Listen to ‘Little T&A’ HERE

“The real stuff,” is how Keith Richards describes The X-Pensive Winos. “I wish to thank all the guys in this crazy beautiful band. Something to love. I know I do.”

Keith had assembled the core of this band throughout 1987 and ’88 during the ‘Talk Is Cheap’ sessions. For this first ever live solo Keith Richards tour, the stellar line-up was a who’s who of the finest musicians on the planet: guitarist Waddy Wachtel (Everly Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstandt, Stevie Nicks), drummer Steve Jordan (long time Keith collaborator), bassist Charley Drayton,  keyboard player Ivan Neville (Rolling Stones collaborator), singer Sarah Dash, and on saxophone, the inimitable, late great, long time Rolling Stones sideman Bobby Keys.

Live At The Hollywood Palladium comes as a special deluxe box set, presented in a matching folio, wrapped in a black cotton replica of the tour shirt sold that night, complete with a satin VIP pass on top, also including an impeccable all-new essay ‘The Loosest Tight Band You’ve Ever Heard’ by renowned rock writer David Fricke. It comes as a reissue after the original album was released due to popularity of the bootlegs.

‘Enola Gay’ With Limited Edition 12” Coloured Vinyl
out November 27th on UMC/EMI
Hot Chip Remix – Listen Here
New & Enhanced HD Version Of The Original ‘Enola Gay’ Video – Watch Here

Special Live Stream Show ‘You Me & OMD’ @ London’s Indigo at The O2
October 24th @ 9.00pm

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) have today announced a limited edition 12” coloured vinyl release of the band’s legendary anti-war hit single ‘Enola Gay’, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its original release, and 75 years since the World War II atomic bombing of Hiroshima by the Enola Gay aircraft.

The release features two brand new mixes of the track by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys. One extended mix uses the original master multi-track, that sounds like the 12″ version that never was, but should have been released in 1980. The second is a slowed down, chilled out rework that is far removed from the original, but remains undeniably glorious.

The digital version is available to purchase today, and pre-orders for the 12” coloured vinyl are available now HERE. The band have also unveiled a special new and enhanced HD version of the original ‘Enola Gay’ video – watch here.

The single has also received a sublime hypnotic remix from Hot Chip’s Al Doyle, out today. Of the remix, Al comments; “Getting your hands on the raw material of ‘Enola Gay’ feels like stealing into hallowed halls. It’s already a perfect song, so this is just a tribute and an homage, made all the more meaningful with the occurrence this year of the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombs on Japan. OMD forever.”

Listen to Hot Chip’s remix of Enola Gay HERE

Recorded at Ridge Farm Studios in Dorking, and released on September 26th, 1980, ‘Enola Gay’ was the only single from the band’s second studio album  ‘Organisation’.

Lyrically detailing the atomic bombing on Hiroshima during World War II by the B29 Superfortress aircraft, the song scored a UK Top 10 on the singles charts and went on to become an international success, selling more than 5 million copies worldwide and ingraining itself as a synth pop classic and arguably OMD’s signature track.

The band will also perform a special live streamed show from London’s Indigo at The O2 on October 24th – set to raise money and awareness for their crew, whose livelihoods have been so affected in the wake of the global Covid-19 pandemic.

New Album ‘20’ Released October 23rd on BMG

‘Il Gladiatore’ Out Now
20th Anniversary Tour Now 2021

Hard to believe it’s been twenty years since the release of ‘The Voice’, the landmark debut album from Russell Watson and the bestselling classical album of this century. Now the boy is a man celebrating twenty years at the top with a career that has inspired so many and created an entire genre of classical music in the process.

’20’, is an anniversary disc which captures key moments in his career with 13 newly recorded songs sung in his unmistakable trademark tenor.

Russell has overcome many things in his life maintaining a dignity few could rival when struck by not one but two brain tumours and bouncing back in better voice than before, so he wasn’t going to let lockdown stand in the way of his stunning new album. Travel restrictions meant that long-time producer Ian Tilley had to stay in his native New Zealand so he assembled a socially distanced orchestra in Christchurch while Russell hunkered down in Wilmslow, taking instructions and overseeing proceedings via Skype.

“Normally I’d always be at orchestra sessions, but in fact this didn’t feel much different,” Russell admits. “I was in a booth wearing headphones. I could have been 10 feet rather than 10,000 miles away.”

The track listing is a veritable feast of reimagining’s of his greatest hits. “There are certain songs that needed to be there because they define my career, with regards to recording but particularly live,” Russell says. “Volare is a staple. I’ve sung it at every concert for at least 25 years. And obviously Nessun Dorma, which launched my career.”

