hi-res stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes of the album and bonus tracks, also mixed by Ulyate; a variety of additional vinyl options includes a 2LP on 180-gram black vinyl; a limited edition 1LP 180-gram turquoise colour vinyl pressing (main album only) with double-sided lithograph of Blaze Brooks’ illustrations (available exclusively at indie record stores).

The album will also be available at all streaming, download and HD audio download partners.

For more info, complete tracklisting and to pre-order 2 LP versions and 3 disc set visit the official Tom Petty store.

First Single ‘Proud’ – Out Now

March/April 2025 12-Date UK Arena Headline Tour
Includes London’s The O2 – April 13th, 2025

TICKETS ON GENERAL SALE FRIDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER VIA LIVENATION.CO.UK

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe are back, and this time it’s personal. Together At Home, the pair’s brand new sixth studio album arrives on November 8th, marking their 10th year making music together and is the much-loved collaborators’ hymn to the people and places that mean the most to them – and to their army of fans.

The chart-topping, arena-filling, multi-million-selling duo’s first taste arrives in the shape of ‘Proud’ – the timeless 2000 debut solo single from former M People singer Heather Small, here lent wings by two all-time classic male voices – listen here.

“It’s a song that was used for the 2012 London Olympics,” begins Ball. “And this summer I went to the Paris Olympics to watch Grace, my granddaughter, playing in the rugby sevens with Team GB. There’s me and [my partner] Cathy [McGowan] sat in the Stade de France, 66,000 people. On she runs and genuinely, I’ve never felt so proud in my life – or as nervous! And when she scored a try, and there’s her name up on the scoreboard, it was wonderful. The heart-bursting pride Cath and I both felt – incredible!”

“We’re proud of where we’re from. Proud of this country, of being British and welcoming people home. And welcoming people into our home,” Boe adds pointedly, “is something that I think is important.”

Each singer is long used to being away on tour for months on end, so, when it came to selecting songs for the new album, for each of them, certain songs were immediate no-brainers…

“For me the first one was probably ‘Homeward Bound’ by Paul Simon,” says Ball. “It’s obviously written by an American, and from an American perspective, but it was written in the UK, at Widnes train station. It’s about people who are on the road, far from home.” Ball could very much relate. “You get tired, you get jaded, you get homesick. Paul Simon articulately and musically describes that feeling.”

Considerably less of a familiar standard was one of Boe’s first suggestions. Trawling through Spotify, he stumbled across a song titled ‘Welcome Home’ by a little known band actually called The Welcome Home, from the college town of Athens, Georgia. With the feel of a modern, secular hymn, or Coldplay-gone-Deep South, it immediately spoke to Boe.

Home, in a geographical sense, is represented in other songs. Lifelong Liverpool FC fan Boe was keen for the inclusion of ‘Ferry Cross The Mersey’, another anthem by Kop favourite Gerry Marsden. Adoptive Londoner Ball still feels a shiver when he hears Gerry Rafferty’s ‘Baker Street’. Both have huge affection for Ewan MacColl’s folk standard ‘Dirty Old Town’, written about Salford. And staying in Manchester, Ball and Boe were equally keen to have one of the city’s great musical sons represented. Take a bow Mr. Gary Barlow, and his magisterial Take That composition ‘Rule the World’.

Boe – a son of Fleetwood, Lancashire – is thrilled to see the northwest also represented by The Hollies’ track ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother’. And there’s much more, from ‘Up Where We Belong’ to a closing Irish medley that, the pair promise, will “bring the hoolie” – that is, bring the party – when they hit the road next spring. And, as Michael Ball intimated, together in the studio or on stage with Alfie Boe is where he himself feels at home.

Together At Home follows the phenomenal success of the duo’s previous five duet albums; Their debut Together, became the UK’s best-selling album of 2016, beating The Rolling Stones to the Christmas No.1 spot.

This was followed by Together Again, which brought the pair yet another No.1 album in 2017. Ball and Boe went on to release Back Together in 2019 which reached No.2, before a third No.1 album, Together at Christmas in 2020.

