It’s been another exciting month at MBC towers, and we’ve got even more to be shouting from the rooftops about as we look to dive head first into the summer!
We welcome back Madonna as she globally unveiled the video for her poptastic new track ‘Medellin’ ft. Columbian superstar Maluma, on MTV this week. It’s the first taste of her new album Madame X out June 14th. More Madonna news to follow so watch this space!!!!
We also give a big warm welcome back to Mark Ronson, who announced his new album, ‘Late Night Feelings’ for June 21st. This collection of ‘sad bangers’ features collabs with Miley Cyrus, Camila Cabello, Lykke Li, Alicia Keys & more. Last night Mark took his Club Heartbreak to Ladbroke Grove for a DJ set with Romy (xx). Lily Allen was among the crowd. Mark and Lykke Li perform new single ‘Late Night Feelings’ tomorrow night on the Jonathan Ross Show.
Without doubt, 2019 has been a breakout year for Lewis Capaldi. After celebrating a whopping 7 weeks atop the charts, the UK’s biggest single this year has propelled him to become one of the first artists to ever sell out a UK arena tour before the release of a debut album, out next month.
Jack Savoretti has so far sold 70,000 copies of his #1 album ‘Singing to Strangers’ Jack kicks off his UK tour next month ending at London’s Wembley Arena on May 31st. We also can’t not mention his exquisite volley into the top bins on Soccer AM. Baggio-esque!
Meanwhile Tom Walker has sold 140,000 copies of his debut album ‘What A Time To Be Alive’. Tom kicked off his UK tour in Nottingham earlier this week and lands at the Roundhouse next Wednesday May 1st. ‘Just You & I’ still top ten.
Dido kicks off her first tour in 15 years early next month in Prague before starting the UK leg in Glasgow May 26th. She plays two nights at the Roundhouse May 30th and 31st before going to the USA for a string of shows. We can’t wait!!
A big MBC “hello” to shey baba whose debut album ‘Requiem’ is out May 10th on Virgin EMI. The exciting new LA songwriter, who’s just joined our family, is doing the ‘release thing’ a little differently with stunning double A-sides and an utterly captivating 15-minute film with cinematography from James Laxton – Academy Award nominated for his work on Moonlight and If Beale Street Could Talk.
Winning Voice coach and all round superstar Olly Murs kicks off his massive UK tour next Wednesday in Aberdeen. He plays two eagerly anticipated nights at London’s 02 May 17th and 18th. All the hits and more!!
