Listen To ‘El Mero Cero’; Final Single in Advance of Todos Nacen Gritando Album Release This Friday

St. Vincent to Perform at Mexico City’s Legendary Corona Capital Festival this Weekend & New 2025 Tour Dates Announced Including Shows with Olivia Rodrigo

Career-High Four Nominations for 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards

St. Vincent has released the new single ‘El Mero Cero,’ a Spanish language version of her song “Big Time Nothing.” It is the final single to preview the upcoming album Todos Nacen Gritando ahead of its release this Friday.

Todos Nacen Gritando is the result of Annie Clark a/k/a St. Vincent’s ambitious decision to re-record every vocal track on her Grammy-nominated All Born Screaming album translated into Spanish. The echoes of tens of thousands of fans chanting her lyrics across Latin America and Spain moved Clark to pay tribute to her Spanish-speaking fans and the Spanish language she loves so much. “It was really inspiring,” she says, recalling experiences like the crowd reaction to her set at Primavera Sound 2023. “At the end, I asked myself, ‘If they’re able to sing in a second or third language, why can’t I do the same thing?

That is how Todos Nacen Gritando was born. Clark defines this meticulous reinterpretation as one of the biggest challenges of her musical career: “It’s been a much more complicated process than anything I’ve done before.

No small statement for an artist whose accomplishments and accolades include 3 Grammy awards (“Best Rock Song” in 2019 and “Best Alternative Music Album” in 2015 and 2022) — a tally that may wind up doubling (or more) with this year’s career-high 4 nominations — collaborations with artists from Taylor Swift to David Byrne, fronting Nirvana for their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, contributing to Paul McCartney‘s III-Imagined album and playing live with Metallica—and a just-announced pair of shows supporting Olivia Rodrigo in Mexico City and Curitiba, Brazil (Tickets for these newly unveiled dates will be on sale beginning November 12. For further information, go to ilovestvincent.com.)

The stark nature of the album —her first fully self-produced record— found in Spanish a way to enhance its visceral original vocal performances. “There are things that I sing in Spanish that maybe I would feel self-conscious singing in English because they feel so sincere… it was a fascinating experience to find how to convey the feeling, but also discover a new way through words,” she explains.

‘Uptown Funk’ was released on November 10th, 2014 and soon after dominated global airwaves, streaming and charts enjoying unprecedented worldwide success.

Written by Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, Jeff Bhasker and Phillip Lawrence and produced by Mark, Bruno, and Jeff, ‘Uptown Funk’ delivered a sound like no other.

Mark had previously produced 3 tracks for Bruno Mars’ 2nd album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ and they wanted to work together again. They later enjoyed a studio jam with Jeff Bhasker that sowed the first seeds of what would become ‘Uptown Funk’.

“‘Uptown Funk’ remains one of the most meaningful musical experiences of my life,” Mark reflects. Creating it in a jam with Bruno, Jeff, and Phil and then spending seven months refining every detail was a true labour of love. Performing it live on SNL is a memory I’ll always cherish. Now, watching how the song has taken on a life of its own—from clubs to weddings to graduations—I’m genuinely moved by the joy it seems to bring to people. I’m endlessly grateful to Trinidad James for sparking that initial inspiration and to my brothers Bruno, Jeff, and Phil for pouring their heart and brilliance into it.”

The stylish video, directed by Bruno Mars and Cameron Duddy, was released on November 17th, filmed on a New York City backlot created in a Hollywood Studio. On November 22nd, Mark and Bruno performed ‘Uptown Funk’ live for the first time on Saturday Night Live.

From then on records were broken around the world.

‘Uptown Funk’ topped the charts in 19 countries and was top 10 in 15 others. It spent 14 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and 7 weeks at #1 in the UK where it broke its own streaming record 3 times. It also broke US and global streaming records.

The song has received numerous awards and accolades including:

BRIT Award )2015) British Single of the Year

GRAMMY Award (2016) – Record of the Year

GRAMMY Award (2016) – Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

BMI (2015) -Pop Song of the Year

iHeart Radio Music Awards (2016)- Collaboration of the Year

MTV Video Music Awards )2015)- Best Male Video

Soul Train Music Awards (2015)- Song & Video of the Year

APRA Music Awards (2016)- International Work of the Year

In the UK ‘Uptown Funk’ is 10x Platinum and in the US 11x Platinum while the latest global streams are 1.2billion.