After decorated careers in theatre and opera, Michael and Alfie were suddenly chart superstars. As a duo, they have now sold over 1.5 million albums in the UK, received two Classic Brit Awards, sold-out three headline arena tours and presented three ITV Specials.

The duo will now take to the road in a 12-date marathon across the UK in March & April next year for a huge run of arena headline shows that will bring this special album to life, including a night at London’s The O2 on April 13th.

They are Ball and Boe, and they’re together at home, waiting to connect you with those feelings of peace and love, joy and celebration.

Debut Album It’s Nothing Out September 27th

“Indie pals with the bold ambition of future festival headliners” – NME
“Irresistible indie pop peppered with brilliantly surreal lyrics and infectious hooks”Rolling Stone UK

“One of the UK’s most exciting new acts.” – The Forty-Five

After a huge summer of festivals across the UK and Europe Dolores Forever provide the antidote for summer blues with their infectiously bold new single ‘Concrete’. The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming debut album It’s Nothing, which comes September 27th on Sweat Entertainment.

You can’t pick your favourite child, but this is definitely one of ours,” the duo say of the track. “It’s a defiant rager of a bop about taking rightful credit for the things we create.Listen to ‘Concrete’ HERE.

There’s an infectiously playful, unapologetic feminist energy at the heart of the London-based band, and now, Dolores Forever are ready to release their debut album. It’s a “punchy indie-pop record about feminism, friendship and navigating a messed up world. It blows our minds that the music industry is obsessed with hearing from people who are just 21. As we’ve gotten into our thirties, we have so many more stories, and so much more to say.”

The album is inspired by the last ten years weathering unfair treatment as female songwriters in a male-dominated industry. Julia, from Copenhagen, co-wrote the winning 2013 Eurovision entry for Denmark, Only Teardrops, while Hannah, from London, has written with Kylie and Stormzy.

Their friendship, concludes Hannah, “really is the band’s life blood. Women connect with each other on this amazing level, even in adulthood, and we wanted to make adult female friendship a little more visible. And to say, actually, we should value friendships just as highly as romantic relationships.”

Dolores Forever are building unstoppable momentum.

October UK Headline Tour including London’s Omeara – Oct 10th

“A movingly pragmatic distinction between desire and self-respect set to pedal steel.” – THE GUARDIAN

Razor-sharp lyrics, confiding, crystalline vocals and nods to classic country rock & soft pop, with
results that are ensnaring & bewitching” – SUNDAY TIMES

“Modern-day reflections on disco euphoria and Canyon contemplation.” – UNCUT

“Bursting with blues-rock and blissed-out psychedelia.”PITCHFORK

One of the US’ finest rising artists Pearl Charles today drops her enchanting new single ‘Does This Song Sound Familiar?’ – listen here. The track follows her recent, fantastic, trippy offering ‘Smoke In The Limousine’.

Does This Song Sound Familiar?’ – an exploding serving of sun-soaked, upbeat joy right from the heart of the Mojave Desert – arrives ahead of Pearl’s forthcoming set at The Long Road Festival on Aug 24th, and comes with the announcement of an October UK headline tour, which will see shows in four major UK cities, including her biggest UK headline show to date on October 10th at London’s Omeara

Of the new track, Pearl explains; “On a hot summer night, sitting alone as the sun went down in its usual spectacular desert fashion, Does This Song Sound Familiar? was born on a gust of Santa Ana wind. Like the same mirages and hallucinogenic visions that have been conjured so many times before in the Mojave Desert I call home, the music and lyrics floated in like peyote-induced psilocybin dream encounters with the deeper levels of my own psyche. This quintessentially desert song explores life, identity, reincarnation and alternate dimensions, likening “the song” to the cycle of life and positing that perhaps we have all been here before, and that we will be here again.”

2021 saw the release of Pearl’s highly acclaimed album Magic Mirror, which drew high praise from the likes of The Guardian, Sunday Times, Uncut, Pitchfork and saw single ‘Givin’ It Up’ light up the airwaves on BBC 6 Music.