And what a career. Warmly referred to as the People’s Tenor, Russell’s journey took him from a Salford estate to the world’s most prestigious concert halls, and to becoming the best-selling male classical artist of all time.

“You don’t come from a Salford factory floor to conquering the classical world without being a driven lunatic”.

‘20’ Track listing

  1. Nabucco: Va, Pensiero
  2. Il Gladiatore (Based on Themes from the Motion Picture “Gladiator”

WITHOUT YOU” FEATURING AMANDA SHIRES OUT NOW

NEW DELUXE ALBUM WHAT YOU SEE AIN’T ALWAYS WHAT YOU GET OUT OCTOBER 23

ACM, CMA and CMT Award-winning artist Luke Combs’ new song, “Without You” featuring special guest Amanda Shires on violin, is debuting today.

Listen to ‘Without You’ HERE

The song is from Combs’ anticipated new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, which will be released Oct. 23 on River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. In addition to “Without You,” the extended album will feature all 18 songs from Combs’ platinum-certified, global No. 1 record, What You See Is What You Get , as well new tracks “Cold As You,” “The Other Guy,” My Kinda Folk,” and “Forever After All.” Co-produced by Combs, Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton, the five new songs were recorded at Nashville’s Sound Stage Studios.

The release continues a series of groundbreaking and historic years for Combs, who won two awards earlier this week at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards: Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get) and Male Artist of the Year. Combs also performed his new song, “Better Together,” from Nashville’s Bluebird Café during the live awards broadcast. Watch HERE. Moreover, Combs is nominated for six awards at the 54th CMA Awards including Entertainer of the Year.

Continuing his triumphant run at country radio, Combs’ single, “Lovin’ On You,” reached No. 1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart this week while also spending its third week atop the Billboard Country Airplay chart. This is his ninth-consecutive No. 1 single—a first on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart—as well as his eighth single to spend multiple weeks atop the chart and his sixth-consecutive, multi-week No. 1. Combs also recently made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks. The achievement comes as What You See Is What You Get topped the chart for the 25th time earlier this summer, while his 2017 debut, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1—tying the record for the longest reign atop the chart with Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997.

Additional notable achievements and recognitions:

  • Awarded three iHeartRadio Music Awards: Country Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get) and Country Song of the Year (“Beautiful Crazy”).
  • What You See Is What You Get enjoyed the largest streaming week ever for a country album with 74 million on-demand streams upon its release in November 2019. It also achieved the biggest first week of album streams ever for a country artist on Apple Music and was the first country album ever to hit No. 1 on the platform’s U.S. overall albums chart, while also setting a new global record for first-week streams for a country album at Spotify and breaking the Amazon Music record for more first-week streams than any other country album debut.
  • Awarded CMT Performance of the Year at the 2019 CMT Music Awards for his CMT
Crossroads performance of “Beautiful Crazy” with Leon Bridges
  • Awarded Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards
  • Awarded Country Artist of the Year at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards
  • Awarded New Artist of the Year at the 52nd Annual CMA Awards
  • Nominated for Best New Artist at the 61st GRAMMY Awards
  • Recipient of a CMA Triple Play Award for writing three #1 songs in a 12-month period
  • First artist to simultaneously top all five Billboard country charts for multiple weeks: Top
Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Streaming Songs and
Country Digital Song Sales (dated March 9, March 30 and April 6)
  • This One’s For You is certified RIAA Triple Platinum and was also the most-streamed country album of 2019.
  • All five songs on his The Prequel EP charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Top 25—a feat not accomplished by any artist in 60 years since Johnny Cash in 1959.

This intimate, riveting book invites us to travel back in time to January 1969, the beginning of The Beatles’ last year as a band. The BEATLES (‘The White Album’) is still at number one in the charts, but the ever-prolific foursome regroup in London for a new project, initially titled Get Back. Over 21 days, first at Twickenham Film Studios and then at their own brand-new Apple Studios, with cameras and tape recorders documenting every day’s work, the band rehearse a huge number of songs, new and old, in preparation for what proves to be their final concert, which famously takes place on the rooftop of their own Apple Corps office building, bringing central London to a halt.

Legend now has it that these sessions were a grim time for a band falling apart, but, as acclaimed novelist Hanif Kureishi writes in his introduction to THE BEATLES: GET BACK, “In fact this was a productive time for them, when they created some of their best work. And it is here that we have the privilege of witnessing their early drafts, the mistakes, the drift and digressions, the boredom, the excitement, joyous jamming and sudden breakthroughs that led to the work we now know and admire.”