Their Heaviest & Most Sincere New Studio Album

Out May 9th, 2025

Starring Matthew Thomson, Chris Alderton & Elliot Briggs
Plus A Supporting Cast Of: Royal Blood, Catherine Marks & Pete Hutchings

Produced in Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Wiltshire, Chapel Lane Studios in Hereford
& The Retreat in Brighton

New Single ‘Pitch Black’ – Out Now

Roll sound! Roll camera! The Amazons are back. After a huge Top 5 record with 2022’s How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?, the band returned recently with the emphatic ‘Living A Lie’. Today, they present 21st Century Fiction: their darkest and most heartfelt record to date – out May 9th, 2025.

Latest offering – the Muse-meets-soul rock-noir ‘Pitch Black’ – is out today and speaks to the pressures and crushing weight on frontman Matthew Thomson to live up to what he has been led to believe is a ‘real man’. Listen here

“The Dress Rehearsal For Life Is Over, So We’d Better
Make Our Mark Now.”

‘Now’ – it’s a strong word that speaks to the urgency and ethos of the Reading band’s fourth album. 21st Century Fiction is the sound of “a man in his late 20s, struggling with unrealistic ideals of masculinity and a sense of unfulfilled promise”, surrounded by “a world plagued by chaos”. This is the time to take stock and captain your own ship.

The record “comes from the frustration of being in that place where my 20s were ending and being really cognisant of that,” says Thomson, of that spot where the adolescent dream collapses under “self-flagellation; always wondering what’s around the corner, always scolding myself for not matching up to some unattainable ideals of what it means to be a successful band or even just a man.”

These were songs that Thomson needed to write, not just to lift himself from the doldrums but for a generation of young males with the same struggles. Take the call-to-arms grunge of ‘Night After Night’ and the rollicking blues of ‘Love Is A Dog From Hell’ – both helmed by Catherine Marks at Real World Studios; a reunion with the producer of their first two albums who has since gone on to win her first Grammy after producing The Record by boygenius.

There is also the tender but towering ‘Go All The Way’, through the Jack White snarl of ‘Wake Me Up’, and the hard rock undoing of ‘Joe Bought A Gun’ (the latter squaring up against the cycle of violence in American society), the rest of the album enjoyed the “freeing” experience of being produced by Pete Hutchings (Foals, Royal Blood, Gang Of Youths) – aside from the beefy and triumphant ‘My Blood’ – produced by Royal Blood frontman Mike Kerr and featuring drummer Ben Thatcher.

How did the teenage Thomson imagine his life as he approached 30?

“I definitely imagined financial security, having a house,” he says, admitting that the state of the economy and a music industry in turmoil has seen these milestones fall by the wayside. “I also wasn’t happy about the composition of myself when I looked in the mirror. I spent thousands of pounds in my 20s on personal trainers, supplements and the idea that I was going to be fitter, stronger and look like the people you’d see on Instagram and in the movies. I thought I’d get closer to the ideal of what a man should be: stoic, doesn’t talk much, sexy, elegant, always knows what to say, has practical skills, and financial fluency. I was thinking about entering my 30s, and I wasn’t amounting to any of that.”

21st Century Fiction signals the emergence of The Amazons’ bold new sound – still loaded with riffs and roaring with aggression, but packed with a whole new level of introspection, energy and grandiose. With three huge Top 10 records and sold out shows across the globe under their belts, The Amazons are facing their futures: fired up and ready to go.

Let the show begin!

Debut Album Released on Vinyl this Spring

Twenty years ago, Martha Wainwright stepped out of her family’s illustrious shadow and announced herself to the world with her stunning debut album ‘Martha Wainwright’. Featuring ‘Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole’, a song about her father, ‘Factory’ and ‘When The Day Is Short’, it immediately proved she was a major talent to be reckoned with.

This Spring, PIAS will release this album on vinyl for the very first time. The Sunday Times called her ‘a tour de force’, Uncut described the disc as ‘brilliant’ while Q said she was ‘a thing of wonder’. She is all that and more and twenty years on continues to enthral both onstage and record.

“20 years ago my life as an artist took shape when my first record was released,” Martha recalls. “In many ways that record defined me, as well as launched me into a now over 20 year long career that has made me who I am. It was after 10 years of playing in bars, making cassettes and EPs to sell at my shows, singing backup for my brother Rufus, falling in love and out of love, practising, writing, singing until I could barely sing anymore, partying, playing with musicians and listening to great artists, working with my ex-husband in the studio for 2 years, all that created this first record.”