Pearl has been playing music since she was five years old. At 18, she formed country duo The Driftwood Singers with Christian Lee Hutson, singing and playing guitar and autoharp. After a few fun-filled years immersed in the rock and roll lifestyle, she decided it was time to pursue her own songwriting, and began developing the songs that formed 2015’s eponymous debut EP and additional debut LP that came out in 2018 on Kanine Records. She has headlined national and international dates as well as shared the stage with contemporaries Weyes Blood, Best Coast, Sunflower Bean, Mac Demarco, Conor Oberst, The Teskey Brothers etc, as well as festival plays like ACL, Pickathon and Desert Daze.

Her music career has been a chronological progression from old-time music to 60’s garage and psychedelia, and now more 70’s country and soft rock. Play Reading & Leeds Festival Main Stage This Weekend

Following a blistering show at London’s O2 Arena in March this year, Pendulum have teamed up with hotly-tipped punk hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae on their abrasive new single ‘Napalm’.

The track is the first new music the band have dropped in 2024 and comes ahead of their unmissable main stage performance on Reading & Leeds Festival main stages this weekend.

A raucous drum and bass floor filler, ‘Napalm’ is Pendulum at their heaviest. Produced by Rob Swire at his London studio the track is raw, infectious and ready made for the festival main stages. Listen to ‘Napalm’ HERE.

Speaking of the collaboration, Rob Swire said, “as soon as I heard their single ‘Punk Tactics’ I knew we had to work together on a heavy DnB track”. Joey Valence & Brae continue “this is such a legendary collab for us. We’ve both been fans of Pendulum and drum and bass in general for so long, so it’s crazy to finally do a track together.”

Undoubtedly one of the biggest electronic bands of all time, Pendulum have 3 platinum albums to their name, including renowned debut Hold Your Colour and a UK #1 and #2 for Immersion and In Silico. The drum and bass/rock band from Perth, Australia have sold over a million albums in the UK alone, as well as selling out global arena tours and playing to thousands across main stage performances from Glastonbury and Download to Reading and Leeds on top of a headline slot at Ultra Miami.

The band returned with their EP Elemental in 2021 along with the comeback of the live band. In 2023 they followed up with their EP Anima, featuring Matt Tuck from Bullet For My Valentine and acclaimed trap metal artist Scarlxrd. The band completed their biggest UK headline tour to date in 2024, including a stop at London’s O2 and with more music slated for 2024/25 the band are back on strong form.

Taken From New Album EELS
Out September 27th Via Bayonet

“Surf-rock riffs, oddball humour, and warped Americana storytelling define the Austin band” — Pitchfork

“One of the most chaotic trios in Texas.”  — The Line Of Best Fit

“Part scuzz-rock haymaker, part paisley-coloured psychedelic singalong, ‘Firefighters’ could function equally well as a theme song for the titular emergency service members or a more universal anthem for the ever-encroaching calamity.” — The FADER

Being Dead — the Austin, TX-based project of multi-instrumentalists and best friends Falcon Bitch and Shmoofy — present a new single, ‘Nightvision’, from their new album, EELS, out September 27th on Bayonet.

‘Nightvision’ opens with an alluring voice and acoustic guitar intro before kicking into a driving, moody beat, with just enough of the band’s unhinged weirdness peppered throughout. As Paste states, “caught somewhere between garage rock and surfing castaways, [Being Dead’s] music is for the oldheads and the new guard,” and “Nightvision” is another staple in their colourful catalogue.

Listen to Being Dead’s ‘Nightvision

A band whose varying origin stories have been immortalised across the last seven years of being a band, Falcon Bitch and Shmoofy deliver each story with a wink, inviting you in on the joke. Something about their music suggests it’s a dispatch from both the future and the past – vocal harmonies that sound like they’re reverberating in a medieval church to surfy guitar lines, weirdo-punky cacophonies erupting into chaos. There’s the sense that these are two people who are strangers to all that is banal – there is always fun to be had, a little mischievous magic waiting around the corner, if you know how to find or make it.

Like its animal namesake suggests, the songs on EELS are malleable, the record like slithering through murky waters or strange half dreams, mysterious and beautiful in how it moves, reflective in a wavering sheen. Dipping into each song feels like uncovering a new cavern, plunging into depths unknown but fully open to what will be revealed. EELS feels like an album of possibilities, little tasters of what might be next, a vast and limitless stretching out before them.