These sessions, which generated the Let It Be album and film released in May 1970, represent the only time in The Beatles’ career that they were filmed at such length while in the studio creating music. Simultaneously, they were exclusively photographed and their conversations recorded.

THE BEATLES: GET BACK is the band’s own definitive book documenting those sessions. It brings together enthralling transcripts of their candid conversations, edited by leading music writer John Harris, with hundreds of extraordinary images, most of them unpublished. The majority of the photographs are by two photographers who had special access to their sessions—Ethan A. Russell and Linda Eastman (who married Paul McCartney two months later).

Peter Jackson’s documentary film will reexamine the sessions using over 55 hours of unreleased original 16-millimetre footage filmed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, now restored, and 120 hours of mostly unheard audio recordings. This sumptuous book also features many unseen high-resolution film frames from the same restored footage.

The Wylie Agency of New York and London will sell global co-edition rights to the book, and Ingram Publisher Services will be the distributor for U.S., Canada, UK, and Ireland.

THE BEATLES: GET BACK promises to be a must-have title, to be collected and treasured by generations of Beatles fans and music lovers worldwide.

Quote by Nicholas Callaway, Founder & Publisher, Callaway Arts & Entertainment:

The Beatles gave my generation their genius and their joy and they changed the world through their art. The creativity and inspiration expressed in this landmark book and in Peter Jackson’s film are as important and relevant today as ever.

Announces New Album ‘Magic Mirror’

Out 15th January 2021 on Kanine Records

New single ‘What I Need’ Out Now

“Breezy pop and country lamentations delivered with a whole lot of soul.” LA WEEKLY

“As if Tom Petty were riding shotgun, Charles and band capture a certain Southern California essence.”– LA TIMES

“Bursting with blues-rock and blissed-out psychedelia.”PITCHFORK

One of the US’ finest rising stars, Pearl Charles, has announced her stunning new album, ‘Magic Mirror’, will be released on Kanine Records on 15th January 2021. Pearl has also shared her entrancing new single, ‘What I Need’.

Speaking of the track Pearl said, “Have you ever stuck with something long after it was time to let go?” She continues, “’What I Need’ explores this choice in terms of a breakup, though it could really be applied to any situation that is no longer serving you. It’s the age-old story of wanting to stay in a comfortable relationship but knowing that you have to move on for personal growth, and the fear and uncertainty that being alone will bring, even though it’s for the best.”

Watch the video for ‘What I Need’ HERE

Magic Mirror is a looking glass of sorts. Like a modern-day Alice in Wonderland, Pearl beckons you to slip and fall into her world. You’ll find yourself drifting with the tide – the ups, downs, and all-arounds of a life well-lived and well-loved.

From start to finish you float along a reflective river, dancing in your own/the personal/private Studio 54 of your living room, decked out in sequins or nothing at all. It’s a feel good album that asks us to actually take the time to feel good. ‘Magic Mirror’ follows the cartography of a girl, growing into a woman, as she moves through life from single-dom, to the expansive space of self-reflection, and the newly appreciated perspective of coming back together again and finding yourself, this time with someone new.

Magic Mirror Tracklisting:
1 Only for Tonight
What I Need
3 Imposter
4 Don’t Feel Like Myself
5 Magic Mirror
6 Slipping Away
7 All the Way
8 Take Your Time
9 Sweet Sunshine Wine
10 As Long As You’re Mine

Pearl has been playing music since she was five years old. At 18, she formed country duo The Driftwood Singers with Christian Lee Hutson, singing and playing guitar and autoharp. At 22, she joined garage rock band The Blank Tapes as a drummer. After a few fun-filled years immersed in the rock and roll lifestyle, she decided it was time to pursue her own songwriting and began developing the songs that formed 2015’s eponymous debut EP and additional debut LP that came out in 2017 on Kanine Records. Subsequently crafting an exhilarating live show in which she has headlined national and international dates as well as shared the stage with contemporaries Best Coast, Sunflower Bean, Mac Demarco, Conor Oberst, etc, as well as festival plays like ACL, Huichica and Desert Daze.

Her music career has been a chronological progression from old-time music to 60’s garage and psychedelia, and now more 70’s country and soft rock. Drawn to catchy, poppy hooks and choruses, Charles draws on what she loves about each era while developing her unique style and voice as a musician, singer, and songwriter.

September 11th sees the release of “Hey Clockface/How Can You Face Me?”, the fourth advance track from the “Hey Clockface” album which will be released by Concord Records on October 30th. The song will be available via the miracle of digital download and streaming.