“20 years later, with 6 other albums under my belt, 2 kids and a career that is chugging along, I can safely say my first record paved my way forward. On March 21st we will release the record on vinyl for the first time ever as well as digitally release unheard songs, outtakes and early material from that 10 year period of discovery that led to my first record. There will be a tour with a few great musicians, where I’ll play the record in its entirety as well as a few new songs- there’s no 48 year old me with the 28 year old me.”

LUCINDA WILLIAMS SINGS THE BEATLES FROM ABBEY ROAD

OUT DECEMBER 6TH

WATCH THE VIDEO OF THE ACTUAL RECORDING

AT THE LEGENDARY STUDIO VIEW HERE

NEW COLLECTION SERVES AS VOL. 7 OF HER CELEBRATED LU’S JUKEBOX THEMED LIVE PERFORMANCE SERIES

Revered singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams has just released a sensational cover of The Beatles’ “Something”. Williams’ captivating rendition of the George Harrison classic appears on the forthcoming album Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles From Abbey Road, which comes out on December 6th via Highway 20 Records/Thirty Tigers.

“Something” was filmed during the recording at the legendary studio, watch the video here. The clip features Williams with her band – Marc Ford (guitar), Butch Norton (drums), Doug Pettibone (guitar), David Sutton (bass), with Richard Causon (Hammond B-3) and Siobhan M Kennedy (backing vocals). The video was shot by Neighbourhoods Apart Productions.

While many great artists have recorded at Abbey Road Studios, it turns out that Williams is the first major artist to actually record Beatles’ songs there aside from the Fab Four themselves. Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles From Abbey Road serves as Vol. 7 of her celebrated Lu’s Jukebox series and is the first new volume in almost four years.

As an acclaimed, award-winning singer/songwriter for more than four decades, Williams is a pioneering artist whose music has been highly influential and covered by a multitude of others. Williams is also an extraordinary interpreter who, like all great interpreters, has the ability to inhabit a song and make it her own. She does just that throughout this selection of Beatles tracks, as she has done on each Lu’s Jukebox volume.

Lu’s Jukebox originally began during the pandemic in 2020 as a way to help independent music venues when there were no live performances. Scheduled as a six-episode series of mostly full-band, HD video performances in-studio, the series featured themed sets of cover songs curated by Williams and streamed for a fee with proceeds going to designated venues. The series became a fan favourite and each has been released on vinyl, CD and via streaming services.

The original six in Lu’s Jukebox are ,Vol 1 – Runnin’ Down A Dream (A Tribute To Tom Petty), Vol 2 – Southern Soul: From Memphis To Muscle Shoals & More, Vol 3 – Bob’s Back Pages: A Night Of Bob Dylan Songs, Vol 4 – Funny How Time Slips Away: A Night Of 60’s Country Classics. Vol 5 – Lucinda Williams – Have Yourself A Rockin’ Little Christmas, Vol 6 – You Are Cordially Invited: A Tribute To The Rolling Stones

After announcing a massive hometown show at Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park for May 2025, to celebrate 20 years of their iconic debut album Employment, Yorkshire indie icons Kaiser Chiefs announce further 20th anniversary celebration shows for next summer, including London’s Alexandra Palace Park, Brighton Beach and more.

Kaiser Chiefs said: “20 years ago, a brand new song by a brand new band was released. I Predict A Riot was the start of something really special for some musicians from Leeds. And the album that followed, Employment, changed our lives and has soundtracked the lives of millions of others since 2005. In 2025 we are saluting 20 years of that album and everyone is invited. Come celebrate the 2000’s, loving everything less & less and stripey blazers taking over the world. See you all next year.”

Released in March 2005, the seven-times Platinum and multi-award winning ‘Employment’ remains the biggest ever selling record from a Leeds artist, with hits from the record like ‘I Predict A Riot’ and ‘Oh My God’ becoming anthems for the city; forever intertwined with Leeds life, culture, football and more.

Coming home to Leeds on Saturday 31st May, the band will be joined by an incredible supporting cast of their mid-noughties peers, including a return to Yorkshire for London quintet Razorlight who are set to perform a special show to mark 20 years since the release of their seminal debut album ‘Up All Night’. Also joining them on the bill are local heroes The Cribs (who in turn will celebrate 20 years since their classic sophomore album ‘The New Fellas’), Merseyside’s finest The Coral, and cult-favourite US indie rockers We Are Scientists (who will also honour the 20th release anniversary of their exhilarating major label debut ‘With Love And Squalor’).

As well as marking one of the great eras of British indie music, the band will also be keeping one eye on the future, inviting two of the most exciting new indie artists in the UK to open the day; Hastings trio HotWax and West Yorkshire’s own Ellur.

Taken From Their Cathartic New Album Death & Love Pt.1
Out Jan 31st, 2025 via PIAS

The Band’s Biggest Ever UK Headline Tour
Feb/Mar 2025 Tour Includes Shows At London O2 Academy, Brixton – February 26th
& Liverpool Olympia – March 1st

Across the pond it’s fast approaching US election time, but Liverpool’s indie powerhouses Circa Waves are on a campaign trail of their own with the release of their longing new single ‘American Dream’ – taken from their spectacular new album Death & Love Pt.1 – out January 31st, 2025 via Lower Third/PIAS.

The track follows the album’s supreme first offering ‘We Made It’, and lends a short, sharp, explosive and stratospheric soundtrack to the idea and theme of the pursuit of success, and more importantly, where to find it. Watch the video here.

American Dream is about the pursuit of what we believe success is,” explains frontman Kieran Shudall. “A yearning to get somewhere because we think the grass is greener on the other side only to find that happiness doesn’t lie there. Sometimes you need to fly across the world to gain a true love of home.”

Circa Waves will return to the road in February & March next year, embarking on their biggest UK headline tour yet, playing to their ever expanding fanbase. Across 12 dates, they’ll play to thousands of fans across the UK, including a night at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on March 26th & a what will be a truly special final night hometown show at Liverpool’s Olympia March 1st. Tickets available here.

Both terrifying and liberating to write, Death & Love Pt.1 is an urgent, 9-track hit of cathartic guitar-pop, serving as a powerful coping mechanism to help process frontman Kieran Shudall’s near-death experience.

Back in early 2023, Kieran received a call from doctors to say that the main artery in his heart was severely blocked. Two days later, he was lying on an operating table watching a wire being inserted into his heart to fix it. What followed was the cancelling of a lot of shows, working out a lot of medication, and most crucially, now having to navigate a new way of life.

And the results are quite simply stunning. Self-produced by Kieran, and engineered by Matt Wiggins (Adele, Lana Del Rey, Glass Animals), the nine tracks that make up Death & Love Pt.1 ooze nostalgia, and hark back to the sounds and themes that made Shudall want to pick up a guitar in the very first place.

Circa Waves was formed in Liverpool in May 2013 by Kieran Shudall. After writing a batch of songs and putting some demos online, he recruited second guitarist Joe Falconer, bassist Sam Rourke, and drummer Sian Plummer (replaced by Colin Jones in 2015).

The band first gained a buzz and earned favourable comparisons to the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and the Vaccines before they hit the Top Ten with their debut, 2015’s Young Chasers on Virgin/EMI. Buoyed by singles like ‘T-Shirt Weather’ and ‘Stuck in My Teeth’, the album reached the Top Ten of the U.K. albums chart and paved the way for a series of well-attended live shows, including a sold-out date at London’s O2 .

Without shying away from their influences, the band matured, and albums like 2017’s Different Creatures, 2019’s What’s It Like Over There? showcase their knack for crafting their own distinctively infectious, post-punk anthems. In 2020, they reached number four on the U.K. albums chart with Sad Happy and returned in 2023 with Never Going Under.

Death & Love Pt.1 is the first instalment of a snapshot in time – a reflection on a moment of true terror, and the joy of coming through the other side. It’s a brave and remarkable next step for a band in the finest form of their career.

“A stunning slice of soul”Telegraph
“Megastar in-the-making” The Line Of Best Fit

With a spring 2025 UK tour recently announced, which includes a huge hometown gig at Glasgow’s Barrowland on April 19th, one of Scotland’s fastest rising stars Brooke Combe has released her new single ‘Shaken By The Wind’. The track is the latest cut to be taken from her stunning debut album Dancing At The Edge Of The World, which comes January 31st, 2025 on Modern Sky Records.