While that initial trio of bulletins from the Finnish capital were recorded over three days in February, 2020, “Hey Clockface” is the first song to be released from the sessions that took place in Paris on the following weekend.

Listen to ‘Hey Clockface/How Can You Face Me?’ HERE

The ensemble dubbed “Le Quintette Saint Germain” is lead by Steve Nieve at the piano with Mickaël Gasche on trumpet, Renaud-Gabriel Pion on clarinet and contrabass clarinet, Pierre-François “Titi” Diufour on cello and AJUQ on drums.

“This is a song about picking an argument with time, the very clock face, either running too fast or too slow, depending on the company you keep”.

The madcap mood of the song is caught in a new moving picture clip by the production team of Eamon Singer and Arlo McFurlow.

The record opens with a trumpet and vocal duet, quoting the theme of the Fats Waller/Andy Razaf song, “How You Face Me? which dates back to the mid-1930s.

Costello tells us, “None of our arrangements for this session were written down in advance. I sang the theme of “How Can You Face?” to Mickaël and we kicked off this take right away, quoting a few lines of the song in the tag.”

Whether taken at tempo or in ballad form, the two-day session in Paris provided nine of the songs which will be heard on the upcoming “Hey Clockface” album.

“I sang live on the studio floor with the ensemble playing everything I wanted to hear and nothing that I didn’t”, said Costello.

“Hey Clockface” offers an exuberant contrast to the dark tone of “The Helsinki Sound” releases but Costello cautions that we should expect many more surprises ahead, adding, “Watch this space”…

The achievement comes as What You See Is What You Get topped the chart for the 25th time last month, while his 2017 debut, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at #1—tying the record for the longest reign atop the chart with Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997.

August 14th sees the release of Elvis Costello’s “We Are All Cowards Now,” the third advance bulletin from what is now revealed to be a new album, ‘Hey Clockface,’ scheduled for release on October 30th by Concord Records.

‘Hey Clockface’ was recorded in Helsinki, Paris and New York and mixed by Sebastian Krys in Los Angeles.

Following the solo recording of “No Flag,” “Hetty O’Hara Confidential” and “We Are All Cowards Now” at Suomenlinnan Studio, Helsinki by Eetü Seppälä in February 2020, Costello immediately traveled to Paris for a weekend session at Les Studios Saint Germain.

Costello tells us, “I sang live on the studio floor, directing from the vocal booth. We cut nine songs in two days. We spoke very little. Almost everything the musicians played was a spontaneous response to the song I was singing. I’d had a dream of recording in Paris like this, one day.”

The ensemble, dubbed “Le Quintette Saint Germain” by Costello, was recruited for these dates by Steve Nieve (who plays grand piano, upright piano, organ, mellotron & melodica) and features Mickaél Gasche on trumpet, flugel horn and serpent, Pierre-François ‘Titi’ Dufour on cello and the drums, percussion and high harmonies of Ajuq.

Reed player Renaud-Gabriel Pion brought many tones and colours to the performances, playing, contrabass clarinet, bass clarinet, Bb clarinet, tenor saxophone, bass flute and cor anglais.

The Paris sessions were recorded by François Delabrière.

The New York sessions were produced by composer, arranger and trumpet player Michael Leonhart in collaboration with guitarists Bill Frisell and Nels Cline and completed, lyrically and vocally by Costello, “via Electrical Wire.”

“I wanted to write ‘Helsinki-Paris-???’ on the record jacket like this was a perfume or an advertising agency. ‘London’ was a possibility for the third city but London is forever. We’ll be there again. Michael sent this music to me from New York at the perfect time. It connected to elements in both of the previous sessions and completed the picture.”

Speaking of the emotional and dynamic range of the record, Costello said, “I wanted the record to be vivid, whether the songs demanded playing that was loud and jagged or intimate and beautiful.”

The assembled album, ‘Hey Clockface‘ is “An Elvis Costello & Sebastian Krys Production” following on from their work together on Elvis Costello and The Imposters Grammy-winning album ‘Look Now.’

The motion picture of “We Are All Cowards Now” by Eamon Singer & Arlo McFurlow features images of flowers & pistols, smoke & mirrors, tombstones & monuments, courage & cowardice, peace love and misunderstanding.

The designs & photography of Simon Halfon

A 40 year dive into the work of revered graphic designer

A career spanning archive

The Jam, The Style Council, Paul Weller, Oasis, George Michael, The Who, Madness, Steve Winwood, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra & more

Out November 16th via Nemperor
Available to pre-order at

Award-winning graphic designer Simon Halfon, today announces the release of his debut book ‘Cover To Cover’ – to be published by Nemperor on November 16th.