Written with Jungle’s Tom McFarland, ‘Shaken By The Wind’ is a piano driven slice of euphoria. “’The track was the first collaborative song I wrote for the album,” Brooke says. “I got the train down to London to meet up with Tom at his studio. Me being such a big Jungle fan, I was really excited to see what we’d come up with. Tom came up with a chord progression and then I basically messed around with some melodies to see what would work. After that, the writing sort of flowed naturally off the back of everything else and the song was born.” Listen to ‘Shaken By The Wind’ HERE.

Collaborating with musician and producer James Skelly, best known as the frontman of The Coral, Brooke’s debut album, Dancing At The Edge Of The World is the perfect opening statement, showing a tantalising first look at the artist she will become. Redolent of those first offerings from Michael Kiwanuka and Corinne Bailey Rae, it revels in lush, orchestral arrangements, irresistible rhythms and a voice that could have come right out of Motown.

Known for her captivating live shows, Brooke will kick off the eight date run at Norwich Arts Centre on April 4th, culminating with Brooke’s biggest headline show to date at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Saturday April 19th. Tickets for the dates are available HERE.

What a year it’s been for Keane! After a year full of spectacular 20th anniversary celebrations, today the band announce the final instalment with the release of a forthcoming hardback book Hopes and Fears: Lyrics and History – to be published November 28th by Faber Music & Island Records.

With the original handwritten sketches and album lyrics to massive hits such as ‘Somewhere Only We Know’, ‘Everybody’s Changing’, ‘Bend and Break’, ‘Bedshaped’ & ‘This Is The Last Time’, the book includes beautifully crafted reflections from members Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley & Richard Hughes, who originally met as school friends.

Jesse Quin, who joined the band as bassist in 2011 offers his unique insight into the first time he heard the band, and the book also includes scans of the band’s original personal notebooks & candid in-the-studio photographs – altogether giving an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look and insight into the creative process and inspiration behind an iconic, stand-out album of the 2000s.

To round off this year’s celebrations and launch of the book, Keane will open their own special pop up shop on the legendary Tin Pan Alley, Denmark Street, in collaboration with Outernet.

Taking place Thursday, Nov 28thSunday Dec 1st, the pop up will stock the book, music, and a selection of new merchandise, as well as favourite items from this year’s Keane20 tour and festivities. There will also be a selection of Keane20 prints taken by official touring photographer Jon Stone on show and available to purchase in limited quantities.

On the Friday Nov 29th, the band will perform a historic, intimate acoustic performance, with book signing, next door at The Forge – formerly The 12 Bar Club where Keane played as they were first starting out back in 2002. Spaces are limited and available via a ballot HERE.

No one could have quite predicted what an incredible year 2024 could have been for Keane. From the moment the 20th anniversary plans were unveiled, it’s been a whirlwind year of activity that’s seen a special remastered version of Hopes and Fears, a world tour that saw a memorable Glastonbury Pyramid Stage performance and huge sold out shows from two nights at London’s O2 Arena, to Mexico City, North America, to India & South Africa – playing these two countries for the very first time and proving the ever-growing demand for the band worldwide. They were also joined onstage in Mumbai with Anoushka Shankar to play a special version of ‘Everybody’s Changing’ – watch here.  Their last tour of the year in Latin America starts 5th November in Brazil and sees them take in Uruguay. Argentina, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Paraguay.

Hopes and Fears was a landmark album for Keane and has set all kinds of records in the process. It’s one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history having sold over 2.5 million in the UK in its first year, and a million in the USA propelled by their absolutely classic song ‘Somewhere Only We Know’. ‘Hopes and Fears’ is 9x platinum in the UK, a remarkable achievement. The album has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

‘Somewhere Only We Know’ also enjoyed a recent revival on TikTok, which lit the spark for a global renaissance of the track engaging a whole new generation of audience. In total it has been streamed nearly two billion times and averages just shy of 10 million streams a week.

Keane emerged alongside a new vanguard of bands that would change the shape of music: Snow Patrol, Scissor sisters, the Killers and Coldplay. They were the first to create a sound solely revolving around keyboards which enhanced the emotional pull of their songs. ‘Everybody’s Changing’ from Hopes and Fears also became a fan favourite and a top five hit.

In 2004 Keane were the biggest selling British artist act in the UK. The following year they won two BRIT Awards: Best British Album for Hopes and Fears and British Breakthrough act award as voted for by Radio 1 listeners.