Initially launched as a Kickstarter campaign, and meeting its target in less than six hours, this book includes 40 years of his record sleeves, design work and rarely – if ever – seen photography.

Simon Halfon is an award-winning graphic designer with a career spanning four decades in the music industry. He is most noted for his long standing collaborations with George Michael, Oasis and Paul Weller (with whom he worked for the best part of 30 years) designing some of their most iconic albums, from ‘Listen Without Prejudice’ to ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’to ‘Stanley Road’, his first of three collaborations with Peter Blake.

Along with his designs, this beautifully presented hard back book also gives us the opportunity to see Simon’s rarely if ever seen photos of these iconic artists.

Alongside The Jam, The Style CouncilPaul WellerOasis, George Michael, his design portfolio includes The Who, Madness, Steve Winwood, Nick Heyward, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, James Brown, the Blue Note label and many more.

‘Cover To Cover’ also showcases Halfon’s production work for the feature films Sleuth, starring Michael Caine & Jude Law, as well as the Oasis feature length documentary Supersonic.

On the creation of the book, Halfon explains; “During lockdown I took the opportunity to reorganise my archives and began to look through boxes, many of which hadn’t been opened in over three decades. Sorting through thousands of personal photographs, negatives, artist’s proofs, sketches and notes, brought an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and a new-found pride for my body of work. Having never taken the time to look back, I hadn’t truly appreciated the journey. It now feels like the perfect time to create a retrospective book to celebrate the privilege of a career working with some of music’s most iconic artists. It will also give me the opportunity to share anecdotes & recollections – to tell the stories behind the artwork.”

His journey began in the post room at Stiff Records back in 1980, where with no formal training he ended up in their art department, before moving on to work for Neville Brody up at The Face magazine offices. Since that time Halfon has worked alongside many of the great artists and photographers, from Peter Blake to David Bailey.

Most recently Halfon created and produced the punchy comedy/drama series ‘All You Need Is Me’ for Canal Plus. Based on many of his own experiences living in Los Angeles, the series was shot entirely on location in LA and London. He garnered cameos from Fallout Boy’s Pete Wentz, the LibertinesCarl Barat, Elvis Costello and James Corden.

As The Rolling Stones’ legendary manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham saysof Halfon’s work – “the job of artwork on an LP cover is to explain the music, the artist and invite you in. Halfon does just that.”

Announce ‘Southside Demos’ EP & ‘Southside Covers’ EP

 ‘I Don’t Want A Lover

Mixed by Chic’s Bernard Edwards Out Now

For over 30 years, Texas have proved themselves to be one of Scotland’s best ever bands and nothing short of a national treasure south of the border. The band has announced they will be releasing two digital-only EPs from their world-renowned and critically acclaimed album ‘Southside’. ‘Southside Demos’ and ‘Southside Covers’ will be released on 11th September 2020 through UMC/Mercury.

Originally part of an incomplete album recording, the first track to be taken from the EP is the glorious Bernard Edwards mix of ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’. Following an incredible, but unfinished, album session with Bernard, Sharleen Spiteri said, “We’ve searched for these recordings for a long time and they were recently found in the Universal vaults in America, they have not been listened to since 1987.” She continued, “What you are listening to was one of the biggest lessons we learned on many fronts right at the beginning of our career.”

Compiled and curated by the band, ‘Southside Demos’ is a seven track digital-only EP featuring six previously unreleased demos recorded in Glasgow between February and December 1987. The EP also includes a previously unreleased mix of, ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’ by Bernard Edwards of Chic, which also features Tony Thompson of Chic on drums and was recorded at Burbank Studios in LA in summer 1987. The band will release a new track from ‘Southside Demos’ through to release on the 11th September.

The second of the two EPs, ‘Southside Covers’, was recorded at the band’s legendary gig at The Paradiso in Amsterdam in June 1989. The EP features previously unreleased live covers of John Lee Hooker’s, ‘Dimples’, and the Whitfield/Strong composition ,’Can’t Get Next To You’, which was covered by The Temptations and Al Green. Also included are live covers of ‘It Hurts Me Too’ by Elmore James and an epic cover of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Living For The City’.

Formed in 1986 by the undeniably brilliant Sharleen Spiteri and her partner in crime, Johnny McElhone, Texas have made consistently great music throughout their stellar career; they’ve sold over 40 million records, had 13 top ten UK singles, 3 #1 UK albums and 8 top ten UK albums including their latest, ‘Jump On Board’.
